When will Mets wear their City Connect uniforms? There's a date now set in 2024

The New York Mets' City Connect uniforms could be here sooner rather than later.

According to a report by Paul Lukas of UniWatch, the Mets will wear their new attire for the first time against the St. Louis Cardinals on April 26.

The design will be released about a week before the game.

The Mets are one of 10 teams in Major League Baseball which have yet to release a City Connect jersey. Of those 10, the Mets, Blue Jays, Cardinals and Phillies will unveil their latest designs during the 2024 season.

The Mets are also changing their black alternate jerseys this season, removing the white outline around the lettering on their hats and jerseys. The black uniforms returned for select Friday home games upon Steve Cohen's purchase of the team in 2021.

The Mets have not made any major changes to their uniforms since 2013 when the team added blue home and road jerseys to the mix. The team's white pinstriped uniforms became the primary home combo in 2012.

The Mets have also paid homage to their past with throwback uniforms in 2016 and added a military camouflage-inspired alternate jersey for one season in 2014.

Last season, the Mets wore their first sponsored jersey patch after inking a multi-year partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian.
