NJSIAA Sectional Public Finals

Central Group 4

(1) Old Bridge 8, (5) East Brunswick 0

Frank Papeo fired five shutout innings with seven strikeouts allowing just two hits and a walk as Old Bridge advanced to Friday’s sectional final.

The Knights (19-8) will host second-seeded North Brunswick, which defeated Monroe 4-3 in the other semifinal.

Old Bridge broke open the game with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Justin Meyer finished with two scoreless innings with a strikeout and gave up a hit and a walk.

Kyle McSorley homered and drove in three runs and Thomas Papeo went 3-for-3 with two RBI. Mike Villani tripled and was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Frank Papeo also singled and drove in a run and Shaun Bogda and Justin Hascup (double) each added hits.

For fifth-seeded East Brunswick (15-12), Jason Agrait, Jack Gerould, Joe Ditzel and Jack Ryan each had a hit.

North Brunswick beat Old Bridge twice in the regular season by scores of 6-1 and 3-2 on April 13 and April 15.

North 2 Group 3

(6) North Hunterdon 3, (2) Cranford 0

Chris Sand threw a gem with seven shutout innings and six strikeouts, allowing just two hits and three walks as North Hunterdon scored a major upset over state power Cranford (26-1).

The Lions (18-6) will play at top-seeded Millburn in Friday’s final.

Nick Hernandez and Alex Turner each singled and drove in a run for North Hunterdon and Wyatt Demeo was 3-for-4 and scored. Eddie Appollina (double) and Alex Famolari each had a hit and scored.

(1) Millburn 2, (4) South Plainfield 1

Drew Oppenheim allowed one run in six innings with seven strikeouts and Millburn (26-3) scored in the second and fifth innings to top South Plainfield (15-14)

Central Group

(3) Spotswood 5, (10) Delran 3

Carter Cumiskey allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts and scattered six hits and two walks as Spotswood advanced.

The Chargers (21-7) will play at top-seeded Rumson-Fair Haven in Friday’s final.

Spotswood scored three times in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead. Jackson Walsh threw the final 1 1/3 innings. Cumiskey went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Casey Cumiskey was 2-for-3 (double) and scored.

Breckyn DeAngelis doubled and scored, and Sebby Saracino walked and scored twice.

Central Group 1

(3) Middlesex 7, (2) Shore 2

Michael Canavesio went the distance allowing two runs and scattering seven hits and two walks with seven strikeouts as Middlesex pulled the upset.

The Blue Jays (17-8) will play at top-seeded Point Pleasant Beach in Friday’s final.

Justin Gordon went 4-for-4 (double) with two runs scored for Middlesex and Aidan Kozak was 2-for-4 with three RBI. Alfonso Esposito also had a two-hit day and scored twice. Jack Adamski (RBI), Dom Parenti (RBI) and Chris Kozak (2 runs) each singled in the win.

(1) Point Pleasant Beach 10, (5) Manville 0

Point Pleasant Beach (22-5) broke open the game with eight runs in the bottom of the third as Manville (14-8) upset bid fell short.

North 2 Group 1

(1) Wood-Ridge 8, (5) New Providence 6

Nick Santacross (2 hits) and Ryan Grill each drove in two runs as New Providence’s (12-14) upset bid fell short. Wood-Ridge (20-8) scored four times in the bottom of the fifth to take an 8-5 lead. Andrew Kowantz and Luca Vitale (2 runs) each had hits for the Pioneers.

NJSIAA Sectionals Quarterfinals

Central Group 4

(1) Old Bridge 10, (9) West Windsor-Plainsboro South 0 (5 innings)

Justin Hascup fired a one-hitter with no walks and five strikeouts in the five inning game as the Knights advanced.

Old Bridge (18-8) will host fifth-seeded East Brunswick in Tuesday’s semifinals.

The Knights broke it open with nine runs in the bottom of the fifth to make it 10-0.

Thomas Papeo had a big day going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Evan Smith (RBI), Justin Meyer (RBI) and Adam Scire each went 2-for-3 in the win. Kyle McSorley and Mike Villani (RBI) added singles. Additionally, Frank Papeo walked twice and scored, John Smith walked and scored and Hascup scored a run.

(5) East Brunswick 7, (13) Manalapan 1

Joe Ditzel delivered a gem and East Brunswick’s bats belted 10 hits in the win.

The Bears ( 15-11) will travel to Old Bridge for Tuesday’s semifinal.

Ditzel threw six shutout innings allowing just one hit, two walks and a hit batter with nine strikeouts to keep Manalapan (9-17-1) guessing. Aaron Warner finished the game.

The Bears led 7-0 entering the final frame by scoring a run in the bottom of the first, two in the third, three in the fifth and one more in the sixth inning.

John Oranchak singled and drove in two runs, while Jack Gerould (3 runs, BB), Ryan Schultz (run) and Jack Ryan (double) had two hits apiece. Dustin McGuinness (RBI, run), Jack Nelson and Derrick Christie (RBI) each singled.

(2) North Brunswick 5, (10) South Brunswick 1

The North Brunswick baseball team has produced several memorable moments and big-time wins over the last few seasons.

Thursday, Justin Batts provided another. The senior slugged a walk-off grand slam and the Raiders celebration was on.

North Brunswick (20-6) hosts Monroe – another GMC Red Division team – in Tuesday’s semifinals.

Batts, who transferred back to North Brunswick after spending two seasons at Bergen Catholic, went 3-for-4 with five RBI in the win.

Omar Carreras was 2-for-4 and scored, while Yomar Carreras (double, walk, run), Zack Konstantinovsky (2 BB, 2 runs) and Frankie Garbolino had a hit apiece.

Konstantinovsky pitched 4 2/3 shutout innings allowing two hits and no walks with nine strikeouts. Alejandro Jabar earned the win by allowing a run in 2 1/3 innings with six strikeouts.

This is the third time this season that North Brunswick topped South Brunswick.

For South Brunswick (11-14), Ethan Fantel had a good start giving up a run in 5 1/3 innings with six strikeouts. Will Haman went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and Fantel (double), Colin Perna (double) and Jack Leach each had a hit.

(6) Monroe 9, (3) Jackson Memorial 8

Monroe won a slugfest on the road to pull the upset and will advance to Tuesday’s semifinals against a familiar opponent.

The Falcons (14-10) will play at North Brunswick in Tuesday’s semifinals.

Monroe moved on by erupting for six runs in the third inning to seize a 7-5 lead. Jackson Memorial (17-8) tied it with two in the bottom of the fourth. The teams traded runs in the fifth inning. The Falcons scored the winning run in the sixth.

Nick Sellari drove in two runs and Aidan Lane went 2-for-5 and scored twice with an RBI. Kyle McCauley also had a two-game with an RBI and a run scored. Lucas White (run), Harrison Lollin (run), Trevor Wallace (RBI), Larry Casey (RBI, run) an Michael Ortiz (RBI) each had a hit. Jack Lobue also walked, scored and had an RBI.

North Brunswick won twice over Monroe in the regular season by scores of 10-0 and 1-0 and then 2-1 in the GMCT semifinals.

North 2 Group 4

(1) Ridge 8, (8) Westfield 1

Connor Byrne and Brendan Callanan combined to slow Westfield as Ridge advanced. The Red Devils (26-3) will host fifth-seeded Bayonne in Tuesday’s semifinals.

Ridge jumped to a 4-0 lead after the first inning and increased it to 7-0 entering the fifth.

Byrne allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings with six strikeouts allowing three hits and two walks. Callanan threw 1 2/3 perfect innings with four strikeouts.

Callanan went 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored at bat and Byrne doubled with two RBI. Nick Rossi singled and drove in two runs. Additionally, Julian Kielb (RBI, run), Luke Somelofske (run) and Matt Shawah each had a hit. Nick Sellitti also scored twice.

For Westfield (13-10), Tomas Cestero (run), Kellen Edwards and Owen Callahan each singled.

(3) Woodbridge 3, (11) Watchung Hills 2

Drew Lukachyk drove in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning as Woodbridge advanced to the semifinals for the second straight season.

The Barrons (20-5) will travel to second-seeded Bridgewater-Raritan for Tuesday’s semifinals.

Eddy Nunez earned the win by throwing 3 1/3 scoreless innings and allowed just a hit with six strikeouts. Tim Deignan went 3-for-3 with an RBI and run scored. Tyler Weber singled and drove in a run and Dean Fiore and Shawn Kish each had a bit. AJ Bosch walked and scored.

For Watchung Hills (10-14), Trenon Standard went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

North 2 Group 3

(4) South Plainfield 10, (12) Warren Hills 0 (5 innings)

Kevin Penny threw five shutout innings and allowed two hits and two walks with five strikeouts as South Plainfield earned the big win to advance.

South Plainfield (15-13) will play at top-seeded Millburn in Thursday’s semifinals.

The Tigers scored three runs in the bottom of the first to set the tone.

Dom Massaro went 3-for-3 with two RBI, a double, 2 runs and walk and Zack Robinson was 2-for-2 (double, RBI, 2 runs, 2 SB). Dan Kapsch (RBI), Ashton Donovan (double, 2 RBI), Aldo Pigna (double, RBI, 2 runs), Brian Potts (double, RBI, run) and Frank Flannery (double, RBI, run).

(6) North Hunterdon 6, (3) Randolph 1

Senior right-hander Eddie Appollina allowed a run in five innings as the Lions advanced. North Hunterdon (17-6) will play at No. 2 Cranford in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Central Group 2

(12) Ocean Township 9, (4) Carteret 2

Ocean Township jumped to a 5-0 lead after the second inning and pulled the upset over Carteret (17-8). Justin Ortiz singled and had an RBI for the Ramblers and Rashad Bennett, Drexler Rodriguez and Jhoalvin Ledesma each had a hit.

Central Group 1

(5) Manville 2, (13) New Egypt 1 (8 innings)

Freshman Josh D’Ambrosio singled home James Mascola for the walk-off win in extra innings.

The Mustangs (14-7) will play at top-seeded Point Pleasant Beach in Tuesday’s semifinals.

Joshua Barrios went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the win. Logan Klementovicz earned the victory on the mound by pitching two shutout innings. Mascola gave a strong start by allowing one run in six innings with nine strikeouts.

(3) Middlesex 5, (6) Palmyra 2

Michael Canavesio allowed one run in seven innings with 10 strikeouts as the Blue Jays advanced in Wednesday’s win.

Middlesex (16-8) will go to second-seeded Shore in Tuesday’s semifinals.

Justin Gordon went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Dom Parenti was 3-for-3 and scored twice. Chris Kozak (RBI) and Tomas Lavornia (RBI, run) each had two hits in the win.

(2) Shore 2, (7) South Amboy (1)

South Amboy’s upset bid fell short when Shore scored a walk-off win with a run in the bottom of the seventh. Steven Evanski singled and had an RBI for the Governors (13-7) and Gabriel Albarran went 2-for-4 with a run.

North 2 Group 1

(5) New Providence 11, (4) Dayton 6

New Providence outslugged Dayton and advanced to Tuesday’s semifinals against top-seeded W00d-Ridge.

Jake Monaco (RBI, 3 runs), Sean Reilly (3 RBI, run) and Luca Vitale (RBI, 3 runs) each laced three hits in the win. Andrew Kowantz (RBI, 2 runs) and Robby Roth (2 RBI, run) each added two hits. James Miller (RBI, run), Vinny Bisaccia (RBI) and Nick Santacross (RBI) each had a hit.

NJSIAA Sectionals First Round

Non-Public North B

(7) Gill St. Bernard’s 9, (10) Morristown-Beard 7

John DiGregorio went 2-for-3 with four RBI and a double as Gill St. Bernard’s rallied for the win.

The Knights (9-14) will play at second-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas in Friday’s quarterfinal.

GSB trailed 7-0 but scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth and four in the sixth to pull out the win. Zack Wendell went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Matthew Park (2 RBI), Tim Park (RBI, double) and Dylan Sempervive (2 runs) each had two hits in the win.

(8) Hawthorne Christian 10, (9) Timothy Christian 0

Joshua Francis, Jimmy Mclaughlin, Joshua Thiero and Ben Wang each singled for Timothy Christian (5-12) in the loss.

Non-Public South A

(7) Paul VI 6, (10) Immaculata 2

Jayden Capindica (double, RBI), Danny Ferguson (double, RBI) and Dan Brea (run) each had two hits as Immaculata (9-15) was eliminated.

NJSIAA Sectionals First Round

North 2, Group 4

(1) Ridge 10, (16) Piscataway 1

Connor Byrne had a three-RBI triple and struck out 10 on the mound as Ridge broke open a tight game with seven runs in the bottom of the fourth.

The Red Devils (24-3) will host Westfield in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Julian Kielb went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Brendan Callanan (2 RBI) and Nick Rossi had two hits apiece. Luke Somelofske singled and walked with an RBI and scored twice and Brady Wilson singled and drove in a run.

For Piscataway (7-15) in its upset attempt, Jaden Peace singled and had an RBI and Bobby Bressler, Riley Wingate (run) and Dominick Summonte each added hits.

(8) Westfield 5, (9) Franklin 3

Tomas Cestero had an outstanding start as he had 12 strikeouts and allowed an unearned run off of three hits and two walks in six innings as Westfield advanced.

