New Mississippi State coach Joe Moorhead will be looking for a defensive coordinator for his team.

After multiple reports emerged earlier Wednesday, Todd Grantham confirmed that he is leaving Mississippi State and will go to Florida with Dan Mullen. The Gators hired Mullen on Sunday. Florida will be the third SEC team Grantham has worked for and his third school in three seasons.

Grantham was hired in February as Mississippi State’s defensive coordinator after three years at Louisville. The Bulldogs were 10th in total defense after a disastrous year in 2016 — a year that resulted in a coordinator swap with Louisville.

As Grantham came over from Louisville, Mississippi State defensive coordinator Peter Sirmon went to the Cardinals.

Before he was at Louisville, Grantham was Georgia’s defensive coordinator. He’ll now face the Bulldogs every season. Mississippi State played Georgia in 2017 and, uh, it did not go well. Georgia won that game 31-3.
