Michigan State says it's received threats toward athletic events

Authorities say threats have been made against Michigan State sporting events.

According to Michigan State and East Lansing police the threats aren’t specific and per the Lansing State Journal, the departments are investigating the source and credibility of the threats. From a Michigan State statement:

Both police departments are working in conjunction with additional law enforcement agencies to investigate the origin and validity of the statements. The case remains an open and active investigation.

Citizens and members of the campus community are urged to remain vigilant of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.

Michigan State is at Michigan on Saturday. The next football home game is Oct. 21 vs. Indiana.