The Blue Devils (13-9) will play at Ridge in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Randy Davis went 3-for-4 with two RBI and doubled and tripled and Braedan Trajkovski was 2-for-4 (double) with an RBI. Kevin Dowling, who pitched 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, singled and had an RBI and Jake Alfano, Leo Mangiamele (run), Nic Labin and Kellen Edwards (run) each had a hit.

Franklin (12-11) rallied with two runs in the top of the seventh, but couldn’t get closer.

(2) Bridgewater-Raritan 20, (15) Dickinson 1

JR Rosado homered with three RBI and Owen Crimmins and Kevin Lee shined on the mound as Bridgewater-Raritan advanced.

The Panthers (20-6) will play seventh-seeded Hunterdon Central in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

B-R jumped to a 5-1 lead after the first inning. Crimmins allowed a run in three innings off of one hit with no walks and struck out six, while Lee threw two shutout innings with two K’s.

Kellen Komline doubled twice and drove in three runs, while Matthew Baxter had two RBI. Having a hit apiece were James Turchi (RBI), Michael Fattore (2 RBI), Frankie Verano, Michael Taylor, Gavin Onello, Matthew Lehberger (2 RBI) and Tim Travisano (2 RBI).

(7) Hunterdon Central 14, (10) Scotch Plains-Fanwood 2

Jared Cassella went 3-for-3 with four RBI and missed a cycle by a home run as Hunterdon Central scored the big opening round win.

The Red Devils (13-9) play No. 2 Bridgewater-Raritan in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Hunterdon Central scored eight times in the bottom of the second to take a 10-2 lead. Jimmie Lundari (double, triple) and Kyle Yasunas each had two hits and three RBI. Andrew Nguyen added two hits (RBI) and Nick Augusta (2 RBI), Noah Baird (RBI) and Luke Breuer each had a hit.

For Scotch Plains-Fanwood (9-16), Ryan Cawley and Sean Ferrone each had two hits.

(3) Woodbridge 9, (14) J.P. Stevens 1

Eddy Nunez allowed a run in 4 2/3 innings with six strikeouts and allowed just a hit and a walk as Woodbridge advanced.

The Barrons (19-5) will play Watchung Hills in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Shawn Kish threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings with no hits and a walk with three strikeouts.

A.J. Bosch (2 RBI), Ty Kobylakiewic (2 RBI, triple) and Kish each had two hits in the win. Tyler Weber (3 runs), Drew Lukachyk (RBI), Tim Deignan (2 run) and Dean Fiore (RBI, 2 runs) each had a hit.

For J.P. Stevens (7-18) Mahir Patel hit a solo homer.

(11) Watchung Hills 1, (6) Edison 0

Jake Keirstead went 2-for-2 with an RBI in a pitcher’s duel as Watchung Hills advanced with the upset.

The Warriors (10-13) will play No. 3 Woodbridge in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Trenon Stanard hurled seven shutout innings allowing four hits and two walks with two strikeouts. He also walked and scored. Martin Howell and Tino Lobozzo also got hits for the Warriors.

Edison’s Jaxon Appelman nearly matched him by allowing a run in seven innings off of three hits and two walks. Jackson Ferrer, Robert Roma (double), Jordan Martins and Matt Yascko Jr. had hits for the Eagles.

Central, Group 4

(2) North Brunswick 10, (15) Long Branch 0 (5 innings)

Kyle Anderson fired a two-hitter and five shutout innings with seven strikeouts as North Brunswick advanced.

The Raiders (19-6) will play South Brunswick in Thursday’s quarterfinals. North Brunswick scored three runs in the second and third innings and four more in the fifth to seal it.

Frankie Garbolino singled twice and scored three times and Zack Konstantinovsky (2 RBI), Sammy Berardo (double, 2 RBI), Justin Batts (run) and Josh Rodriguez (RBI, 2 runs) each had a hit. Yomar Carreras walked, had a RBI and scored.

(10) South Brunswick 3, at (7) Sayreville 1

Ethan Fantel homered and Joey Tuttoilmondo pitched another big game as South Brunswick advanced.

The Vikings will play at North Brunswick in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Tuttoilmondo threw seven shutout innings with 12 strikeouts and allowed just a hit and two walks. South Brunswick scored three runs in the sixth for the win.

Fantel went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Will Haman (run) doubled twice and Brian Culhane (run, double) and Daniel Krik each had hits in the win.

For Sayreville (14-10), Aidan Crimmins and Michael Novak each had hits and Aayush Mehta had a good start with nine strikeouts, allowing three runs and five hits in seven innings.

(6) Monroe 11, (11) Hillsborough 1 (6 innings)

Harrison Lollin had a big all-around game to lead Monroe.

The Falcons (13-8) will play at Jackson Memorial in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Lollin struck out seven in six innings allowing just a run, two hits and a walk. At the plate, he went 3-for-3 with an RBI, two runs and walk.

Aidan Lane (RBI, 2 runs), Lucas White (2 RBI, run) and Larry Casey (2 runs) had two hits apiece and Kyle McCauley singled and drove in three runs. Nick Sellari also singled, walked and scored.

For Hillsborough (10-15), Alex Reiling doubled with an RBI and Matt Wescott (run) and Avery Whitney each had a hit.

(5) East Brunswick 4, (12) Howell 1

Jason Agrait homered and Dustin McGuinness went the distance on a four-hitter and didn’t allow an earned run as East Brunswick won in a rematch of last year’s sectional final.

The Bears (13-11) will host Manalapan in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

East Brunswick scored twice in the third and sixth innings as McGuinness worked his magic on the mound. He also doubled and scored. Derrick Christie added a two-RBI single for the Bears.

Frank Papeo stepped up on the mound by throwing a two-hitter with just one walk and eight strikeouts as Old Bridge advanced.

The Knights (17-8) will host West Windsor-Plainsboro South in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Thomas Papeo singled, scored and drove in a run and Justin Hascup also had an RBI. Justin Meyer reached base with a single and Frank Papeo and John Smith each walked and scored.

(9) West Windsor-Plainsboro South 7, (8) Montgomery 5

West Windsor-Plainsboro South scored five runs in the top of the seventh to pull out the upset.

The Pirates (12-14) will play at Old Bridge in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Cole Schulberg went 3-for-3 for Montgomery (11-11) and Jeremy Wacker (double) and Justin Swerdlow had a hit apiece and an RBI.

Central Group 2

(3) Spotswood 1, (14) Monmouth 0 (8 innings)

Freshman Ryan Orth scored from second on an errand throw from behind the mound that went up the line to end the game as Spotswood advanced in the exciting win.

The Chargers (19-7) will host Wall in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Both starting pitchers were dominant with Spotswood's Carter Cumiskey going 6 2/3 innings, giving up four hits, striking out 11 and walking three. He matched zeros with Monmouth senior Christian Zito who worked into the 8th for Monmouth before taking the hard luck loss. Zito had 10 strikeouts and two walks, pitching a 3-hitter.

The final frame began with Orth working a walk. Freshman Gavin Romeo would advance Orth on a two-strike sac bunt up the 1st base line.

An out later, senior Breckyn DeAngelis came to the plate versus Zito. DeAngelis then hit the next pitch with a chopper behind the mound which was thrown wide to score the game winning run.

Senior Jackson Walsh relieved Cumiskey and claimed the win in 1 1/3 innings of work with two strikeouts and no walks.

(4) Carteret 6, (13) East Brunswick Tech 2

Justin Santana struck out 10 in 4 1/3 innings and allowed a run, one hit and two walks as Carteret advanced.

The Ramblers (17-7) scored three times in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead.

Nick Kee finished and allowed an unearned run in 2 2/3 innings with four strikeouts.

Santana also went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Eric Thompson (RBI) and Jared Nelan (RBI) each had two hits. Rashad Bennett singled and walked twice and scored two times. Jhoalvin Ledesma also singled.

For the Tigers (12-8), Ryan Dellafave (double, run), Tommy Oneil, Scott Pede and Michael Zappola had hits and Jack Clements drove in a run.

(12) Ocean 10, (5) South River 7

Ocean jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the third inning and held off a late rally by the Rams to advance.

South River scored four times in the fifth and one in the sixth and seventh innings, but it wasn't enough. For South River, Julius Rosado was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBI and a home run. James Zsorey finished 3-for-4 for the Rams and Matt Marques, Sabastian Susinno and Parker Lane also drove in runs.

(15) Manasquan 5, (2) Governor Livingston 2

Manasquan scored three runs in the top of the fifth to take the lead and upset Governor Livingston. George Provel (RBI), Zach Geertsma and Matthew Shaffer (run) each had hits for the Highlanders in the loss and Matty Diskin had an RBI.

(8) Bordentown 4, (9) Delaware Valley 0

Elijah Tradigo threw a no-hitter with one walk and 12 strikeouts and Bordentown scored twice in the first and fifth innings to pull out the win over Delaware Valley (12-10).

Adam Groel went the distance allowing an unearned run, two hits and walk with seven strikeouts as Middlesex advanced.

The Blue Jays (14-8) will host Palmyra in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Aidan Kozak doubled twice and tripled with two RBI in the win and Justin Gordn had two hits (double) and scored twice. Alfonso Esposito doubled with two RBI and James Matula (RBI), Tomas Lavornia (RBI), Michael Canavesio (run), Dom Parenti and Chris Kozak each had a hit in the win.

Nick Bentz threw a gem with four shutout innings and allowed four hits and three walks with three strikeouts as Manville advanced.

The Mustangs (13-7) scored in the first and second innings and will play either No. 4 Somerset Tech or No. 13 New Egypt in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Elijah Capone went 2-for-3 with an RBI and sored and Joshua Barrios drove in Manville’s other run. Logan Klementovicz (run) and Bentz each had a hit.

Sebastian Aponte homered and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Perth Amboy erupted for eight runs in the top of the fourth inning to capture the Greater Middlesex Conference Invitational title with the win in the final.

The Panthers (4-17) also had big offensive games with two hits apiece from Edgar Deleon (run), Jariel Dominguez (2 runs), Jose Neris (2 runs) and Yendy Tomas (2 runs). Justin Foy doubled and drove in three runs.

Deleon earned the win by allowing no earned runs in four innings with five strikeouts and Foy finished with two shutout innings.

For EB Magnet (12-7), Scott Pede went 2-for-2 and Ryan Dellafave had an RBI.

Spotswood 8, St. Thomas Aquinas 5

Spotswood clinched the GMC Blue Division by rallying to defeat St. Thomas Aquinas.

The Chargers improved to 10-2 in the division and St. Thomas Aquinas is 8-4. J.F. Kennedy and South River are also both 8-4 in the Blue.

STA jumped to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning and Spotswood answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning and four more in the home second to take a 5-3 lead which they would not relinquish.

Jackson Walsh went four innings in relief of starter Casey Cumiskey striking out six and walking one and scattered three hits in the winning effort.

Breckyn DeAngelis finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Carter Cumiskey went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Shawn Lennan was 2-for-2 with a pair of two-out RBI.

For the Trojans, David Ryden went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Louie Rizzolo was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored.

Edison 10, Carteret 0

Sophomore right-hander Declan DiCarlo had a dominant start and Jaxon Appelman went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI as Edison claimed the GMC division crossover win.

The visiting Eagles (16-9) scored four times in the fourth to increase their lead to 6-0.

DiCarlo threw six shutout innings allowing just three hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Having two hits apiece for the Eagles were Jordan Martins (2 runs), Paul DiCarlo (RBI, run) and Paul di Pasquale (RBI, 2 runs). Matt Yascko Jr. (2 RBI), Charlie Taub (run), Ryan Berner and Dom Innocenti each had a hit. Additionally, Anthony Calantoni and Jackson Ferrer each scored.

For Carteret (16-7), Nick Kee went 2-for-2 and Jared Nelan singled.

Rutgers Prep 10, Timothy Christian 2

Peter Wheeler struck out 12 in six innings and allowed four hits as Rutgers Prep got the non-conference win.

The Argonauts (12-13) led 5-2 and sealed the win with five runs in the bottom of the fifth. James Jackman was 2-for-2 and Jason Roser went 2-for-3 in the win. Jake Riggi (RBI), Ethan Nepomuceno (2 runs), Peter Wheeler (RBI), Matt Bilmes (RBI), Ryan Parisi (RBI) and Brendan Coulthard (RBI) each had a hit.

Joshua Thiero singled and had two RBI for Timothy Christian (5-11) and Joshua Francis, Dylan Spivey and Ben Wang each had a hit.

East Brunswick 7, Colts Neck 6

Jack Nelson had three hits and the Bears scored on an error in the bottom of the eighth for the walk-off win.

Colts Neck (9-13) rallied with three runs in the top of the fifth and one in the sixth to tie it 6-6 and force extra innings.

Elijah Suarez allowed one earned run in the five-inning game with six strikeouts as the Chiefs got the non-conference win.

Piscataway (7-14) jumped to an 8-1 lead after the second inning. Bobby Bressler went 4-for-4 with an RBI and scored three times and Mahir Shah homered and was 2-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored.

Jason Hoffman (double, 3 RBI, 2 runs) and Riley Wingate (RBI, runs) each had two hits. Salomon Ealey (2 RBI), Dominick Summonte, Troy Hutchinson (2 RBI, run), Michael Wojcik (2 runs) and Terrance Bell Jr. (run) each had a hit.

For Rahway (7-13), Filiph Baez, Austin Tilton and Charles McCann each had a hit.

