Michigan State football gets commit from best player in Rhode Island for 2024

It may have been July 4 on Tuesday, but recruiting never takes a holiday.

Early in the evening, Justin Denson, a cornerback from Providence, Rhode Island, made his commitment to Michigan State football for the class of 2024 via social media.

Denson, a 6-foot-2, 180-pounder, is a three-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, and the top player in Rhode Island for the cycle. He’s also the No. 57 corner in the country.

The La Salle Academy star picked the Spartans over offers from Florida, Oklahoma and Alabama. He has already accepted an invitation to the All-American Bowl after this coming season.

This brings MSU’s 2024 class to 11 prospects and boosted its’ 247Sports national ranking to 48th overall and 13th in the Big Ten (out of 16 teams including USC and UCLA).
