Mets vs. Braves, Aug. 12: Jose Quintana starts Game 2 of doubleheader at 7:15 p.m.
The Mets and Atlanta Braves continue their four-game set at Citi Field as they face off in Game 2 of a doubleheader on Saturday night at 7:15 p.m.
Mets Notes
Buck Showalter said after Game 1's loss to Atlanta that Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor will be back in the lineup for Game 2.
A day after failing to score a single run, despite a myriad of chances, New York pushed across three runs in Game 1 all off the bat of Daniel Vogelbach who hit a three-run home run. It was Vogelbach's first home run since July 25 against the Yankees.
After his epic performance in the series against the Chicago Cubs, Pete Alonso has been held hitless so far in two games against the Braves. However, Atlanta's pitching staff has walked the first baseman five times in eight plate appearances this series.

Who is starting for the Mets?
Jose Quintana, who is 0-3 in four starts this season with a 3.42 ERA (1.31 WHIP) to go along with 16 strikeouts in 23.2 innings pitched.
The lefty has pitched well so far in his brief stint as a Met, allowing three earned runs or fewer in every start this season while also going at least five innings. In his last start against the Baltimore Orioles, Quintana went six innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out six.
Saturday's outing will be Quintana's second start at home this season. He made his season debut at Citi Field on July 20 against the Chicago White Sox and pitched five innings whilst on a pitch count. Since then, Quintana has solely pitched on the road.
Who is starting for the Braves?
Spencer Strider, who is 12-4 in 23 starts this season with a 3.93 ERA (1.13 WHIP) to go along with an MLB-leading 211 strikeouts in 132.1 innings pitched.
The 24-year-old is coming off a poor start against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Aug. 7 in which he went 2.2 innings and allowed six earned runs on five hits and three walks. He also struck out a career-low three hitters.
That wasn't even his worst start of the season, though, as the right-hander allowed eight earned runs on eight hits (two home runs) over four innings against the Mets on June 8.
In his career, Strider has always struggled against New York as he owns a 7.23 ERA over seven games (five starts) against the Mets. In two starts at Citi Field, Strider's ERA sits at a robust 9.39.
Upcoming schedule
The Mets and Braves finish off their weekend series on Sunday Night Baseball with first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
Kodai Senga (8-6, 3.24 ERA) makes his first career start against the Braves. He'll be opposed by right-hander Yonny Chirinos (5-4, 4.83 ERA).