Bridgewater-Raritan 11, Marlboro 5

Joe Letko was 3-for-3 with an RBI and Jacob Rosado singled and drove in two runs as Bridgewater-Raritan earned the non-conference win.

Kellen Edwards went 2-for-3 with two RBI as Westfield scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to seize the lead.

Sayreville 3, Spotswood 2

James Kehoe had a strong outing and Aidan Crimmins went 2-for-3 with an RBI as Sayreville earned the GMC division crossover game.

Kehoe allowed one run in 4 1/3 innings on one hit for the Bombers (14-9) with four strikeouts. Aayush Mehta finished the final 2 2/3 innings in the win.

Michael Colonnello (RBI), Michael Novak (RBI), Jake Romanello (run) and Aayush Mehta each singled for Sayreville. Jaydon Stio (BB) and AJ Zapoticzny each scored.

For Spotswood (17-7), Carter Cumiskey singled and had an RBI and Jackson Walsh (run), Mason Bitalla and Sebby Saracino each had hits.

South River 11, Dunellen 5

Julius Rosado had another huge day at the plate by going 3-for-3 with two home runs and five RBI in South River’s win. The sophomore was also intentionally walked twice.

Parker Lane went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Joseph Lepore went 2-for-5 with two RBI. James Szorey also drove in two runs for South River. Brandan Lell got the win going six innings, giving up five hits and striking out five. The Rams (14-7) turned 5 double plays in the game.

Corbion Evans had two hits and an RBI for Dunellen (9-8).

St. Thomas Aquinas 6, Perth Amboy 2

Junior Zachary Diaz hurled a complete three-hitter while striking out four to earn the win on the mound.

Reed Kerstetter, Donovan Epps, Diaz and Lucas Cassino all added RBI for the Trojans (15-8). Cassino and Louis Rizzolo had two hits in the win.

The Trojans snapped a four-game losing streak with its win over Perth Amboy (3-17).

Ridge 15, South Plainfield 4

Connor Byrne homered and drove in four runs and Ezra Sadowsky had a solo home run to lead Ridge.

The visiting Red Devils (22-3) led 6-3 and broke it open with nine runs in the fifth inning.

Byrne and Sadowsky each had two hits. Also adding two hits were Nick Sellitti (2 RBI, 2 runs), Brendan Callanan (RBI, 2 runs, double), Julian Kielb (3 RBI, run, 2 doubles) and Matt Shawah (2 runs). Luke Somelofske and Nick Rossi each singled and drove in a run.

Callanan earned the win on the mound by allowing four runs in three innings.

For South Plainfield (13-13), Jay Alvarez doubled twice and scored and Ashton Donovan singled and drove in two runs. Dom Massaro also had two hits and Dan Kapsch (run), Zack Robinson (run) and Nick Irizarry each singled.

Anthony Buroughs pitched five shutout innings with seven strikeouts and Mike Schiermeyer went 2-for-4 with two RBI to lead the Warriors.

Myles Castillo tripled with two RBI for the Warriors (12-10) and Jacob Gordon doubled with a pair of RBI. Samuele Mattia (RBI), Peyton Bonds (2 runs), Ryan Piro (run) and Izaiah Robbinson (run) each got a hit.

Hillsborough 4, Bridgewater-Raritan 2

Senior right-hander Matt Antonelli went the distance, allowing two runs in seven innings with five strikeouts as Hillsborough earned a key Skyland Delaware Division game.

Matt Westcott went 2-for-2 with two RBI and Nate Kepniss was 2-for-3 and scored for the Raiders (10-14, 5-6). Cole Jara (run), Jack O’Donnell, Max Romanok (run), Graham Ross (double, RBI, run) and Avery Whitney (run) each had a hit in the win.

Bridgewater-Raritan fell to 8-2 in the division that tied them with Ridge for the Delaware lead. The teams split in the season.

Matthew Fattore went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Panthers and Kevin Lee had two hits. JR Rosado doubled and drove in a run.

South Brunswick 6, Hunterdon Central 3

Ryan Kessler hit a solo home run and Will Haman allowed two runs in five innings as South Brunswick earned the non-conference win.

The Vikings (10-13) led 3-2 and sealed the win with a run in the top of the sixth inning and two in the seventh.

Teddy Garcia went 3-for-3 and had two RBI and Brian Culhane was 2-for-4 and scored twice. Haman, Aaron Perna (RBI) and Joey Sanchez each had a hit. Nick Stenger scored twice and Daniel Kirk walked and scored.

Edison 4, Robbinsville 2

Paul di Pasquale went the distance as Edison gained the non-conference win.

He allowed two runs in seven innings with four strikeouts for the host Eagles (15-9) and Jordan Martins singled and had two RBI. Jaxon Appelman doubled, tripled with an RBI and scored twice.

Matt Yascko Jr. also singled and scored and Paul DiCarlo, Jackson Ferrer and Charlie Taub each had a hit.

St. Joseph 7, North Hunterdon 2

Matthew Friedman gave St. Joseph a strong outing and the bats stayed hot with a non-conference win heading into Saturday’s Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament final.

The Falcons (18-7) won their 11th straight against the quality Skyland Conference team.

Friedman allowed two runs in 4 2/3 innings for the win and Michael Dasilva pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings.

Mark Gialluisi went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Josiah Brown was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Matthe Kosuda (doubled) and Joseph Zammitti each had a hit and drove in a row. Additionally, Robbie Carvelli doubled and scored twice and Bobby Christensen walked and scored.

For North Hunterdon (15-5), Max Delia went 2-for-3 and Eddie Apollina, Alex Turner and Tyler Anderson each singled and drove in a run.

Ridge 4, Somerville 1

Aiden Stieglitz pitched Ridge to a quality Skyland crossover division win. He threw five shutout innings with six strikeouts and allowed just one hit with four walks in the win. Brendan Callanan (run) and Ezra Sadowsky each went 2-for-3 as the Red Devils improved to 21-3.

Nick Sellitti tripled and scored twice. Nick Rossi drove in a run and Luke Somelofske (RBI), Julian Kielb and Matt Shawah each had a hit.

For Somerville (12-9), Chase Koplitz was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Ty Akins and Karson Wengryn each singled.

Franklin 5, West Windsor-Plainsboro North 4

Franklin scored three times in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off non-conference win. Peyton Bonds went 4-for-4 and scored twice and Mike Schiermeyer and Eric Pydeski each singled with an RBI. Samuele Mattia (run), Warren Bell and Jacob Gordon each had a hit.

Voorhees 4, Whippany Park 1

Dylan Jordan went 2-for-3 with three RBI as Voorhees scored three times in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the non-conference win.

Charlie Worster allowed a run in the complete game scattering eight hits with five strikeouts for the Vikings (8-14).

Brandon Aulert drove in a run in the win and Jackson Trego (2 runs), Jeff Manning (double), Ray Schiavo (run), Jeremy Jordan and Bryen Flaherty each had a hit.

Bridgewater-Raritan 17, High Point 4

Matthew Fattore and Matt Moore each singled and drove in three runs as Bridgewater-Raritan got the non-conference win.

The visiting Panthers (18-5) jumped to a 6-0 lead after the first inning and made it 14-0 after two innings.

Devin Goldberg (2 runs), Jacob Rosado (double, RBI, 3 runs) and James Turchi (2 runs, double) each had two hits.

Kellen Komline doubled and scored, Michael Fattore had two RBI and Frankie Verano walked three times and scored three times.

Woodbridge 3, Metuchen 1

Sophomore Ryan Leach allowed one run in 6 1/3 innings with nine strikeouts and Shawn Kish got the last two outs as Woodbridge won its fifth-straight.

The Barrons (18-5) scored three times in the bottom of the sixth for the win. Kish had an RBI triple and scored and Drew Lukachyk doubled in two runs. Tim Deignan and Robert Bunten also had hits.

Lucas Weiss went the distance for Metuchen (8-12), allowing three runs in six innings with four strikeouts and Ike Busch drove in Daniel Cordes.

Spotswood 18, Rahway 1

Seniors Jackson Walsh and Chris Bottiglieri and freshman Ryan Orth each had two hits as Spotswood cruised to the non-conference win at the Swamp.

Up 8-0, the Chargers (17-6) sealed it with 10 runs in the fourth inning.

Orth drove in four runs on the afternoon. Sophomores Shawn Lennan and Stephen Henits joined senior Casey Cumiskey in crossing the plate three times apiece.

John Lubin went 1-for-1 with an RBI and two runs scored. Carter Cumiskey, Walsh and Lubin combined for the two-hitter with Walsh being credited with the win. He is now 5-0 on the season. The Indians scored their run in the top of the fifth on a bases-loaded walk to Walny Arache. Johnovan Rodriguez and Charles McCann had singles for Rahway.

Piscataway 14, St. Thomas Aquinas 4

Junior catcher Troy Hutchinson (3-for-3, double, 2 RBI) and senior starting pitcher Mahir Shah (2-for-3, double, 3 RBI) led the way for Piscataway in the five inning game.

On May 6 in the GMCT first round, the No. 20-seeded Chiefs upset No. 13 St. Thomas Aquinas 7-4. Wednesday, Piscataway (6-14) kept that production in a makeup Blue Division game.

Junior outfielder Troy Bell Jr. also went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base. On the mound, Shah threw three innings, scattering four hits and three walks, allowing three earned runs.

With the Trojans leading 4-1 in the bottom of the third, the Chiefs exploded for 12 runs for the big lead. Enter junior pitcher Jaden Peace, who has been the workhorse for the Chiefs this season. He shut the door allowing no hits and no walks in his two IP.

The Chiefs walked it off with one out in the fifth with a shot to deep center field by Bobby Bressler which drove in the 14th run and ended the game on the 10-run rule.

For the Trojans (14-9), Donovan Epps (2 RBI), Zachary Diaz (RBI), Louis Rizzolo (run) and Rickey Del Rio each had a hit.

Lawrence 6, South Brunswick 3

Ethan Fantel struck out 10 in five innings allowing one run as South Brunswick dropped the non-conference game.

Brian Culhane went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI for the Vikings (9-13) and Fantel went 2-for-4 and scored.

East Brunswick Magnet 10, Piscataway Magnet 7

Matt Murphy went 2-for-4 and Juel Holmes-Smith and Michael Zappola (double) each had hits and drove in a run as East Brunswick Magnet remained hot before its GMC Invitational against Perth Amboy on Friday.

Soctt Pede scored three times for the Tigers (12-6) and Aiden Rosenthal scored twice.

Jason Jonathan singled and drove in two runs for Piscataway Magnet (10-6).

Nick Kee went 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBI and James Rodriguez drove in four runs as Carteret claimed the non-conference win.

John Croasdale, Michael Kelly, Jack Reardon and Anthony Saniscalchi each homered for Delaware Valley in the win.

The Terriers (12-8) broke open the game with four runs in the top of the fifth and five runs in the sixth inning.

Nick Kee struck out 12 in going the distance and singled and drove in two runs as Carteret picked up the non-conference win.

The Ramblers (15-6) scored three times in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead. Kee allowed four unearned runs and four hits and three walks.

Rashad Bennett (run) also singled and had an RBI and Anthony Crespo also had an RBI. Justin Santana (run) and Justin Ortiz each singled and scored.

Walny Arache had three hits for Rahway (7-11) and Darious Perez doubled with an RBI.

Middletown North 7, J.F. Kennedy 6

Middletown North scored three times in the top of the sixth inning to pull out the non-conference win over J.F. Kennedy.

Kevin Portoreal went 2-for-4 and homered with two RBI for the host Mustangs (12-10) and Jeremy Ricourt went 3-for-5 with a double and triple in the loss. Gabriel Perez (RBI) and Grant Lorentzen (2 runs) each had two hits.

Ranney 11, Rutgers Prep 1

James Jackman and Cody Rullo each singled for Rutgers Prep’s two hits in the non-conference loss to power Ranney.

East Brunswick 8, Howell 7

Jack Gerould went 4-for-4 with three RBI and an RBI and John Oranchak homered in the sixth inning and finished 3-for-3 with an RBI as East Brunswick got the non-conference win in a rematch of last year’s Central Group 4 final.

The Bears (10-11) scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth off a wild pitch.

Gerould singled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.

Joey Ditzel earned the win with two innings of relief work.

South River 13, South Amboy 4

Julius Rosado earned the win by giving up four hits and striking out 11 in six innings.

Seniors Joseph Lepore (2-4, RBI), Andrew Steffaro (1-3), Matt Marques (3-5, 2 RBI), Jaiden Rodriguez (1-3) and Gavin Franco (1-4, RBI) all had hits on Senior Day.

Lepore scored his 100th and 101st run of his career in the win.

James Szorey added a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the first to put the Rams ahead 6-3. Parker Lane also had 3 hits for the Rams.

Diego Colon had 2 hits for South Amboy.

Manville 20, Roselle Catholic 3

Nick Bentz allowed one earned run in the five-inning game with seven strikeouts and had a big offensive day as Manville picked up the win.

The visiting Mustangs (11-7) broke it open with 10 runs in the fourth inning.

Bentz also homered and double twice to drive in six runs and Logan Klementovicz went 2-for-3 with four RBI and four runs scored with a double. Geoffrey Mathis also went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the win.

David Kuznetsov (hit), Doug Toth, Tyler Canica (double), Joshua Barrios, Elijah Capone and James Mascola (3 runs) each had an RBI.

