Here's the latest on some of the Mets' top prospects...

SS/2B/OF Ronny Mauricio, Triple-A Syracuse

After a lot of movement at the big league level, there was considerable speculation that a call-up could be coming for Mauricio soon after the Aug. 1 MLB trade deadline. However, the infielder-turned-outfielder remains at Syracuse and, perhaps because of that uncertainty, cooled off at the plate after a few hot weeks of play.

Over his past six games, Mauricio has just five hits (including a double) with two RBI while striking out 10 times and in 29 at-bats for a .172 average and .379 OPS. That is coming after a six-game stretch in which he batted .308 with an .843 OPS.

But a call-up could still be in the cards. SNY contributor Anthony McCarron recently spoke to an MLB executive who said of Mauricio: “I’d bring him up. It’d be a real tester.”

In his 2023 campaign at Triple-A, the 22-year-old has 26 doubles, two triples, 16 homers with 58 RBI and is slashing .289/.337/.482 for an .819 OPS. He has struck out 81 times and walked 24 times in 436 plate appearances across 96 games.

RHP Mike Vasil, Triple-A Syracuse

Vasil struggles at Triple-A continued in his last start, but there were some positives for the righty.

The right-hander allowed four runs on three hits over 3.1 innings and walked four batters Wednesday against the Worcester Red Sox. But he did strike out seven batters, a new high at Triple-A. His ERA and WHIP are now 7.04 and 1.891, respectively, through eight starts.

The free pass has stung Vasil of late. After walking just eight batters in 51 innings for Binghamton, he's walked 20 in 30.2 innings at Syracuse.

He's now the Mets' No. 12 overall prospect in the system, according to MLB Pipeline.

SS/CF Luisangel Acuña, Double-A Binghampton

Acuna is just getting his feet with the Mets organization. In his first five games with Binghampton this week he has four hits, two runs scored, an RBI and a .529 OPS in 19 at-bats. He has walked three times and struck out three times.

In 84 games with Double-A Frisco this year, he had 25 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 51 RBI with a .315/.377/.453 slash line for an .830 OPS. He also had 42 steals in 47 attempts.

Acuna, who came over to the organization from the Texas Rangers in the Max Scherzer deal, is now the organization's No. 2 prospect and No. 42 overall in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.

OF Drew Gilbert, Double-A Binghampton

Gilbert has hit the ground running a bit more in his first two games since he joined the organization from Houston in the Justin Verlander trade.

In Gilbert's first two games at Binghamton, he has two hits including an RBI triple over his first eight at-bats.

In 60 games with Double-A Corpus Christi, he was slashing .241/.342/.371 for a .713 OPS. Gilbert is the No. 66 prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline.

RHP Tyler Stuart, Double-A Binghampton

Stuart earned a promotion from High-A Brooklyn after posting a 1.55 ERA over 75.2 innings and has shown he belongs at the higher level through his first four outings.

With the Rumble Ponies, the six-foot-nine right-hander has allowed just six runs on 22 hits over 25.0 innings for a 2.16 ERA. He has struck out 15 batters to six walks.

In his last outing on Thursday, Stuart scattered three hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

Stuart is the No. 16 prospect in the organization, per MLB Pipeline.

RHP Blade Tidwell, Double-A Binghamton

Tidwell has quietly been one of the best pitchers in the organization this season and recently earned a promotion to Double-A.

However, his first start for the Rumble Ponies was one to forget, allowing three runs on four hits with four walks over 4.0 innings.

In 17 starts with High-A, the right-hander allowed 32 runs (28 earned) on 55 hits over 81.2 innings pitched for a 3.09 ERA. He had 112 strikeouts to 46 walks and posted a 1.237 WHIP.

C Kevin Parada, High-A Brooklyn

Parada was placed on the injured list down in Brooklyn due to a right ankle sprain at the end of July and has yet to feature.

Through 82 games, he’s posted 19 doubles, four triples, ten homers, 37 RBI, and a .797 OPS. He’s also caught would-be base stealers at an 18 percent clip, throwing out 24 runners.

Parada remains the organization's top prospect after all the trades and is No. 37 in baseball, per MLB Pipeline.

1B/OF Ryan Clifford, High-A Brooklyn

Clifford, who came over in the Verlander trade as well, is getting situated in Brooklyn. He has two hits, including a home run, in his first three games. The 19-year-old has also walked twice and gone down on strikes five times in 13 plate appearances.

In 58 games with High-A Asheville, Clifford smacked 16 home runs and slashed .271/.356/.547 for a .903 OPS.

OF Alex Ramirez, High-A Brooklyn

Ramirez, now the Mets’ No. 7 prospect, had a solid week at the dish over six games. The 20-year-old is having a very solid month and continued as the calendar hit August.

In six games this week, Ramirez had seven doubles, with three doubles and a homer for a .991 OPS. He had four RBI and stole two bases as well.

Overall, he has 25 extra-base hits with six homers, 19 doubles and 46 RBI. He's also produced a .250/.343/.356 slash line for a .700 OPS through 92 games with the Cyclones.

Ramirez has 18 steals to his name with 47 walks and 85 strikeouts.

SS Jett Williams, High-A Brooklyn

After a scorching stretch of play at St. Lucie, Williams was promoted to Brooklyn.

And through his first five games at the higher level, he has three hits with a double and two RBI. He also has seven walks and two steals.

In 79 games before the promotion, he put together a slash line of .249/.422/.410 with an .832 OPS thanks to 12 doubles, six triples and six home runs. He also had an impressive 69 walks to 76 strikeouts.

Williams is now the 5th rated prospect in the Mets' system after the deadline day deals. He is the 77th in baseball, per MLB Pipeline.
