Milwaukee Bucks sign guard Ryan Rollins to a two-way contract

The Milwaukee Bucks filled one of their open two-way contract spots by signing Ryan Rollins on Wednesday.

Teams are allowed to have three two-way contracts, and players can play for the NBA team and its affiliated G League team (Wisconsin Herd). Rollins joins TyTy Washington Jr. as a two-way player in Milwaukee.

The Herd has only 14 games left, however. The Bucks have 26 regular-season games remaining.

Rollins, 21, was a second-round pick of the Atlanta Hawks out of the University of Toledo in 2022 but was immediately traded to the Golden State Warriors. He played about five minutes per game in 12 appearances for the Warriors that year, shooting 33.3% from behind the three-point line.

He was then part of the trade that sent Milwaukee native Jordan Poole and UW-Milwaukee alumnus Patrick Baldwin Jr. from Golden State to Washington in July. He played in 10 games this season, seeing about seven minutes per game before being waived Jan. 8.

According to court documents, Rollins stole household items from a Target on seven occasions from September through November while a member of the Wizards.

Rollins pleaded guilty to a single count of petit larceny, a misdemeanor, on Jan. 31. The other charges were dismissed. His 30-day sentence was suspended and will be expunged once his unsupervised probation over six months is complete. He also paid court-ordered restitution on Feb. 1, along with a small fine associated with the case on Feb. 13.

In 22 career NBA games, the 6-foot-4 guard shot 41.7% from behind the three-point line and 44% overall.
