Mike Vrabel rules 3 Titans out for Colts game, including WR Treylon Burks
The Tennessee Titans will be without three major contributors on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
Titans coach Mike Vrabel listed receiver Treylon Burks, linebacker Luke Gifford and defensive tackle Teair Tart as the Titans' inactives against the Colts. This means the Titans (2-2) will have to face the Colts' (2-2) impressive rushing attack without some of its best interior run stoppers.
Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons was absent from the media-viewing portion of Friday's practice, the first indication of his absence this week. One of the league's premier interior pass rushers, Simmons has 14 tackles and 2.5 sacks in four games this season. He's been named a second-team All Pro each of the past two seasons but he dealt with a nagging ankle injury that limited for the second half of 2022. Vrabel did not indicate anything about Simmons missing time and Simmons was seen walking back into the locker room with his teammates after practice.
Burks has missed five-straight practices dating back to last week and did not play in last Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He's dealing with a knee injury and has not been in the locker room to speak to media since his injury.
Tart is dealing with a toe injury and has been absent from practice all week. Gifford, one of the Titans' core special teams contributors, has been in and out of the lineup for the past couple weeks with a hamstring injury.
Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, running back Derrick Henry and defensive lineman Denico Autry were all present for the media-viewing portion of Friday's practice after landing on the injury report Thursday.
The Titans visit the Colts for a game at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday (noon, CBS).