Ridge 7, North Hunterdon 1

Connor Byrne allowed one unearned run in the full seven innings with eight strikeouts off of four hits and walk as Ridge earned an impressive Skyland division crossover win.

The Red Devils (20-3) scored five times in the bottom of the third inning to pull out the win.

Ezra Sadowsky (RBI) and Luke Somelofske (3 RBI) each homered in the victory and Julian Kielb had two hits (double, 3 RBI).

Joe Letko tripled and had two RBI and Matt Moore had two hits and drove in two runs to lead Bridgewater-Raritan (17-5).

Sebastian Aponte homered and went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Melvin Jiminiz singled and drove in three runs as Perth Amboy pulled the upset. The Panthers (3-16) will play East Brunswick Magnet in Friday’s final at host Edison High School.

Jose Neris had a 2-for-4 night with an RBI. Armando Lagomarsini also singled and scored twice and Jariel Dominguez and Justin Foy each singled. Yendy Thomas had an RBI.

Anthony Ortega earned the win by allowing four unearned runs in four innings off of three hits and Foy gave up a run in three innings with seven strikeouts.

Benjamin Smith doubled and had an RBI for South Amboy (12-5).

East Brunswick Magnet 12, Somerset Tech 2

Gabe Werts went the distance in the five-inning game, allowing two runs on five hits and two hit batters as the Tigers advanced to Friday’s title game against Perth Amboy at host Edison.

EB Magnet (11-6) scored five times in the top of the second and six runs in the third inning to open the lead.

Michael Rizzi and Scott Pede each had two hits with three RBI and Ryan Dellafave doubled and drove in three runs. Michael Zappola also had two hits and scored three times. Jack Clements (RBI, run) and Matt Murphy each had a hit and Justin Noon and Joe Squillante each scored twice.

Joey Tuttoilmondo had one of the most incredible games a pitcher could have in Monday’s win.

The senior right-hander threw a complete game, no-hitter, striking out 20 of 21 batters. Allentown's Alex Bischoff was the only player to put a ball in play when he grounded out to third in the top of the first inning. It was his third career no-hitter for the Vikings.

Tuttoilmondo walked three hitters as Allentown (13-8) scored in the sixth inning.

Ryan Kessler drove in both runs for South Brunswick (9-12) with a two-out single in the first and a sacrifice fly in the third.

Old Bridge 7, Sayreville 6

Justin Hascup didn’t allow an earned run in 5 2/3 innings in relief with 11 strikeouts and Old Bridge scored in the bottom of the sixth and the seventh to pull out the walk-off win.

John Smith had a monster game at the plate by going 4-for-5 with an RBI and Frank Papeo was 3-for-4.

Hascup doubled and drove in a run and Evan Smith singled and walked with an RBI. Kyle McSorley tripled (RBI, run) and Adam Scire singled. Justin Meyer walked three times and scored.

For Sayreville (13-8), Michael Colonnello, Jake Romanello (RBI, run) and AJ Zapoticzny (run) and Michael Robinson doubled and drove in a run.

Edison 11, Rutgers Prep 5

The Eagles jumped to an 8-0 lead after the first inning and got a quality win over the Somerset County Tournament champions.

Dom Innocenti allowed four unearned runs in 4 1/3 innings to earn the win for Edison (13-9) and Jackson Ferrer went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Innocenti also singled with an RBI and scored twice and Matt Yascko Jr. (RBI, runs), Jordan Martins (3 runs, BB, HBP) and Jaxon Appelman each added a hit. Paul DiCarlo walked three times and scored and Declan DiCarlo walked and had an RBI and scored.

Ethan Nepomuceno went 3-for-4 and scored three runs with an RBI for Rutgers Prep (11-12) and Joey Dwek, Jason Roser and Jake Riggi each had a hit and drove in a run.

J.F. Kennedy 7, Colonia 6

RJ Coleman doubled, tripled and had two RBI as J.F. Kennedy scored all seven runs over the first three innings.

Grant Lorentzen picked up the win by allowing three earned runs in three innings for the Mustangs (12-9) and Myles Ulaky allowed two unearned runs in four innings.

Justin Rodriguez (RBI, run) and Donovan Claiborne (2 runs) each had two hits in the win and Jeremy Ricourt singled and drove in two runs. Kevin Portoreal (run), Myles Ulaky, Brandon Mellage and Gabriel Perez each had a hit in the win.

For the Patriots (9-12), Casey Chiola (2 RBI, run), Matt Fasulo (2 runs) and Luke Celebrano each had two hits and Timmy Matten had two RBI.

South Plainfield 10, Spotswood 4

Spotswood senior Casey Cumiskey became the program’s career hit leader by doubling in the second inning against South Plainfield to break the school’s record of 135 career hits.

It was also his 50th hit of the season, which surpassed the program’s single-season hit mark that he set last season. The Seton Hall-commit has 15 multi-hit games with three or more hits in 10 of those games.

South Plainfield (12-12), though, claimed the win with a six-run fourth inning highlighted by Jay Alvarez’s grand slam. Kevin Penny went 3-for-3 with a double and Zack Robinson had a triple and two RBI on the day. Dom Massaro also doubled and scored three times in the win.

Spotswood fell to 16-6.

Woodbridge 7, Linden 6

Derek Anderson’s walk-off single gave the Barrons the non-conference win. Woodbridge (17-5) trailed 6-1, but rallied with two runs in the bottom of the fifth, one in the sixth and three in the seventh inning for the win.

Ty Kobylakiewicz was 2-for-3 with a double and triple and scored twice and Xavier Diaz was also 2-for-3, doubled and scored twice. Dean Fiore struck out seven in five innings and earned the win.

Michael Meola-Dreissig was 3-for-4 for Linden (2-15) and Julian Cruz double and drove in two runs.

East Brunswick 15, West Windsor-Plainsboro South 7

The Bears continued swinging hot bats with the big non-conference win and have now scored 27 runs in their last two wins.

East Brunswick (9-11) trailed 4-2, but put up six runs in the top of the fourth and didn’t trail again and had 21 hits.

Jack Gerould and Ryan Schultz (2 doubles) each went 3-for-5 with four RBI apiece. Derrick Christie (3 RBI, double), Jack Nelson (3 runs) and Jack Ryan (2 RBI, double) all went 3-for-5, as well.

Dustin McGuinness (RBI, 2 runs) and Joe Spinello (2 runs) had two hits apiece, while Jason Agrait and John Oranchak each singled to join the hit parade.

North Brunswick 10, Metuchen 2

North Brunswick stayed hot as they prepare to play in Saturday’s GMCT championship game against St. Joseph by winning their eighth game in a row.

Alejandro Jabar allowed two runs in six innings with six strikeouts for the Raiders (16-5) and Chris Rosario threw a scoreless frame.

Justin Batts (3 RBI, double, 2 runs), Zack Konstantinovsky (triple, RBI, 4 runs) and Rosario (2 RBI, run) each went 3-for-5. Kyle Anderson (RBI), Tim DeGaetano, Yomar Carreras (run) and Omar Carreras (RBI, 2 runs) each had a hit.

Daniel Cordes went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Metuchen (8-11).

Mike Schiermeyer allowed one unearned run with four strikeouts in four innings as Franklin got the non-conference win.

Billy Mansfield shined by throwing five shutouts innings allowing just two hits with nine strikeouts in the non-conference win.

The host Barrons (15-5) scored three runs apiece in the first, second and third innings for the big lead.

Ty Kobylakiewicz singled, walked twice, scored three times and had two RBI and AJ Bosch (RBI, 3 runs) and Tyler Weber (2 RBI, 2 runs, double, triple) each had two hits. Shawn Kish also singled with three RBI.

East Brunswick Magnet 21, Perth Amboy Magnet 1

Michael Rizzi had 13 strikeouts and allowed one run in the five-inning game, allowing just two hits and three walks. Jack Clements homered for the Tigers (10-6) and drove in five runs in the win, while Ryan Dellafave (3 RBI), Matt Murphy (3 RBI) and Rizzi (2 hits) each had three RBI. Lucas Weiss excelled on offense and on the mound as he threw a one-hitter to lead Metuchen.

The host Bulldogs (8-9) opened up a 12-0 lead after the first three innings. Weiss had two hits including a double and drove in three runs. The Malumug brothers, Marcus and Lucas, each had two RBI and Ike Busch chipped two RBI.

Tito Capeles got Rahway’s only hit in the fifth with a single to centerfield.

St. Joseph earned a win on the eve of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament semifinals. Joseph Barca stepped up and earned the win by allowing a run in three innings and Matthew Kosuda homered and went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Robbie Carvelli went 3-for-4 for the Falcons (14-7) and Josiah Brown had a hit, walked and drove in a run in the win.

For Bridgewater-Raritan (15-5), Frankie Verano homered and had two RBI. Devin Goldberg (RBI) and Matt Moore each had two hits.

Quarterfinals

Somerset Tech 7, Piscataway Magnet 3

Steven LaRosa went the distance with nine strikeouts and allowed two earned runs as Somerset Tech advanced. The Jaguars (9-5) will play the winner of Dunellen/East Brunswick Magnet in the semifinal on May 15.

Somerset Tech scored twice in the bottom of the first and then a run in each of the second to sixth innings. Piscataway Magnet (9-5) scored three times in the top of the fourth.

Robert Pasquale went 2-for-4 in the win, and Steven LaRosa singled and scored twice. Austin Schuster also had a hit and Liam Hanily drove in a run.

South Amboy 11, Timothy Christian 0

Steven Evanski delivered with a two-hit shutout in the five-inning game with eight strikeouts as the Governors advanced.

South Amboy (12-3) will play the winner of New Brunswick/Perth Amboy in the semifinal on Monday.

Three players had multi-hits in the win. Christian Smith was 2-for-3 with three RBI, Jeremy Vasquez was 2-for-2 with three RBI and Weslyn Sanchez finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and was hit by a pitch.

Evanski (run), Diego Colon (run), Benjamin Smith (RBI) and Benjamin Hernandez each singled. Gabriel Albarran also walked and scored.

For Timothy Christian (3-10), Joshua Francis and Joshua Thiero each had a hit.

East Brunswick Magnet 16, Dunellen 8

Scott Pede earned the win on the mound by allowing two earned runs with six strikeouts in the complete game and the Tigers belted 16 hits.

East Brunswick Magnet (9-6) jumped to a 6-0 lead after the first inning and led 9-7 entering the fifth inning. The Tigers sealed the win with three in the fifth and four runs in the sixth inning.

Tommy O'neil, Jack Clements, MJ Zappola, Mike Rizzi and Ryan DellaFave combined for 16 hits and 12 RBI to lead the offense.

Corbin Evans (RBI) and Myles Harrada (2 runs) each had two hits for Dunellen (8-6).

Regular Season

Middlesex 8, Union 6

Chris Kozak, Dom Parenti and Owen Reynolds each singled and drove in two runs as Middlesex won the non-conference game.

The Blue jays (11-6) opened a 7-2 lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Union (8-12) rallied with four runs in the sixth inning, but couldn’t get closer.

Marcus Lavornia went 2-for-2 and scored for Middlesex. Alfonso Esposito singled, walked, scored twice and had an RBI and Aidan Kozak singled, was hit by a pitch and crossed home twice.

Michael Canavesio earned the win on the mound with seven strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.

South Plainfield 3, Edison 1

South Plainfield just keeps winning.

Mike Sbailo went the distance allowing an unearned run with three strikeouts and scattered six hits and three walks.

The Tigers (11-10) are playing in Saturday’s Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament semifinals on Saturday and are 6-2 in May.

Ashton Donovan went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Zack Robinson was 2-for-3 (double, run). Jayden Alvarez (RBI), Brandon Bickunas and Kevin Penny each singled in the win.

Jordan Martins went 2-for-4 (run) for Edison (12-9) and Matt Yascko Jr. drove in a run. Mason Murphy (double), Dom Innocenti and Robert Roma each had a hit for the Eagles.

South River 13, Carteret 2

Julius Rosado struck out 11 and allowed five hits in the six inning game and added a two-RBI double. Andrew Steffaro led the Rams going 2-for-3 with a double and five RBI.

James Zsorey also doubled and drove in two as the Rams broke it open with a seven runs in the sixth inning.

Sabastian Susinno and Brandan Lell also had two hits apiece for the Rams.

Nick Kee was 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored for Carteret.

Woodbridge 4, J.F. Kennedy 2

Woodbridge staged a rally in the top of the seventh with four runs and Ryan Leach went the distance as the Barrons (14-5) pulled out the win over their township rival.

Leach allowed two runs in the first inning and settled down with seven strikeouts and gave up just three hits and four walks.

AJ Bosch had a two-RBI single in the seventh to tie it 2-2. Drew Lukachyk was later hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score another run and Shawn Kish had an RBI single to make it 4-2.

Tyler Weber also went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored and Dean Fiore doubled and scored. Ty Kobylakiewicz also doubled and walked twice.

Donovan Claiborne singled and drove in both runs for the Mustangs (10-9).

Watchung Hills 7, Sayreville 4

Nick Perillo allowed one earned run in 5 1/3 innings on two hits while striking out nine and walking two.

The Warriors (7-11) led 7-0 and Sayreville (12-7) rallied with four runs in the top of the sixth.

