Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 6 game

The Chicago Bears (1-4) return home seeking to win back-to-back games for the first time in a year and a half.

They take on the Minnesota Vikings (1-4) in an NFC North matchup after beating the Washington Commanders 40-20 last week. Justin Fields had four touchdowns, including three to DJ Moore, who had eight catches for 230 yards. Despite lack of secured wins so far, the quarterback is tied for second in the league with 11 touchdowns. The Bears will be without wide receiver Chase Claypool, who was traded to the Miami Dolphins after he expressed frustration with the team.

The last time the Bears won two straight games was in Weeks 16 and 17 of the 2021 season.

The Vikings have their own woes this year and got their first win a week earlier than Chicago. Last week, they dropped a home game 27-20 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The defense held Patrick Mahomes and company to 333 yards, but the offense had a late turnover on downs and allowed a sack on the last play. Kirk Cousins leads the league with 13 touchdowns on the season, but star receiver Justin Jefferson suffered a hamstring injury and was placed on IR.

Minnesota has won four straight games against the Bears.

Tyler Dragon: Vikings 21, Bears 20

Justin Jefferson’s placement on injured reserve is a catastrophic blow to the 1-4 Vikings’ playoff chances. The Vikings must figure out the direction of their franchise as the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline approaches. If the Vikings lose to the Bears, it might trigger a fire sale.

Victoria Hernandez: Bears 23, Vikings 21

The Bears will have redemption from letting their Week 4 home game slip through their fingers. Their record doesn't show how Chicago is finally piecing things together offensively. Meanwhile, Kirk Cousins is without his main target and his swagger.

Safid Deen: Bears 24, Vikings 20

Justin Jefferson’s hamstring injury and Kirk Cousins’ upcoming free agency clouds Minnesota’s future, and the Vikings players know it. Justin Fields and DJ Moore continue their red-hot connection from last week where they had three touchdowns together in Washington.
