Will Matt Nagy be fired if Bears lose to Lions on Thanksgiving?

There’s been a lot of rumors and speculation about the future of Bears head coach Matt Nagy, whose hot seat is full-on burning right now after Chicago’s fifth straight loss — for the second consecutive season.

After an unconfirmed report that Nagy was informed that he’d be fired after Thursday’s game against the Lions, the dysfunction at Halas Hall has taken on a new life as the Bears neither confirmed nor denied the report leaving Nagy, coaches and players to answer for it.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that, at this point, Nagy isn’t going to be Chicago’s head coach after this season. It’s just a matter of when he ultimately gets the axe. After all, the Bears have never fired a head coach midseason.

But that could change if Chicago gifts Detroit their first win of the season. That would be the Bears’ sixth straight loss and the second consecutive season they’ve accomplished the feat.

The dysfunction in Chicago has made way for a Thanksgiving spotlight on the Bears given the uncertainty of Nagy’s future beyond this game. And a loss to winless Detroit would spell rock bottom for Chicago.

If the Bears lose to the winless Lions on Thursday, do you think Nagy will get the axe after the game?