Nick Gasparino closed it out for the Warriors with 1 2/3 shutout innings on two hits and had two strikeouts. Martin Howell went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBI. Tino Lobozzo and Trenon Stanard each had two-RBI singles.

The defending GMCT champs will play fourth-seeded Monroe in Saturday’s semifinals at East Brunswick Magnet School.

The Raiders broke it open with eight runs in the bottom of the third inning and they added two more in the fourth.

Ashton Donovan and Dom Massaro each drove in three runs as South Plainfield’s bats erupted late to pull the upset.

The Tigers (10-10) will play second-seeded St. Joseph in Saturday’s semifinals at East Brunswick Magnet School.

South Plainfield and Old Bridge (14-7) split during the regular season. Wednesday, the Tigers scored a run in the third, fourth and fifth innings for the 3-0 lead. Then, they scored twice in the sixth and six more in the seventh.

In all, South Plainfield had 14 hits.

Jayden Alvarez (RBI), Dan Kapsch (2 runs) and Brandon Bickunas (2 runs) had two hits apiece. Aldo Pigna (RBI, run), Brian Potts (2 runs) and Nick Irizarry (run) each had a hit.

No. 2 Rutgers Prep 21, No. 6 Doane Academy 17

A day after winning the Somerset County Tournament with a 1-0 win in the final, Rutgers Prep prevailed in a high-scoring game.

The host Argonauts (10-9) led 19-7 after four innings and held off Doane Academy’s comeback.

Brendan Lell threw a five-inning complete game with five strikeouts and allowed four hits with no walks.

Joseph Lepore finished 3-for-3 with four runs scored and an RBI and a double. Julius Rosado hit his third home run in four games, a solo shot in the second. The sophomore star finished 2-for-2 with three runs scored, four RBI and a double with his home run.

Matt Marques and Andrew Steffaro also had two hits apiece for the Rams.

Ryan Desardo had a two-RBI single for Somerset Tech.

GMC Invitational

First Round

New Brunswick 7, North Plainfield 4

Wilmer Martinez went 2-for-4 with three RBI and Amaury Recio earned the win by allowing three earned runs in 4 1/3 innings as New Brunswick advanced.

The Zebras (1-16) will play Perth Amboy in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Houston Devin and Houston Devin each added a hit and an RBI in the win, while Ronaldy Peralta (2 runs), Peter De La Cruz (run) and Amaury Recio (run) each singled.

Davyn Ciriaco went 2-for-3 with an RBI for North Plainfield and Bryce Leonard singled walked three times and had an RBI.

Piscataway Magnet 5, Perth Amboy Magnet 2

Jacob Lyerly homered twice and Matt Baez had 13 strikeouts as Piscataway Magnet advanced.

The Raiders (9-4) will play Somerset Tech in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Baez went the distance, allowing one earned run and scattered two hits and five walks.

Lyerly went 2-for-2 with four RBI and also walked twice. Baez (run) and Jason Jonathan (double) each had a hit and Jurodh Santos walked twice and scored.

Dunellen 23, Wardlaw-Hartridge 0

Corbin Evans threw a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and one walk in the five-inning game as Dunellen advanced.

The Destroyers (8-5) will play East Brunswick Magnet in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Timothy Christian 10, Highland Park 0

Joshua Thiero doubled and drove in three wins as Timothy Christian advanced. The Tigers (3-9) will play South Amboy in Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Dylan Spivey (2 RBI, double) and Ben Wang (double, triple, 2 runs) each had three hits in the win.

Joshua Francis (3 runs, double) and Jude Chaplin (2 RBI, 3 runs) each went 2-for-3 and Jimmy Mclaughlin singled and drove in a run. Jonathan Walker walked twice and scored.

Thiero (3 IP, 6 K), Wang (1 IP) and Joseph Guardado (2 IP) combined on the one-hitter.

Aidan O'Connell singled for Highland Park (4-11).

Spotswood 11, East Brunswick 9

Freshman Sebby Saracino broke open a 9-9 game with a base hit to center, scoring John Lubin to put Spotswood ahead for good in the annual rivalry meeting between the teams 3 miles apart on Summerhill Road.

The Chargers’ Shawn Lennan would come around to score on an errand throw to third on a comebacker to complete the scoring on a wild afternoon.

It was the 18th edition of the Milltown Post 25 Commanders Cup, played annually since 2005. Spotswood has now won five of the last six in the series and reclaimed the Bill Thompson Memorial Trophy from East Brunswick, who won handily last season.

Spotswood (15-4) scored seven times in the bottom of the third to take a 9-2 lead. East Brunswick (7-11) rallied with six runs in the fourth to and tied it 9-9 with a run in the top of the sixth.

Ryan Orth earned the win by pitching two shutout innings with three strikeouts and also singled and had two RBI. Casey Cumiskey doubled and drove in three runs and Carter Cumiskey (2 runs) and Lubin (double, RBI, 2 runs) each laced two hits in the win.

Chris Bottiglieri (RBI) and Lennan (RBI, run) each had a hit.

Dustin McGuinness homered for East Brunswick with four RBI and Jack Nelson went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Derrick Christie doubled and scored twice and Joe Spinello doubled and had two RBI.

Bernards 8, South River 6

Henry Depew hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Charlie Gonella hit a two-run shot in the third as Bernards won the rescheduled Autism Awareness Challenge game.

Gonella finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a pair of RBI for Bernards (11-5) and got a one-out save. Terrence Hanratty was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI.

The Mountaineers got a pitching boost from Alex Fragassi. He entered the game and got out of a bases loaded jam with a double play and earned the win by allowing two runs in 3 2/3 innings

For South River (10-6), Parker Lane was 3-for-4 and Julius Rosado finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a solo home run in the sixth. Andrew Steffaro added two RBI for the Rams.

St. Thomas Aquinas 5, Elizabeth 2

Artis Ray hit a bases loaded clearing triple in the fourth inning that proved to be the difference for the Trojans’ non-conference win.

Gavin Sansone allowed one run in five innings with six strikeouts as St. Thomas Aquinas improved to 13-4.

Ricky Del Rio tossed the final two innings to pick up the save. David Ryden and Gavin Sansone each picked up drove in runs for STA.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood 8, South Plainfield 3

Ryan Cawley's two-out, two-strike single scored two runs for Scotch Plains-Fanwood and led to a seven-run second inning.

CJ Bates allowed three runs in 6 1/3 innings to earn the win for the host Raiders (9-10).

Anthony Malta went 2-for-3 with two RBI in the win. Having a hit apiece with an RBI were Luke Doyle, Sean Ferrone, Chris Kennedy and Jack Sponheimer. Matt Greisman (2 runs), Ryan Quinones and Dylan Fei also had hits in the win.

For South Plainfield (9-10), Dan Kapsch and Dom Massaro each went 2-for-4 and FranK Flannery (RBI) and Kevin Penny each had a hit.

Watchung Hills 3, Roxbury 2

Trenon Stanard threw a complete game six hitter, giving up two runs on six hits while striking out eight and walking none in the non-conference win for Watching Hills (6-11).

Jake Keirstead had a pinch-hit two-RBI single in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off win. Tino Lobozzo went 3-for-3 with a double and scored the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Jason Wu was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk in the win.

J.F. Kennedy 6, Perth Amboy 2

Grant Lorentzen allowed one earned run in six innings with four strikeouts and Braden Mellage went 2-for-3 with two RBI as the Mustangs earned the win.

Gabriel Perez singled with an RBI for J.F. Kennedy (10-8) and Donovan Claiborne and Justin Rodriguez each drove in a run.

RJ Coleman pitched a scoreless inning in the win.

Jose Neris went 2-for-4 for Perth Amboy and Julian Collado singled and had an RBI.

New Providence 7, Voorhees 5

Jake Monaco went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Andrew Kowantz singled and drove in two runs as New Providence scored three times in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the win.

Having hits for the Pioneers (7-10) were Luca Vitale (RBI), Sean Reilly (RBI) and James Miller (2 runs).

J.P. Stevens 4, Johnson 1

Justin Bonito didn’t allow an earned run in 6 1/3 innings and allowed two hits with 12 strikeouts in a dominant start for the Hawks (4-14). Casden Mui picked up the save with 2/3 scoreless innings.

Mihir Patel went 3-for-4 with two RBI and was a triple shy of the cycle. Bonito added two hits and two RBI, while John Papaianni also doubled.

Frank Papeo delivered another stellar start and Joshua Martinez had a big day at the plate as Old Bridge advanced.

The Knights (14-6) will play the winner of No. 7 South Plainfield and No. 10 Middlesex in Wednesday’s quarterfinals.

Papeo threw a three-hitter in the complete game shutout with seven strikeouts and allowed just one walk. He also went 1-for-1 with a walk and scored three times. Martinez went 2-for-3 with two RBI and scored.

Thomas Papeo tripled and had an RBI and Justin Meyer drove in a run. John Smith also singled in the win.

For Carteret (14-3), Drexler Rodriguez and Justin Santana each doubled and Rashad Bennett singled.

No. 3 St. Joseph 12, No. 19 Metuchen 2

Jimmy Mulvaney went the distance and Josiah Brown and Tyler Delvecchio each homered as St. Joseph’s bats came alive.

The Falcons (12-7) will face the winner of No. 6 Woodbridge and No. 11 Spotswood in Wednesday’s quarterfinals.

Mulvaney allowed two runs in the five inning game with seven strikeouts while scattering five hits and two walks. His offense back him after Metuchen took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second.

St. Joseph came back with four runs in the bottom of the second, a run in the third, six more in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Brown went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI and Delvecchio finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and scored twice. Mark Gialluisi (double, run) and Christian Azcona (RBI, run) each went 2-for-3.

Having a hit apiece were Robbie Carvelli (2 RBI, run), William Ramsay (run) and Joseph Zammitti (double, RBI, 2 runs). Matthew Kosuda walked and scored.

For Metuchen (7-9), Nicholas Calantoni and Marcus Malamug each singled and had an RBI. Daniel Cordes, Lucas Malamug and Lucas Weiss each also singled.

Harrison Lollin pitched like an ace in a dominant performance, allowing just three hits with 13 strikeouts as Monroe advanced.

The Falcons (9-6) will play 12th-seeded South Brunswick in the Wednesday’s quarterfinals. The Vikings upset fifth-seeded Sayreville 5-3 on Monday.

Lollin also went 2-for-4 at-bat and Trevor Wallace also had two hits and scored twice. Jake Lobue (run), Lucas White (run), Michael Ortiz, Aidan Lane and Nick Sellari each had a hit in the win.

For Piscataway (5-13), Terrance Bell Jr., Bobby Bressler and Riley Wingate each singled.

No. 12 South Brunswick 5, No. 5 Sayreville 3

While South Brunswick was an underdog on paper, the Vikings always has a chance to win when Joey Tuttoilmondo is pitching and their strong bat as Brian Culhane and Ryan Kessler each homered.

The Vikings (7-11) advance to play fourth-seeded Monroe in Wednesday’s quarterfinals. Monday, visiting South Brunswick jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and added two more runs in the sixth inning.

Tuttoilmondo allowed one run in 5 2/3 innings with 14 strikeouts and gave up five hits, three walks and hit a batter.

Anthony Servedio finished for the Vikings and allowed two runs in 1 1/3.

Culhane had two RBI and Kessler was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Teddy Garcia was 2-for-3 and Aaron Perna (double), Will Haman and Ethan Fantel (double) each added hits. Jack Leach also walked and scored.

Sayreville (12-6), the White Division champs, tried to rally with a run in the bottom of the sixth and two more in the seventh.

Aidan Crimmins doubled twice and drove in a run and Michael Novak and Michael Robinson each had two hits and scored. AJ Zapoticzny also singled with two RBI and Aayush Mehta had a single.

No. 7 South Plainfield 6, No. 10 Middlesex 4

Jayden Alvarez went 2-for-4 with four RBI and a triple as South Plainfield rallied for the win.

The host Tigers (9-9) trailed 4-1, but scored twice in the fifth inning and added three runs in the sixth inning.

South Plainfield will play No. 2 Old Bridge in Wednesday’s quarterfinals.

Aldo Pigna gave South Plainfield a gutsy start by allowing four runs in six innings with four strikeouts to earn the win. Zack Robinson pitched a perfect frame to end the game.

He also went 3-for-3 with a walk and double and scored twice. Dan Kapsch also had a 3-for-4 day (double) and scored twice. Ashton Donovan hit a sacrifice fly scoring Alvarez in the sixth inning for the Tigers' final run.

For Middlesex (10-6), Dom Parenti doubled and had two RBI and Jack Adamski (run) and Chris Kozak (RBI) each went 2-for-3. Adam Groel (RBI, run), Tomas Lavornia (run) and Alfonso Esposito (run) each had a hit.

No. 11 Spotswood 5, No. 6 Woodbridge 3

GMCT First Round

No. 16 South River 4, No. 17 Colonia 3

South River trailed 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth, but rallied for a dramatic walk-off win to advance to Monday’s second round.

The Rams (10-4) will play at top-seeded North Brunswick. First, they had to get past a tough Colonia (7-10) team, which scored in the first, fourth and fifth innings for the lead.

In the sixth, Joseph Lepore walked and Julius Rosado hit a 390-foot home run to deep left to make it 3-2.

In the seventh, the Rams were down to their last out when Lepore singled and went to second on a wild pitch.

Rosado’s single on an 1-2 pitch through the left side scored Lepore and tied the score at 3-3.

