Meet the 2023 T&G Hometeam high school softball Super Team
The following athletes were named to the T&G Hometeam softball Super Team, as nominated by area coaches and selected by the T&G staff.
Player of the Year
Madison Kiley
Hudson High, Senior
Third base
Kiley batted .480 to help lead the Hawks to the quarterfinals of the Division 3 state tournament and earned her second Mid-Wach A MVP honor. She is the Hometeam Softball Player of the Year. Kiley, a team captain, hit four home runs and had 34 RBIs to help power Hudson’s offense, which averaged 11.6 runs per game. The Hawks finished 18-6 and captured the Central Mass. Athletic Directors Association Class B championship, which was Kiley’s most memorable moment of the season. She finished her outstanding career with a program-record 141 hits, 15 home runs and a .460 batting average. In the fall, she will attend UMass, where she will study civil engineering and play club softball and/or basketball. She is the daughter of Hollie Bloom and Mark Kiley of Hudson.

Danielle Belliveau
Monty Tech, Senior
Shortstop
Belliveau batted .675 to rank fourth in Central Mass. and lead the Bulldogs to a 15-6 record and the Colonial Athletic League title. Monty Tech earned a berth in the Division 3 state tournament. Belliveau, who was captain of the softball and basketball teams this year, had an on-base percentage of .880. She had 56 hits, 23 RBIs and 28 stolen bases, and she scored 45 runs. Belliveau was a CAL All-Star. Her most memorable moment of the season was Senior Night. In the fall, she will attend Franklin Pierce University, where she will study accounting. She is the daughter of Jennifer and Dale Belliveau of Baldwinville.
Cali Brouillard
Millbury High, Senior
Catcher
Brouillard led the Woolies with a .514 batting average and helped Millbury to the second round of the Division 4 state tournament. She had 8 doubles, 6 triples and 4 homers, and drove in 29 runs. She was excellent defensively with a .992 fielding percentage and just two errors, while helping Millbury to a 15-7 record. She was a team captain and a SWCL all-star. In the fall, Brouillard will attend Worcester State University, where she will major in occupational studies. She is the daughter of Erika Pranaitis and William Brouillard of Millbury.
Lizzie Brytkowski
Hopedale High, Junior
Pitcher
Brytkowski posted an ERA of 2.60 and struck out 178 to help lead the Blue Raiders to the second round of the Division 5 state tournament. She had 12 strikeouts in Hopedale’s first-round win over McCann Tech. Brytkowski batted .446 and drove in 19 runs for Hopedale, which finished 15-7. Brytkowski, a first-team Dual Valley Conference in softball and field hockey, was the DVC Pitcher of the Year. Her most memorable moment of the season was Hopedale’s 8-3 victory at conference rival Nipmuc Regional, when she recorded her 100th strikeout of the year. She is the daughter of Kristi and Jesse Brytkowski of Hopedale.
Taylor Coonan
Grafton High, Senior
Pitcher
Coonan repeated as a Super Team honoree after leading the Gators to the second round of the Division 2 state tournament. Coonan finished another outstanding season 14-6 and with a 1.53 ERA. She struck out 153 and walked 18. Coonan was also a force at the plate as she batted .473 and drove in 21 runs. Coonan was a co-captain and SWCL All-Star. Her most memorable moment of the season was her five-hit shutout of Doherty, which started the Gators on a nine-game winning streak. In the fall, Coonan will attend James Madison University, where she will study health science. She is the daughter of Jessica and Michael Coonan of Grafton.
Kylie Doherty
Nashoba Regional, Senior
Catcher/Shortstop
Doherty blasted a Central Mass.-leading 10 home runs and batted .677 to rank third in the area. She led the Wolves to the second round of the Division 2 state tournament and a record of 17-4. Doherty was a team captain and the Mid-Wach B MVP. Doherty drove in 28 runs. Her most memorable moment of the season was the opportunity to work with her younger teammates. Doherty was a two-time Super Team selection in volleyball. In the fall, Doherty will attend Boston University, where she will study political science and play softball. She hopes to attend law school and become a defense attorney. She is the daughter of Rina and Paul Doherty of Bolton.
