Mets notes

- New York (64-75) enters the Minnesota (73-67) series a winner in four of its past six games. The Mets missed a three-game winning streak and two-game series sweep with Wednesday's 3-2 loss at the Washington Nationals, who rallied for a walk-off win to salvage the split.

- Francisco Lindor, who drew first blood in New York's eventual defeat to the Nats with a first-inning RBI single, has driven home four runs over the Mets' past four games. Through 137 games this season, Lindor is slashing .251/.332/.466 with 26 home runs and 83 RBI.

- The source of New York's other run at Washington -- Mark Vientos, whose fifth-inning RBI single doubled the Mets' early lead to 2-0 -- is in a groove since his Aug. 27 activation off the 10-day IL. He is slashing .318/.423/.682 with two home runs and three RBI through seven games. On the season with the Mets, Vientos is hitting .214 with four homers and 13 RBI over 44 games.




Who is starting for the Mets?

Senga, who is 10-7 with a 3.08 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 25 starts over 143 1/3 IP this season. He yielded one run on five hits (one homer) while striking out 12 and walking two in his most recent outing, last Friday's 2-1 win over the Seattle Mariners.

Who is starting for the Twins?

Veteran LHP Dallas Keuchel, who is 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA in 21 1/3 IP over five games (four starts) since debuting Aug. 6 for Minnesota. He allowed five runs on five hits, including two homers, while striking out two and walking one in 3 1/3 IP of his latest start -- this past Saturday's 9-7 loss at the Texas Rangers.