Rosado went to second on the throw to the plate. Parker Lane then singled up the middle and Rosado beat the throw home to win it.

Lepore finished 2-for-3, Rosado was 2-for-4 with three RBI and Lane was 2-for-3 with a triple and RBI.Gavin Franco got the win in relief of Rosado, going 2 1/3 innings and giving up only one hit.For Colonia, Casey Chiola was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Eduardo Tapia was 3-for-4 with an RBI.

No. 20 Piscataway 7, No. 13 St. Thomas Aquinas 4

Jaden Peace had a strong start and the Piscataway hitters came through as the Chiefs pulled the upset.

Piscataway (5-12) will play at fourth-seeded Monroe in Monday’s second round.

Peace, a junior right-hander, went the distance, scattering six hits and a walk, allowing four runs (one earned) with five strikeouts.

Piscataway erupted for five runs in the top of the second to take a 6-1 lead.

Junior center fielder Troy Bell Jr. went 4-for-5 with an RBI triple to deep center off the wall. Mikey Wojcik finished 3-for-4 and picked up an RBI and scored twice. In fact, Bell Jr. and Wojcik combined for seven of the Chiefs’ 11 hits.

Troy Hutchinson and Jason Hoffman Piscataway with two RBI each. Mahir Shah also had a hit with an RBI and Bobby Bressler singled and scored.

For St. Thomas Aquinas (12-4), Ricky Del Rio went 2-for-4 and scored and Jack Valenzuela (single) and Reed Kerstetter (run) each drove in a run. David Ryden singled and scored twice and Donovan Epps, Gavin Sansone and David Ryden (2 runs) each had a hit.

Lucas Weiss went the distance and Metuchen scored four times in the top of the seventh inning to pill out the dramatic upset.

The Bulldogs (7-8) will play third-seeded St. Joseph in Monday’s second round.

Daniel Cordes and Marcus Malamug each had two hits and drove in a run. Simon Rosal (double) and Lucas Weiss each a hit and an RBI. Lucas Malamug (single), Henry Busch and Nicholas Calantoni each scored.

Weiss allowed two runs in seven innings, allowing just five hits and no walks with six strikeouts.

For the Mustangs (7-8), RJ Coleman went 2-for-3 and Grant Lorentzen had an RBI. Jeremy Ricourt (run), Gabriel Perez (run) and Marcus Bullock each had a hit. Donovan Claiborne allowed a run in six innings with seven strikeouts.

Nick Kee allowed a run in 5 2/3 innings with five strikeouts and the Ramblers scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to advance.

North Brunswick 4, Edison 1

North Brunswick stayed hot entering the GMCT by defeating Edison in the division crossover game. The top-seeded Raiders (11-5) will host 16th-seeded South River in Monday’s second round.

Saturday, Yomar Carreras homered and drove in two runs and Zack Konstantinovsky also put one out and had two hits. Josh Rodriguez doubled and drove in a run and Frankie Garbolino doubled and scored. Omar Carreras also singled and Conner Levine scored.

Levine, a sophomore righty, earned the win by allowing a run in five innings off of three hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Justin Batts pitched two scoreless innings.

Jaxon Appelman homered for Edison (11-7) and Declan DiCarlo, Brody Ferrer and Matt Yascko Jr. had a hit apiece.

South Plainfield 15, Watchung Hills 2

Ashton Donovan and Zack Robinson each homered with two RBI and had two hits as South Plainfield got the big non-conference win.

The Tigers (8-9) led 7-2 and broke it open with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Dan Kapsch (3 runs) and Dom Massaro (2 runs) each had two hits and two RBI. Jayden Alvarez tripled and had two RBI, Kevin Perry singled (2 runs) and Brian Potts (2 RBI, run) also singled.

The Warriors (4-11) had RBI from Martin Howell (double) and Jake Keirstead, while Tino Lobozzo was 2-for-2 and scored.

Spotswood 8, King’s Christian 5

The Chargers appeared headed for a non-conference loss, but put up eight runs in the bottom of the sixth for the win and to gain momentum heading into the GMCT.

Casey Cumiskey homered and Carter Cumiskey was 2-for-2 with two walks and three RBI in the offensive outburst for Spotswood (13-4).

Shawn Lennan (2 RBI), Ryan Orth (RBI) and Chris Bottiglieri (RBI) all singled in the win.

Breckyn DeAngelis allowed one unearned run in three innings with five strikeouts for the win.

Woodbridge 5, Monroe 4

The Barrons won on a walk-off balk with the bases loaded in 10 innings in a crossover division game against a quality Monroe team.

Monroe (8-6) scored three runs in the top of the seventh before Woodbridge (13-4) manufactured the win.

Woodbridge’s Dean Fiore allowed a run in six innings off of four hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Billy Mansfield earned the win by throwing 3 2/3 scoreless innings.

Ty Kobylakiewicz went 1-for-2 with two RBI and three walks, while AJ Bosch was 2-for-4 R with a stolen base.

For Monroe, Aidan Lane was 2-for-4 and drove in three runs and Nick Sellari was 1-for-3 with a run, a stolen base and an RBI.

Dylan Hornick won for the Pioneers (9-6) by allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings with five strikeouts and allowed three hits and a walk. CJ Banos threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings.

Somerville scored five times in the top of the sixth inning and three more in the seventh to snag the division crossover game.

Matt Westcott and Avery Whitney each hit solo home runs for Hillsborough (6-10).

Braedan Trajkovski homered and went 2-for-4 with two RBI as Westfield advanced.

The Blue Devils (9-6) will play fifth-seeded A.L. Johnson in Wednesday’s quarterfinals.

Owen Callahan (RBI), Kellen Edwards, Jake Alfano (RBI, run, double), Kevin Dowling (RBI, run), Chris Shinnters, Nic Labin and Randy Davis each had a hit.

Tomas Cestero earned the win on the mound allowing three unearned runs with five strikeouts.

Nick Pellegrino went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Union Catholic (6-11) and Michael Pellegrino and Gregory Viloria each had RBI.

No. 2 Governor Livingston 11, No. 15 Roselle Catholic 0

Johnny Schmidt and Michael Liloia combined on the shutout as the Highlanders advanced. GL will host No. 7 Scotch Plains-Fanwood in Wednesday’s quarterfinals.

The Highlanders (12-0) scored four times in the bottom of the first and added seven an inning later for the big lead.

Schmidt allowed two hits in three innings and allowed a walk and struck out three and Liloia didn’t allow a hit in two innings with one walk and two K’s.

Schmidt and Habedank each had two for GL.

No. 7 Scotch Plains-Fanwood 13, No. 10 Dayton 10

Jack Sponheimer went 4-for-5 with three RBI as the Raiders advanced. Scotch Plains-Fanwood (8-10) will play at second-seeded Governor Livingston in Wednesday’s quarterfinals.

The Raiders broke open Saturday’s game with seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and six more an inning later.

Having two hits apiece were Sean Ferrone (RBI, run), Anthony Malta (run), Ryan Quinones (2 RBI, run), Matt Greisman (run), Evan Doyle (2 runs) and Joe LaRosa (RBI, run). Chris Kennedy also drove in a run and scored and Dylan Fei had two RBI and scored twice.

Greater Middlesex Conference

East Brunswick 4, Edison 2

Dustin McGuinness homered and tripled and went the distance on the mound as East Brunswick snagged the win.

The teams will play again in the GMC Tournament’s second round on Monday. East Brunswick (7-9) is the No. 8 seed and Edison (11-6) is No. 9.

Friday, McGuinness allowed just four hits and a walk with six strikeouts in the win. Patrick Ryan tripled and had an RBI and scored. Jason Agrait (2 RBI), Jack Ryan, John Oranchak, Jack Gerould and Jack Nelson (RBI) each added a hit.

For the Eagles, Jackson Ferrer allowed a run in four innings with seven strikeouts. Jackson Ferrer doubled and tripled and scored twice, while Anthony Calantoni and Charlie Taub each drove in a run.

Steven Evanski threw a five-hitter with nine strikeouts in the five-inning game as South Amboy earned the division crossover win.

Benjamin Smith singled and had three RBI for the Governors (10-3), which got 12 hits. Jeremy Vasquez led the way on a 3-for-3 day and scored three times.

Gabriel Albarran (2 RBI, 2 runs), Benjamin Hernandez and Daniel Evanski (2 RBI, run) each laced two hits. Additionally, Diego Colon singled and had two RBI and Weslyn Sanchez had a hit with an RBI and scored twice. Giro Castaldo drove in a run and scored. Joan Herrera went 2-for-2 for North Plainfield (1-14).

Christian Copeland (RBI, run) and Will Haman (RBI, 2 runs) each had two hits as the Vikings got the non-conference win.

South Brunswick (6-11) scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to break a 3-3 tie.

Marcus Outram and Sagar Thapar each had a hit and RBI, while Nick Stenger (run) and Aaron Perna each singled.

Jack Leach earned the win by pitching 1 1/3 innings of scorless relief. Thapar allowed one unearned in five innings with six strikeouts.

Skyland Conference

Franklin 6, Barringer 2

Sohan Patel nearly shutdown Barringer by allowing a run in the six-inning complete game with three strikeouts as Franklin got the non-conference win.

The host Warriors (7-8) trailed 2-1 but scored three times in the second inning and twice in the fifth inning.

Ryan Piro went 2-for-3 (two doubles) with three RBI to lead Franklin. Myles Castillo tripled and walked with an RBI and scored twice. Lawrence Ho doubled and had an RBI and scored and Samuele Mattia walked, drove in a run and scored. Aybue Aybue and Jamin Shah each scored.

Union County

Union Catholic 8, Brearley 4

Chris Wilson singled and had two RBI as Union Catholic scored eight times in the top of the third to get the Mountain Division win.

Ryan Bevensee, Aidan Quinn and Josiah Sharpe each had a hit, RBI and scored a run for the Vikings (6-10, 2-6).

Nick Pellegrino singled, walked and scored twice in the win and Nick Leon drove in a run in the win, while Matthew Weddle scored a run.

Prep B Tournament Quarterfinals

No. 2 Rutgers Prep 13, No. 7 Princeton Day 2

Joey Dwek allowed two runs in five innings with 10 strikeouts and Rutgers Prep jumped to a 9-0 lead after the first inning.

The Argonauts (8-8) advanced to the semifinals on May 10 against sixth-seeded Doane Academy, which upset third-seeded Newark Academy 3-0.

Dwek was also 2-for-3 with a two-run homer. Evan Laub finished 3-for-3 with two RBI and Andrew Parisi was 2-for-2 with two RBI.

No. 5 Gill St. Bernard’s 12, No. 4 Montclair Kimberley 8

Colin Chou slugged two home runs with four RBI as Gill St. Bernard’s pulled the upset.

GSB (4-10) will play top-seeded Pennington in the semifinals on May 9. Pennington beat No. 8 Morristown-Beard 5-0 Thursday.

John DiGregorio (2 RBI, 2 runs) and Zack Wendell (3 runs) each had three hits in the win, and Matthew Park (RBI, 2 runs), Graham Berry (2 RBI, run) and Joey Fava (RBI, run) each had a hit.

Regular Season

Delaware Valley 15, Manville 2

Delaware Valley erupted for 10 runs in the top of the fifth inning to break open the game and Danny Shaprio had a strong day at bat and on the mound.

The Terriers clinched the Mountain Division title with the victory and improved to 7-1 in the division. Manville is 5-3 and is tied with South Hunterdon (4-3) in the loss column for second. Delaware Valley has a two-game sweep over Manville and its only division loss was to South Hunterdon.

Shaprio allowed two runs in four innings with four strikeouts and the Terriers hot bats did the rest. He also went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Also having two hits apiece were Cooper Fransen (RBI, run) and John Croasdale (2 RBI, 2 runs). Anthony Saniscalchi doubled and drove in a run and Michael Kelly also doubled. Stoy Fohring and James Hintenach each scored twice and Kevin Hults scored and had an RBI. Thomas Tramo singled to join the hit parade.

Nick Bentz and James Mascola had hits for Manville.

Somerville 4, Franklin 2

Ryan Ciesla allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings with six strikeouts and Brayden Keller got the last out as Somerville earned the Raritan Division win.

Keller drove in two runs and Chase Koplitz went 3-for-3 and scored for the Pioneers (8-6, 7-2). Dylan Hornick was 2-for-3 and scored. Andrew Deangilis (RBI), Ed Duffy (run) and Robby Wright (run) each singled in the win.

Jacob Gordon doubled and had an RBI for Franklin (6-8, 3-6) and Mike Schiermeyer singled and drove in a run.

Pingry 5, Voorhees 0

Kailar Ahn’s RBI single broke a scoreless tie in the fourth and Matt Carreiri followed with a two-run home run as Pingry earned the Valley Division win.

Gavin Wang threw five shutout innings for the win in his first start of the year for the Big Blue (8-5, 6-0). He allowed two hits and a walk with six strikeouts. Nick Lorenzo threw two perfect innings and went 2-for-2.

For Voorhees (6-8, 4-4), Jeremy Jordan and Jeff Manning each had hits.

Ridge 2, Hillsborough 0

Connor Byrne singled and drove in two runs as Ridge earned the Delaware Division win.

Aiden Stieglitz earned the victory by throwing four shutout innings with five strikeouts and he allowed just three hits and two walks for the Red Devils (14-2, 8-2).

