Meet the 2023 T&G Hometeam high school girls' lacrosse Super Team
The following athletes were named to the T&G Hometeam girls' lacrosse Super Team, as nominated by area coaches and selected by the T&G staff.
Player of the Year
Caity Tyldesley
Grafton High
Junior, Midfield
A catalyst for the Gators this spring, Tyldesley played a big role in her team going 18-2 and clinching a No. 8 seed in the Division 2 MIAA playoffs. A junior midfielder, Tyldesley scored 96 goals and added 68 assists while surpassing 400 points for her career. Tyldesley was named to the Mid. Mass League all-star team and was also a USA Lacrosse All-American for a second straight year and selected to play for the Massachusetts/Rhode Island regional team in the USA Lacrosse Women’s National Tournament. A three-time T&G All-Star for lacrosse and daughter of Barbara and Glenn Tyldesley of Grafton, Tyldesley will play lacrosse at University of Connecticut.
Kiley Cuddahy
Leominster High
Senior, Midfield
This senior midfielder set a program record for points in a season with 127 (66 goals, 61 assists) to help Leominster make a run to Division 2 quarterfinals. Cuddahy’s most memorable moment of the season came in a 10-7 win over Algonquin in the CMADA Class A championship on May 30. The Mid-Wach B MVP and a USA Lacrosse All-America selection this year, Cuddahy will study business and finance at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, where she’ll play lacrosse. Cuddahy is the daughter of Karen and Colin Cuddahy of Leominster.
Madeleine Langevin
Notre Dame Academy
Senior, Goal
After starting the sport in eighth grade and volunteering to play goalie the same year, this senior captain capped her high school career in style in net for Notre Dame Academy. Langevin set a program record for saves in a game (25), season (278) and career 532) to help NDA go 14-6 and win a Division 3 playoff game. A three-sport captain in lacrosse, field hockey and ice hockey, Langevin will study physiology in health and disease at the University of Denver, where she’ll play ice hockey. Langevin is the daughter of Lisa and Christopher Langevin of Jefferson.
Rileigh Leary
Wachusett Regional
Junior, Midfield
This 6-foot midfielder did a little bit of everything this spring for the Mountaineers as the junior compiled 52 goals, 57 assists, 117 draw controls and 52 ground balls en route to being named the Mid-Wach A MVP. Leary, who has 219 career points, also was named a USA Lacrosse All-American and selected to the Massachusetts/Rhode Island regional team for the USA Lacrosse Women’s National Tournament. The daughter of Margaret and Sean Leary of Holden, Leary hopes to study political science in college.
Fallon Lozano
Nipmuc Regional
Sophomore, Attack
This feisty 5-foot-3 attacker produced at a high level for coach Grace Merten’s squad this spring. Lozano scored 89 goals and added 30 assists to surpass 200 career points, and her hat trick helped the Warriors beat Tahanto, 15-14, in four overtimes in the CMADA Class B title game. Lozano also scored five goals in the Warriors’ Division 4 playoff victory over Winthrop. Lozano, the daughter of Crystal and James Lozano of Upton, will represent Team Massachusetts Class of 2025 at the American Select tournament in July.
Maddie Mrva
Shrewsbury High
Senior, Midfield
A three-sport Super Team selection in field hockey, ice hockey and lacrosse, Mrva didn’t disappoint in her final high school lacrosse season. The Shrewsbury High senior captain collected 15 goals and 13 assists from her midfield position to earn Mid-Wach All-Star honors and bolster her résumé for being named the T&G Girl Athlete of the Year. A two-year captain and two-time T&G All-Star for lacrosse, Mrva also led the Colonials’ girls’ hockey team to a state championship this winter. The daughter of Carrie and Matt Mrva of Shrewsbury, Mrva will play field hockey at Bowdoin College.
Kristin Podgorni
Bromfield School
Junior, Midfield
This junior midfielder provided a bright spot for Bromfield this spring. Podgorni, a captain, compiled 85 goals, 31 assists and 91 draw controls and was named a Colonial Athletic League All-Star. The 5-foot-8 Podgorni scored four goals in the Trojans’ 17-16 win over Wachusett on May 10. “It was one of the best games of the season,” the 17-year-old said. “Our team really came together and played as one, it was great to see.” An avid surfer who wants to become a physical therapist, Podgorni is the daughter of Erica and Derek Podgorni of Littleton.
Gigi Rhind
Algonquin Regional
Senior, Midfield
A menace for opposing teams in the midfield, this senior collected 23 goals, 19 assists, 49 caused turnovers, 30 ground balls and 102 draw controls for the Titans this spring. Algonquin’s Team MVP, Rhind also earned Mid-Wach A all-star honors and was named a USA Lacrosse All-American. An avid skier, Rhind will study nursing and play lacrosse at Assumption University. She is the daughter of Nicole and Matt Rhind of Southborough.
Julia Rubinow
Tahanto Regional
Eighth grade, Attack
A talented point producer, this 5-foot-10 attacker led all of Central Mass. in scoring as an eighth grader with 99 goals and 83 assists, and already has more than 406 career points with Tahanto. A Mid-Wach C all-star, Rubinow helped the Stags win a Mid-Wach C championship and their first MIAA playoff game, a 24-11 victory over Littleton. A T&G honorable mention last year, Rubinow will represent Team Massachusetts at American Select this summer. She is the daughter of Jessica and Eric Rubinow of Boylston.
Gabriella Santucci
Leominster High
Senior, Midfield
Santucci was a spark plug for a Leominster squad that went 17-3 during the regular season, won a CMADA Class A championship and advanced to the Division 2 quarterfinals. Santucci, a captain, compiled 84 goals and 25 assists to earn Mid-Wach B MVP honors. Over her high school career, the daughter of Stephanie and Steven Santucci of Leominster racked up 203 goals, 75 assists, 136 ground balls, 73 caused turnovers and 320 draw controls. A two-time T&G All-Star for lacrosse, Santucci will play the sport at University of Oregon, where she’ll study business and marketing.
Alison Stevens
Tahanto Regional
Sophomore, Midfield
Along with Rubinow, this sophomore midfielder provided a dynamic 1-2 punch on offense for the Stags, as Stevens finished with 97 goals and 48 assists this spring. A captain, Stevens earned Mid-Wach C MVP honors and was named to the T&G Super Team for a second straight season. Stevens scored seven goals, including the winner in quadruple overtime over Tyngsborough, on April 25. The daughter of Christine and Jim Stevens of Berlin, Stevens helped Tahanto post its first MIAA playoff victory this spring.
Ava Wilde
Algonquin Regional
Senior, Attack/Midfield
A versatile puzzle piece for the Titans, Wilde moved all over the board and produced 76 goals and 57 assists in a hybrid a role this spring. The senior captain eclipsed 300 points for a career that included being named a three-time Mid-Wach A all-star, two-time T&G All-Star and two-time All-American. Also a talented soccer player, the daughter of Anita Bhatt of Northborough will play lacrosse at the University of Vermont, where Wilde plans to study physical therapy.