Gracie Granger
Wachusett Regional, Senior
Third base
Granger helped lead the Mountaineers on a tremendous 23-game winning streak and to the second round of the Division 1 state tournament. Wachusett’s 2-1 loss to North Andover was its only setback of the season. Capturing the Central Mass. Athletic Directors Association Class A championship was Granger’s most memorable moment of the season. She drove in three runs in Wachusett’s 6-0 win over St. Paul in the final. Granger, a team captain, batted .391, scored 13 runs and had 16 RBIs. She had a .944 fielding percentage, and was her team’s MVP. In the fall, Granger will attend UMass-Boston, where she will study exercise science. She is the daughter of Aimee and Timothy Granger of Paxton.
Peyton Maloney
West Boylston High, Senior
Pitcher
Maloney earned her third straight Super Team honor and finished her outstanding career with 674 strikeouts. This spring, she struck out 235 and walked just 17 in 129 innings. She finished 18-3 and with an ERA of 0.83. Maloney led her team in batting average (.548) and RBIs (26), and she helped the Lions to the quarterfinals of the Division 5 state tournament. Maloney was a three-year captain and a three-time team MVP. She earned her second Mid-Wach D League MVP honor. In the fall, she will attend Worcester State University, where she will study psychology and criminal justice and play softball. She is the daughter of Joanna and David Maloney of West Boylston.
Bella Mara
St. Paul, Sophomore
Pitcher
Taking over as the Knights’ ace this spring, Mara struck out 201 in 136-2/3 innings and had a 1.20 ERA. She helped lead St. Paul to the Central Mass. Athletic Directors Class A final and the second round of the Division 1 state tournament. Mara batted .572 to rank second on her team. She hit four homers and drove in 16 runs. Mara’s most memorable moment of the season was her no-hitter against Doherty, when she struck out 17 and led the Knights to a 4-0 win. St. Paul’s annual autism awareness game with Nashoba Regional was another 2023 highlight. She is the daughter of Tara and Daniel Mara of Worcester.
Erin O’Day
Uxbridge High, Freshman
Pitcher/Third base
O’Day struck out 151 in 100 innings and helped lead the Spartans to the SWCL B title and the quarterfinals of the Division 4 state tournament, which was O’Day’s most memorable moment of the season. The Spartans, whose roster featured 3 sophomores, 3 freshmen and 4 eighth-graders, finished 19-4. O’Day, who posted a 2.01 ERA, pitched a five-inning perfect game with eight strikeouts against Oxford. She struck out 13 in a five-inning no-hitter against Southbridge. O’Day batted .439 and drove in 25 runs while earning SWCL all-star honors. She is the daughter of Sherry and Wayne O’Day of Uxbridge.
Ella Repole
Clinton High, Senior
Pitcher
Repole helped lead the Gaels to a historic 2023 season. Their 18-3 record was the best in program history, and they advanced to the Division 4 state semifinals, which was Repole’s most memorable moment of the season. Repole struck out 175 and pitched three shutouts, including two in the state tournament. She finished her career with 413 strikeouts. Repole led Clinton to the Central Mass. Athletic Directors Association Class C championship. In the final against Tyngsborough, she got out of a bases-loaded jam with two outs in the seventh to lift the Gaels to a 2-1 win. Repole helped Clinton to the Mid-Wach C League crown and was the league’s MVP. In the fall, she will attend Bentley University, where she will study actuarial science. She is the daughter of Coann and Joseph Repole of Clinton.
Tiegan Walsh
Wachusett Regional, Sophomore
Shortstop/Catcher
The versatile Walsh led the Mountaineers in batting average (.532), home runs (3) and RBIs (32), and helped Wachusett win 23 straight games before falling in the second round of the Division 1 state tournament. Winning the Central Mass. Athletic Directors Association Class A championship was Walsh’s most memorable moment of the season. In Wachusett’s 6-0 victory over St. Paul in the final, Walsh went 2 for 3 and scored three runs. Walsh finished the year with a .823 slugging percentage and .589 on-base percentage. She stole 13 bases and was outstanding defensively with a .900 fielding percentage. She is the daughter of Laura and David Walsh of Sterling.
