Michigan football continues to restructure the recruiting department.

The Wolverines have promoted Aashon Larkins to director of recruiting, a program spokesperson confirmed.

Larkins recently changed his social media accounts to include his new title.

Jerret McElwain has also been promoted to the director of scouting, while Tony Jones is now the director of high school relations. Both were previously assistant recruiting coordinators.

In late April, Michigan made a significant move in hiring Courtney Morgan as director of player personnel. The move occurred close to a week after former director of recruiting Matt Dudek resigned to take a similar role at Mississippi State.

Morgan, who played at Michigan from 1999-2003, has plenty of experience in an off-field role. He was previously the director of player personnel at Fresno State in 2020 and held the same role at San Jose State in 2019. And between 2012-13, he was the director of player development at UCLA.[ The Free Press has started a new digital subscription model. Larkins, meanwhile, earns a promotion after he filled in as an on-field coach in 2020, working with the safeties after Bob Shoop stepped away from the team in September. Before arriving at Michigan in 2019, Larkins was the special teams coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Bethune Cookman.
