DEWITT

Outlook: Brown and Hillard are returning all-state selections in their fourth seasons playing varsity for the Panthers, who return their top six scorers and several impact defenders from last season. DeWitt has added depth with a talented group of juniors joining the mix. With the talent back, the Panthers have high expectations and aim to challenge for a CAAC title.

EAST LANSING

Last season: 3-9 (8th)

Coach: Brendan Martin (1st season)

Top returners: Izzy Watson (jr.) M, Anna Phillips (sr.) M; Kalyn Emerson (sr.) A; Annabelle Letts (jr.) G

Other contributors: Cadillac Martin (jr.) A, Amiah Morris (sr.) M, Lizzie Fortino (sr.) A

Outlook: Watson and Phillips are returning all-state selections and Emerson is a fourth-year starter for the Trojans. Coach Martin said East Lansing has a lot of talent and hopes to challenge for a CAAC title and make a playoff run.

HASLETT-WILLIAMSTON

Coach: Chad Pastor (5th season)

Top returners: Kylie Pastor (sr.) G, Emma Kincaid (Sr.) M/D, Abby Russell (so.) M, Audrey Kroeger (jr.) A, Abigail Brooks (sr.) D, Rhiannon Kewin (sr.) A, Kendall Charchut (jr.) A, Vanessa Lardie (so.) D, Brooklyn Stellard (so.) M

Outlook: Kylie Pastor earned All-American and all-state accolades, while Kincaid and Russell are returning all-state selections for Haslett-Williamston, which is coming off a strong season that featured a run to the state semifinals. Pastor is headed to Coastal Carolina and Kincaid is slated to play at Kent State. With much of the offensive firepower back that contributed to last year’s historic season, the goals are big for Haslett-Williamston.

LANSING CATHOLIC

Last season: 10-7

Coach: Dwyane Mason (3rd season)

Top returners: Sarah Hicks (sr.) A, Gabriella Torgerson (sr.) M, Emily Putman (sr.) G, Makena Collins (sr.) D, Gaby Schultz (so.) D, Cara McDonald (so.) A, Zoe Meyer (so.) D, Lily Schultz (so.) D, Elle Chee (so.) M

Other contributors: Josie Sarata (fr.) M, Vivienne Hagen (fr.) M, Sara Tolfree (fr.) A, Katelyn Melling (fr.) A

Outlook: Hicks, Torgeson and Putman are fourth-year varsity players and will lead what is a young squad. Mason said their leadership will be important as the youth adjusts to the varsity level.

OKEMOS

Last season: 9-9

Coach: Kevin Kaiser (1st season)

Top returners: Bailey Foltz (sr.) A, Lana Hawks (jr.) M, Annelise Rommeck (sr.) G, Josie Winslow (sr.) D/M, Maddie Carrier (sr.) A

Other contributors: Mallorie Morris (so.) A/M, Anna Contreras (so.) D

Outlook: Foltz and Rommeck were all-state selections last season. They are joined by Hawks, Winslow and Carrier as third- or fourth-year varsity players for the Wolves. With the returning core, Okemos aims to rebound from its .500 mark in 2023. Defense is a strength for Okemos with a majority of its players back in that area.

OVID-ELSIE/ST. JOHNS

Last season: 4-10

Coach: Jeff Draher (5th season)
