Miami Dolphins predictions: Do any NFL experts think they can beat Chiefs in playoffs?

The Miami Dolphins are facing a lot more than just the Kansas City Chiefs in their wild-card playoff game Saturday night.

The Dolphins (11-6) will look to pick themselves up after a pair of tough losses to end the regular season. They'll need to do it without several key players on defense, as injuries to Bradley Chubb, Andrew Van Ginkel, Xavien Howard and more left Miami to pick up Bruce Irvin and Justin Houston to try and corral Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Dolphins fans will have to battle the Peacock exclusive streaming rights just to watch the game. And anyone heading to Kansas City will have to endure what's likely to be the coldest game in franchise history, with wind chills expected to be below 0 degrees at kickoff.

Gameday updates: Miami Dolphins face Kansas City Chiefs in historic cold on Peacock playoff game

The Dolphins have a rough history with cold-weather games, and they lost to the Chiefs (11-6) already this season in a thriller in Frankfurt, Germany. But there is some good news: Tua Tagovailoa will have a highly motivated Tyreek Hill, who will make his long-awaited return to Kansas City after spending six seasons with the Chiefs. And running back Raheem Mostert and receiver Jaylen Waddle could return to give Mike McDaniel's offense its full complement of weapons.

Who will win the playoff showdown? Here's a look at what NFL experts and analysts are predicting:

Lorenzo Reyes, USA TODAY: Chiefs 26-14

"Things are just not going well for the Dolphins. They’re facing what appear to be insurmountable injuries — in particular at edge rusher — have hit an offensive slump and will be facing epically cold conditions in this game. Miami is not used to that kind of weather and if the Dolphins are unable to rush Patrick Mahomes, he could have a big day, even with the limitations the Chiefs have at receiver."

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Chiefs 24-17

"The Chiefs should figure some more things out and be much healthier after taking a self-imposed bye in Week 18. The extra time also will have given Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes to come up with more effective wrinkles and rejuvenate Travis Kelce a bit. The Dolphins' defense is also riddled with injuries to its pressure producers in the front seven and it's uncertain whether Xavien Howard can return at corner."

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Chiefs 26-19

"The Dolphins will go into Arrowhead a banged-up team, especially on defense. They will be down their top three pass rushers. That's a problem against Patrick Mahomes, even if the Chiefs offense has struggled this season by comparison to past Mahomes teams. They will do enough here as their defense limits a Miami offense that has had problems on the road. Chiefs take it."

Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk: Chiefs 23-17

"The weather will be a problem for the Dolphins. The bigger problem is the Chiefs have far more playoff experience."

Safid Dean, USA TODAY: Chiefs 30-17

"The Dolphins are hobbled with injuries to key contributors to their 11-win season and must go on the road to play the defending champions. Sure, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have struggled offensively but they’ll have more than enough to beat Miami at home."

Gennaro Filice, NFL.com: Chiefs 23-17

All five NFL.com pickers went with the Chiefs.

"A laser light show in September, Miami hobbled into January as a severely diminished outfit," Filice wrote. "Adding insult to a devastating wave of injuries: The team from Miami must open the playoffs in Kansas City, where the forecasted temperature for Saturday night has been teetering around ZERO degrees. Welcome back, Tyreek!

"All that said, the Chiefs enter this postseason looking as beatable as we've ever seen them in the Mahomes era. Kansas City started the season at 6-1, but since Week 8, the Chiefs are 5-5 with an offense in this span that ranks 26th in scoring, one spot below the Steelers. We all keep asking the same question: Can K.C. flip the switch? Maybe, maybe not. But I'm not even sure Miami's house has power."

Bill Bender, Sporting News: Dolphins 24-21

"This will be a popular upset pick because the Chiefs might be lured into a shootout with the Dolphins. Kansas City beat Miami 21-14 in Germany in Week 9, and the Dolphins were 4-4 S/U on the road. The Chiefs were effective in keeping Tyreek Hill, who had eight catches for 62 yards, away from making the big play. Patrick Mahomes II is 9-2 at home in the postseason, too, but the offense just has not clicked the same this season. Look for Mike McDaniel to be more aggressive early, even if Andy Reid continues to challenge that patience. Tua Tagovailoa gets his first career playoff victory and knocks out the defending Super Bowl champions."

Tyler Dragon, USA TODAY: Chiefs 26-21

"The Dolphins are dealing with a slew of injuries, especially on defense. Miami has only defeated one team this season with a winning record. It’s also worth noting that Miami’s speed is also going to be affected by the freezing cold temperatures Saturday in Kansas City. The Chiefs offense has sputtered this year, but Patrick Mahomes will work his magic in this one. Despite the Chiefs’ shortcomings, Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones won’t let the squad lose at home in the wild-card round."

John Breech, CBS Sports: Chiefs 20-17

"Tua's favorite weapon is Tyreek Hill, and if the Chiefs proved anything in the first meeting between these two teams, it's that they know how to slow down Hill better than any other team in the NFL. If this game were being played in Miami, I'd think about picking the Dolphins, but since it's being played in the arctic circle, I have no choice but to take the Chiefs."

Chris Simms, Pro Football Talk: Chiefs 24-20
