Mets-Braves series opener Friday delayed due to inclement weather

NEW YORK — The second straight Mets game has been impacted by rain.

The team announced that Friday night's game against the Braves at Citi Field has been delayed due to inclement weather in the area. The delay comes after the Mets' Wednesday series finale with the Cardinals in St. Louis was postponed and moved to Aug. 5.

The Mets announced that the game is scheduled to begin at 8:05 p.m.

The team entered the night with an 18-18 record following two straight wins against the Cardinals.

Jose Quintana (1-3, 5.20 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Mets on Friday night against the Braves' Charlie Morton (2-0, 3.50).