Ben Larner finished with three shutout frames, allowing just a hit with four strikeouts. Julian Kielb and Luke Somelofske (double) each had a hit and scored. Nick Sellitti, Ezra Sadowsky, Ben Carroll and Adam Meiner each had a hit.

For Hillsborough (6-9, 4-5), Graham Ross had a good start in the pitcher’s duel and allowed two runs in six innings. Cole Jara, Alex Reiling, Graham Ross and Matt Westcott each had a hit.

Hunterdon Central 4, Watchung Hills 3

Hunterdon Central scored three times in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead and pull out the Delaware Division win.

Nick Augusta allowed two unearned runs for the Red Devils (7-5, 5-4) with six strikeouts.

Jared Cassella went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the win and Mike Contiliano (RBI, run), Jimmie Lundari (RBI, run) and Logan Escamilla (run) each had a hit and Kyle Yasunas walked and scored.

Tino Lobozzo went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Warriors (4-9, 2-7) and Martin Howell was 2-for-3 and scored with a pair of doubles. Jason Wu (RBI, run) and Ethan Byrd each had a hit.

Bridgewater-Raritan 19, Immaculata 14

Matt Moore went 2-for-5 and drove in five runs as the Panthers got an early lead and held off an Immaculata comeback to earn the Delaware Division win.

Bridgewater-Raritan (13-3, 8-1) lead 14-3 heading into the bottom of the third. Immaculata (2-11, 1-9) scored six times in the third to cut the deficit to 14-9, but BR added four runs in the top of the fifth to increase its lead.

Matthew Fattore had a hit with three RBI and Gavin Onello went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Ethan Leon (3 runs, two walks) and Joe Letko (double, 3 runs) each drove in two runs.

Devin Goldberg and Jacob Rosado each had a hit with an RBI in the win.

Hackettstown 4, Bound Brook 1

Jake Anderson struck out 11 hitters and allowed four unearned runs in 5 2/3 innings for Bound Brook (5-7) in the non-conference game. Ronny Pimentel singled and scored for the Crusaders and Nick Anderson (double) and Damian Ogonowski each had a hit.

Bernards 4, Warren Hills 1

Henry Depew homered and allowed one run and struck out seven in five innings and Terrence Hanratty threw two scoreless innings in the Valley Division win.

The Mountaineers (10-4, 5-1)

Depew went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Matt Giunta was 2-for-3 and scored. Matt Falzarano and Ryan Tondo each singled and drove in a run. Tyler Helpinstill and Connor Laverty each had a hit.

North Hunterdon 5, Montgomery 0

Eddie Appollina threw five shutout innings and Michael Seifert tossed the final two innings as the Lions got the Raritan Division win.

North Hunterdon (10-2, 7-1) scored twice first and second innings for the early lead.

Chris Sand singled and drove in two runs and Tyler Anderson (run) and Wyatt Demeo (2 runs) each had two hits.

Appollina also singled and drove in a run and Jesse Lance doubled, while Nick Hernandez walked and scored twice. For Montgomery (7-6, 6-3), Tyler Conners went 2-for-3.

South Hunterdon 10, Belvidere 4

Colton Hettman struck out 11 in six innings allowing two runs (1 ER) and four hits and a walk as South Hunterdon earned the division crossover win. The host Eagles (5-6) jumped to a 5-0 lead after the first inning. Nate Lawton and Anthony Venettone each had two hits and an RBI and run apiece. Ryder Manfready also had a hit and RBI. Dillon Gallagher walked twice and scored three times and Aaron Parisi walked and was hit by a pitch and scored twice.

Greater Middlesex Conference

North Brunswick 6, South Brunswick 3

It was simple: if North Brunswick won, they’d clinch the Red Division.

Kyle Anderson went the distance allowing three runs (1 ER) and Frankie Garbolino singled and drove in two runs.

The Raiders (8-4 in division,10-5 overall) finish a game ahead of Old Bridge, Monroe and St. Joseph.

Zack Konstantinovsky singled, walked twice, scored twice and had an RBI. Anderson, Yomar Carreras (double, 2 runs) and Chris Rosario (run) each laced two hits in the win. Omar Carreras singled and scored and Sammy Berardo had an RBI.

For South Brunswick (5-11, 3-9), Ethan Fantel (double, run) and Brian Culhane (RBI) each went 2-for-3. Ryan Kessler (double) and Joey Sanchez (RBI) each had a hit and an RBI and Aaron Perna doubled, walked and scored.

Old Bridge 7, Monroe 2

Frank Papeo went 4-for-4 and had two RBI as Old Bridge erupted for six runs in the bottom of the fourth to gain the series split with Monroe.

Old Bridge, Monroe and St. Joseph all finish 7-5 in the Red Division behind North Brunswick’s 8-4 mark in an exciting pennant race.

Tuesday, Monroe edged Old Bridge 2-0. Thursday, the Knights seized the home win.

Justin Meyer allowed two runs in innings with four strikeouts, allowing just two hits and three walks. Evan Smith threw a perfect frame to finish the game.

Smith also went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs. Thomas Papeo and Mike Villani each had a hit, RBI and scored a run and John Smith and Joshua Martinez each singled and scored. Shaun Bogda also had a hit and Kyle McSorley drove in a run and scored.

For Monroe, Aidan Lane was 2-for-4 and Michael Ortiz and Trevor Wallace each had a hit and an RBI, while Kyle McCauley and Lucas White singled and scored.

St. Thomas Aquinas 4, Spotswood 3

Zachary Diaz singled in two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a comeback walk-off win for the Trojans in the Blue Division contest.

St. Thomas Aquinas (12-3, 8-2) trailed 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh, but pushed across three runs for the exciting win.

Artis Ray and Reed Kerstetter added RBI in the win. Junior Gavin Sansone tossed a scoreless seventh in relief of Ricky Del Rio to earn the win on the mound.

Spotswood’s Casey Cumiskey continued his terrific season by going 4-for-4 with an RBI for the Chargers (12-, 9-1).

Middlesex 6, Colonia 2

Michael Canavesio allowed two runs in six innings with four strikeouts and Justin Gordon went 2-for-3 (double, 2 RBI, 2 runs) as Middlesex earned the White Division win.

Tomas Lavornia doubled twice with an RBI and scored for the Blue Jays (10-5, 8-4) and Owen Reynolds was 1-for-2 with two RBI and scored. Canavesio, Aidan Kozak and Alfonso Esposito each had a hit and Dom Parenti scored.

Chris Kozak struck out three batters in his relief inning.

Eduardo Tapia (RBI) and Casey Chiola each had two hits for Colonia (7-9, 5-7), while Dylan Chiera and Jeff Trinca each added a hit.

J.F. Kennedy 10, South River 6

RJ Coleman and Jeremy Ricourt each had two RBI as J.F. Kennedy got the Blue Division win.

Each team finishes 8-4 in the division. South River won the first game of the series 4-3 on Tuesday.

Thursday, JFK had two big innings by putting up four runs in the bottom of the second and five runs in the fourth inning. Donovan Claiborne (runs) and Zach Tyler (2 RBI) each went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI.

Justin Rodriguez (RBI, run), Marcus Bullock (RBI, run) and Grant Lorentzen (2 runs) each had a hit for the Mustangs.

Myles Ulaky earned the win by allowing an earned run in five innings with five strikeouts.

For South River, Joseph Lepore (2 runs), Julius Rosado (RBI, 3 runs, 2 doubles) and Parker Lane (2 RBI, run) each had two hits.

Carteret 11, North Plainfield 0

Eric Thompson threw 4 1/3 no-hit innings and Jhoalvin Ledesma finished the five-inning no-hitter with two strikeouts as Carteret claimed the division crossover win.

The host Ramblers (13-2) scored seven times in the bottom of the third to take a 10-0 lead.

Both pitchers contributed offensively. Ledesma went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double and Thompson had a hit with an RBI and scored twice.

Rashad Bennett finished 2-for-2 with two RBI, two runs scored, a double and he walked.

Having a hit apiece were Justin Santana (2 RBI, 2 runs), James Rodriguez (RBI, double), Nick Kee (2 runs), Drexler Rodriguez (run) and Jossue Torres (RBI, run).

Woodbridge 13, Perth Amboy 3

Xavier Diaz went 3-for-4 and scored and Tyler Weber had a big day on the base paths as Woodbridge earned the White Division win,

The Barrons (12-4 overall) finished its division slate at 9-3 and second in the White behind Sayreville.

Weber singled, walked three times and scored four runs. Having a hit apiece were AJ Bosch (2 runs, double), Ty Kobylakiewicz (run), Drew Lukachyk (run), Shawn Kish (2 runs) and Tim Deignan (run). Jostiel Valdez (3 BB, RBI) and Dean Fiore (BB, RBI) also contributed.

Kish earned the win by allowing three runs in six innings with eight strikeouts.

Melvin Jiminiz went 4-for-4 with an RBI for Perth Amboy and Justin Foy doubled and drove in two runs. Jose Neris was 2-for-4 and scored and Victor Arias and Francisco Luna each singled.

Sayreville 4, J.P. Stevens 3

Aayush Mehta hit the game-winning single as Sayreville rallied with two runs in the top of the seventh for the win.

Mehta also pitched 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief for the win. The Bombers (12-4, 10-2) had already clinched the division title.

In the win, Michael Colonnello and Michael Novak each doubled and scored runs, Jaydon Stio had two hits and Jake Romanello had a hit and an RBI.

For the Hawks (3-13, 2-10), John Papaianni went 2-for-4 and Mihir Patel and Tanush Ashok each had an RBI.

Metuchen 13, Piscataway 3

Daniel Cordes went the distance, giving up three runs off five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts as Metuchen got the Blue Division win.

The Bulldogs (6-8, 5-7) had four batters with two hits apiece in Nicholas Calantoni (RBI, run), Marcus Malamug (2 RBI, double), Max Cohn (RBI, 2 runs) and Lucas Malamug (RBI, 2 runs). Ike Busch had a hit and scored three times and Simon Rosal added a hit, an RBI and scored twice.

For the Chiefs (4-12, 2-9), Bobby Bressler (RBI) and Troy Hutchinson each doubled. Elijah Suarez had an RBI and Terrance Bell Jr. (2 runs), Michael Wojcik (run) and Jaden Peace each added a hit.

Steven Evanski tripled and drove in two runs and Benjamin Hernandez and Diego Colon each had two hits and an RBI as South Amboy earned the Gold Division win.

The Governors (9-3, 6-3) scored six runs in the top of the first inning to open an early lead. Gabriel Albarran also singled and scored.

Dylan Spivey went 3-for-3 with an RBI for Timothy Christian and Joshua Thiero and Jude Chaplin (RBI) had two hits apiece.

Michael Dow homered for Dunellen in a nonconference loss. Myles Harrada and Danny Watts each had a hit and RBI for the Destroyers (7-5).

Governor Livingston 7, Westfield 3

George Provel hit a solo homer and had two hits and Michael Novotny earned the win by allowing a run in 3 2/3 innings with five strikeouts.

Zach Geertsma doubled and had three RBI for the Highlanders (11-4 overall, 6-3 in Watchung Division). Johnny Schmidt (RBI), Anthony DeNora and Matthew Shafer (run) each had a hit in the win. Dominic Labisi also had an RBI.

Greater Middlesex Conference

Old Bridge 6, Edison 0

Kyle McSorley homered and Justin Hascup gave Old Bridge a dominant start against a quality White Division win in the inter-divisional game.

Hascup threw 5 1/3 shutout innings and allowed six hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Villani finished with 1 2/3 scoreless frames giving up just a hit and a walk.

McSorley went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI and Villani was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. Hascup also singled and scored and Justin Meyer singled.

Old Bridge (12-6, 6-5 in Red Division) hosts Monroe (6-5) on Thursday in a key division game.

Jaxon Appelman went 3-for-4 for Edison (11-5) and Paul DiCarlo, Robert Roma and Charlie Taub each had a hit for the Eagles.

Colonia 2, J.P. Stevens 1

Vincent Tripaldi allowed a run in eight innings and Colonia scored the walk-off win in the White Division win.

The host Patriots (7-8, 5-6) scored in the third innings and J.P. Stevens (3-12, 2-9) responded in the fourth inning when Matthew Jason drove in Jackson Fong (3-for-4). Mihir Patel also went 3-for-4 for the Hawks and Tanush Ashok was 1-for-3.

But it was Tripaldi earning the win by allowing a run off of eight hits and no walks with two strikeouts. Eduardo Tapia went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a double and Casey Chiola was also 2-for-4 and scored. Timmy Matten singled, walked and had an RBI and Matt Fasulo added a hit.

J.P. Stevens’ Justin Bonito also had a strong start allowing a run in 6 2/3 innings with nine strikeouts.

St. Thomas Aquinas 11, Piscataway 4

Junior David Ryden was 3-4 with a double and a two-run home run for five RBI in the Blue Division contest.

The host Trojans (11-3, 7-2) opened a 5-0 lead after three innings.

Artis Ray chipped in two hits and an RBI while Junior Zach Diaz doubled twice for the Trojans. Junior Benji Pabon earned the win on the mound by tossing 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief with four strikeouts.

Ricky Del Rio finished 1-for-1 with three walks and scored four times. Zachary Diaz hit two doubles and scored and Gavin Sansone added two hits with an RBI and run scored.

