Meet the Des Moines Register's 2023 Preseason All-Iowa Football Teams
The Des Moines Register is pleased to announce its 2023 Preseason All-Iowa Football Teams ahead of the high school football season.
A total of 81 selections — 27 each on a First-, Second- and Third-Team, featuring players from Class 5A down to 8-player — were made by writers from the Register, Iowa City Press-Citizen and Ames Tribune, along with input from coaches statewide.
This season, the Register introduced an ‘athlete’ distinction for each team. Players selected for this position are ones who do just about everything for their team and play on both offense and defense.

The Register’s All-Iowa Football Team, honoring the state’s best players for the 2023 season, will appear in early December.
