Marion County Schools cancel extracurriculars Thursday as severe weather crosses Ocala

Severe weather put a damper on the final day of the volleyball regular season as the Marion County school district shuts down all extracurricular activities for Thursday. There’s been no decision if cancellations will have any effect on Friday activities.

The decision scrubs Lake Weir, West Port, Dunnellon, and North Marion’s volleyball final game. Forest football will cancel its game against East Ridge. This also affects Belleview's swim meet along with Vanguard and North Marion golf. Trinity Catholic will go forward today and play their final regular season volleyball game against Gainesville at home.

Stay tuned to see if more cancellations roll in as the storm passes through Marion County.
