Bucks' Khris Middleton ejected after hard foul on Bruce Brown in OT win over Nets

Khris Middleton didn’t make it to the end of the Milwaukee Bucks' battle with the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night.

Middleton was ejected in the fourth quarter of Milwaukee's 120-119 overtime win at the Barclays Center after he drilled Brooklyn forward Bruce Brown on what should have been a breakaway dunk.

Brown came up with a steal just after the midway point of the fourth quarter and had a wide-open path to the rim on the other end of the court. As he got there, though, he slowed up slightly before rising up for a dunk.

That gave Middleton just enough time to catch up. While he made a play on the ball, Middleton made direct contact with Brown’s arm while he was in the air and sent him sprawling down to the floor hard.

After a review, officials hit Middleton with a Flagrant 2 foul, which led to the automatic ejection. Middleton finished the night with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Giannis passes Kareem on game-tying 3-pointer

Though Middleton’s ejection didn’t help, and came in the midst of a huge Brooklyn run, Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo came up big at just the right time.

Antetokounmpo, with less than 20 seconds left in regulation, hit a clutch 3-pointer from the top of the key which forced overtime and capped an 11-2 run.

The bucket also made Antetokounmpo the Bucks’ all-time leading scorer. He surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s franchise mark of 14,211 points.

The Bucks then edged out the win in overtime thanks to a pair of free throws from Antetokounmpo in the final seconds and then one final defensive stand. Kevin Durant nearly hit a game-winner for the Nets, but his shot at the buzzer was just off.

Antetokounmpo finished the night with 44 points, 14 rebounds and six assists while shooting 14-of-21 from the field. Jrue Holiday added 19 points and eight rebounds, and Wesley Matthews put up 11 points. The win marks Milwaukee’s sixth in its last eight games.

Durant led the Nets with 26 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds. Kyrie Irving added 25 points and five assists, and Brown finished with 23 points. The Nets have now lost three of their last five.