For Piscataway (4-11, 2-8), Jaden Peace singled and drove in a run and Mahir Shah scored twice.

Middlesex 10, Perth Amboy 4

Dom Parenti went 2-for-4 with three RBI and Jake Benward hit a solo home run as Middlesex earned the White Division win.

The visiting Blue Jays (8-5, 6-4) led 7-1 after the second inning. Adam Groel did the rest by allowing three runs (2 ER) in six innings with four strikeouts.

St. Joseph (9-7, 7-5) scored three times in the top of the third to take a 4-1 lead. Dasilva earned the win by giving up a run in three innings with four strikeouts. Rios pitched four scoreless innings for the Falcons.

Ryan DelSordo homered and went 2-for-4 with two RBI to lead Somerset Tech to the division crossover win.

Tied 5-5 entering the seventh, Somerset Tech (7-3) scored three times at the top of the inning and Perth Amboy Magnet (2-10-1) rallied with two runs in the bottom half to make it exciting.

Anthony Torres went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI in the win and Joel Linares (double, RBI), Steven LaRosa (RBI), Nick Raspovich (run) and Roy Wambugu each had a hit.

First Round

Mossimo Pecchia didn’t allow hit in four innings and gave up just a walk with three strikeouts. The Terriers advance to play eighth-seeded Lenape Valley in Saturday’s second round.

Del Val (8-5) scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead.

South Hunterdon’s Dillon Gallagher allowed one run in six innings with 11 strikeouts in the wrong side of a pitching duel. Daniel Willis also went the distance for Warren Hills, throwing seven shutout innings with five strikeouts and allowed four hits and a walk. The Eagles fell to 4-6.

Bridgewater-Raritan 4, Hunterdon Central 3

Frankie Verano’s drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th to give the Panthers a key Delaware Division win.

Bridgewater-Raritan (12-3 overall, 7-1 in the division) has two games left in division play, while Ridge sits at 7-2 with a game left. The teams split in their two-game series.

Wednesday, Michael Fattore went 3-for-5 with three RBI in the win and James Turchi singled with two RBI. Joe Letki singled and scored and Devin Goldberg had a hit.

Cory Rible earned the win with five hitless and scoreless innings, allowing just two walks with three strikeouts.

Ryan Lundari hit a home run and had three RBI for Hunterdon Central (7-5, 5-4).

Tuesday, May 2

Greater Middlesex Conference

North Brunswick 10, South Brunswick 0

In a must-win game, North Brunswick jumped to an early lead and Zack Konstantinovsky hurled a gem and homered in the first game of a series. Omar and Yomar Carreras each also slugged a homer in the win.

The Raiders (7-4 in division, 9-5 overall) are contending for the Red Division pennant along with three other teams.

Tuesday, Monroe topped Old Bridge 2-0 to improve to 7-4 and OB fell to 6-5 in the division. St. Joseph defeated South Plainfield 8-1 on Tuesday to improve to 6-5.

North Brunswick meets South Brunswick (5-9 overall, 3-7 in division) again on Thursday.

The host Raiders did what they needed in game one. Konstantinovsky allowed just one hit with no walks and 11 strikeouts in the five-inning complete game.

North Brunswick three times in the first inning, two more in the second and five times in the third inning.

Konstantinovsky (3 RBI, double) and Yomar Carreras (2 RBI) each went 3-for-3 with the home run. Omar Carreras was 1-for-3 with three RBI. EJ Accettura doubled and had two RBI. Chris Rosario singled and scored and Frankie Garbolino walked and scored.

St. Joseph 8, South Plainfield 1

Matthew Friedman stopped South Plainfield’s hitters and the Falcons erupted for 13 hits highlighted by Mark Gialluisi’s home run in the key Red Division game.

The visiting Falcons improved to 6-5 in the division and 8-7 overall. Friedman allowed a run in six innings off of four hits and two walks and also singled and drove in two runs.

Gialluisi went 3-for-5 with two RBI, a home run and a pair of doubles. Josiah Brown finished 3-for-5 with a double and RBI and Joseph Zammitti went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Also having big days were Tyler Delvecchio (2-for-4, double, run), Matthew Kosuda (single, RBI, run) and Connor Drury (single, two runs scored).

Mason Cinca finished with a scoreless inning and a strikeout.

For South Plainfield (6-9, 5-7), Ashton Donovan, Dan Kapsch, Brandon Bickunas and Kevin Penny each singled.

Monroe 2, Old Bridge 0

Harrison Lollin delivered 6 2/3 shutout innings with 11 strikeouts and Trevor Wallace went 2-for-2 with a solo home run as the Monroe kept pace in the Red Division race.

The Falcons (7-4 overall and in the division) remained even with North Brunswick at 7-4. Old Bridge fell to 6-5 in the division. They’ll play again Thursday.

Lucas White finished the game with a strikeout.

Lollin also singled and drove in Nick Sellari (double, walk). Aidan Lane went 2-for-3 in a pitcher’s duel.

Old Bridge’s Frank Papeo nearly matched Lollin by going the distance and allowing two runs, six hits, three hits with seven strikeouts. Thomas Papeo went 2-for-3 for Old Bridge and John Smith had a hit.

South River 4, J.F. Kennedy 3

Andrew Steffaro slugged a walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth to cap a dramatic comeback for the Rams in the Blue Division game.

J.F. Kennedy led 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh. Mustangs starter RJ Coleman got the second out on his 110th pitch, but had to be pulled because of the NJSIAA innings limit.

Joseph Lepore worked a walk from reliever Dev Patel and Julius Rosado hit a 1-1 pitch over the left field fence to tie the game at 3-3. Rosado, on in relief of Gavin Franco, got the last three outs of the seventh and eighth for the Rams (8-3 overall and in the division).

Steffaro gave the Rams a 1-0 lead on a sac fly in the first inning. An RBI-single by JFK’s Grant Lorentzen in the fifth tied it 1-1.

Coleman and Zack Tyler hit solo home runs in the sixth as the Mustangs (8-7, 7-4) took a 3-1 lead.

Coleman went 6 2/3 innings giving up three hits and striking out 11.

Franco started for the Rams going six innings and allowing three runs (2 earned) on eight hits, a walk and two strikeouts.

Sayreville 6, J.P. Stevens 2

Sayreville finished tied for last in the White Division last season with a 3-13 record.

Tuesday, the Bombers clinched the division crown and improved to 9-2 in the division. Woodbridge is 8-3 and each team has a game left. However, Sayreville won the two-game series over Woodbridge and holds the tiebreaker.

Sayreville, though, needed to win one game against J.P. Stevens and they came through Tuesday. Michael Robinson drove in two runs and Jake Romanello went 3-for-3 (2 doubles, run). Michael Novak was 2-for-3 (double, BB) and scored.

Michael Colonnello (RBI, run), Aidan Crimmins (RBI, run), Jaydon Stio (run), Thomas Schlaline and Aayush Mehta each had a hit.

Schlaline earned the win by allowing two runs in 3 1/3 inning and Aayush Mehta threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings and allowed just a hit.

Aayush Mehta homered for J.P. Stevens (3-11, 2-8) and Jackson Fong went 2-for-4 (double, triple) and scored. Justin Bonito also singled and had an RBI.

Woodbridge 14, Perth Amboy 1

Eddy Nunez continued Woodbridge’s strong pitching by throwing a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the five-inning complete game.

The Barrons (11-4 overall, 8-3 in the White Division) broke it open with a huge 10-run third inning.

Dean Fiore went 1-for-1 with a triple, three RBI and three runs. Drew Lukachyk triple and had three RBI after homering in Monday’s win over Woodbridge. Sean Kish also tripled with an RBI. Tyler Weber went 2-for-2 with an RBI.

For Perth Amboy, Jose Neris went 1-for-2 with a double and scored.

Middlesex 5, Colonia 4

The Blue Jays scored in the top of the eighth to pull out the White Division win.

Aidan Kozak went 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI for Middlesex (8-5, 6-4) and Justin Gordon (2 runs, triple), Alfonso Esposito (double, RBI) and Dom Parenti each had two hits. Tomas Lavornia singled and drove in two runs and Jack Adamski also singled and drove in a run.

Esposito picked up the win with three shutout innings and Kozak allowed two unearned runs in six innings, allowing three hits with eight strikeouts.

Luke Celebrano and Dylan Chiera each went 2-for-3 for Colonia (6-8, 4-6). Jeff Trinca, Matt Fasulo and Timmy Matten each had RBI.

Carteret 11, Dunellen 1

Nick Kee didn’t allow an earned run in the five-inning game with seven strikeout and allowed just three hits and two walks.

The visiting Ramblers (12-2) jumped to a 5-0 lead after the first inning. He also went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs and Jhoalvin Ledesma also had a two-hit game with a double, two RBI and scored three times.

Drexler Rodriguez, Rashad Bennett, James Rodriguez each had a hit with an RBI and Eric Thompson singled and scored twice and Jared Nelan had an RBI.

For Dunellen (7-4), Corbin Evans, Jacob Manna and Luke Shealy each singled.

Metuchen 4, Piscataway 3

Marcus Malamug went the distance and allowed two earned runs, scattering nine hits with no walks and six strikeouts in the Blue Division win.

The Bulldogs (5-8, 4-7) scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the win. Dan Cordes went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs with a double in the third inning that tied the game 3-3.

Malamug doubled and scored and Nicholas Calantoni singled and scored.

Terrance Bell homered for Piscataway (4-10, 2-7) and Michael Wojick went 3-for-4 with an RBI.

East Brunswick Magnet 2, Pennsauken Tech 0

Scott Pede pitched a complete game, two-hit shutout striking out 11 batters as East Brunswick Magnet won a NJTAC Groups ½ quarterfinal game.

The host Tigers (7-5) scored in the second and third innings to top Pennsauken Tech (4-7). Ryan DellaFave was 2-for-3 with a run scored in the win and Matt Murphy went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI to lead the Tigers offense.

South Amboy 18, Perth Amboy Magnet 1

Nigel Johnson tripled twice and drove in four runs as South Amboy won the division crossover game.

The host Governors (8-3) put up 12 runs in the first inning for the big lead. Gabriel Albarran was 2-for-3 with an RBI and doubled with three RBI and Diego Colon went 2-for-2 and scored twice. Additionally, Joseph Foreman doubled with an RBI, Steven Evanski tripled (RBI) and Matthew Stempinski doubled with an RBI. Evanski earned the win on the mound.

Isaiah Nieves went 2-for-3 and scored for Perth Amboy Magnet (2-9-1).

Westfield 5, East Brunswick 4

Kevin Dowling allowed two earned runs in six innings with eight strikeouts as Westfield (8-5) won the non-conference win.

East Brunswick (6-9) scored four times in the top of the seventh, but couldn’t get closer. Kellen Edwards (RBI) and Nic Labin each went 2-for-3 in the win.

Skyland County

Somerville 5, Rutgers Prep 2

Ty Akins allowed two unearned runs in going the distance, scattering eight hits and a walk and three strikeouts as Somerville claimed the Raritan Division win.

Brayden Keller (2 RBI), Chase Koplitz (run), Owen Melchione (2 doubles, RBI, 2 runs) and Karson Wengryn (RBI) each had two hits for the Pioneers (7-5, 6-2). CJ Banos also singled and drove in a run.

Maddox Chu (RBI), Ethan Nepomuceno and James Jackman each went 2-for-4 for Rutgers Prep (7-8. 2-6). Andrew Parisi (RBI) and Evan Laub (run) added singles.

Hillsborough 8, Immaculata 1

Jake Battagliese went 3-for-4 with an RBI and scored as Hillsborough got the Delaware Division win.

The visiting Raiders (6-8, 4-4) scored five times in the fifth inning to pull out the win.

Cole Jara went 2-for-4 (2 RBI, doubles, run) and Graham Ross was 2-for-2 (RBI, 2 runs) for Hillsborough.

Delaware Valley 7, Bound Brook 4

Delaware Valley scored three times in the top of the seventh for the Mountain Division win.

Cooper Fransen (run) and Stoy Fohring each had two hits and two RBI for the Terriers (7-5, 6-1).

John Croasdale (RBI, run) and Michael Kelly (2 runs) each went 3-for-4 in the win. Jack Reardon (double, run), Anthony Saniscalchi (run) and James Hintenach each added a hit.

For Bound Brook (5-6, 3-4), Jonathan Bennett singled and drove in two runs and Jake Anderson (run), Lucas Coleman (run) and Jonathan Bennett each had two hits.

Manville 6, South Hunterdon 4

Josh D'Ambrosio went 2-for-3 and homered as Manville won the Mountain Division game.

Also having two hits apiece for the Mustangs (9-5, 5-2) were James Mascola (3 RBI, double, run), Josh D'Ambrosio (RBI, run) and Nick Bentz.

Union County

Westfield 5, East Brunswick 4

Kevin Dowling allowed two earned runs in six innings with eight strikeouts as Westfield (8-5) won the non-conference win.

East Brunswick (6-9) scored four times in the top of the seventh, but couldn’t get closer. Kellen Edwards (RBI) and Nic Labin each went 2-for-3 in the win.

New Providence 5, Madison 2

Ryan Grill allowed two unearned runs in six innings, allowing five hits and a walk with two strikeouts as New Providence won the non-conference game.

Luca Vitale went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Pioneers (5-9) and Nick Santacross singled and had two RBI. James Miller added a single and an RBI in the win.
