Reports: Michigan QB Brandon Peters pursuing a transfer
Brandon Peters’ final days at Michigan are looming. According to multiple reports, Peters, a junior quarterback, has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
Peters, who was behind Shea Patterson and Dylan McCaffrey on the depth chart, has two years of eligibility remaining to use wherever he lands next. According to the Detroit Free Press, Peters is on track to graduate this spring, meaning he will be immediately eligible in 2019 as a graduate transfer.
Peters played in 10 games during his time with the Wolverines, throwing for 672 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
Peters became the team’s starter late in the 2017 campaign after John O’Korn was injured. O’Korn was filling in for the injured Wilton Speight. Peters, in his third career start, suffered a concussion against Wisconsin. He sat out the final contest of that season but returned to the field for the Outback Bowl against South Carolina and struggled mightily in a loss.
When Patterson arrived as a transfer from Ole Miss for the 2018 season, Peters fell to No. 3 on the depth chart and played in only two games. Peters was a four-star recruit in the 2016 class.
