Marcus Mariota subject of new Netflix documentary series detailing 2022 NFL season

It’s hard to find many people in the world who would tell you that they really know a lot about Oregon Ducks legend Marcus Mariota. He’s a quiet guy, and has never been one to go out searching for attention.

That’s how it was when he was in Eugene, bringing Oregon their first ever Heisman Trophy, and that’s how it’s been during his NFL career in Tennessee, Las Vegas, and Atlanta.

So it came as a bit of a surprise to see that Mariota, the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, is the subject of a new Netflix documentary series titled ‘Quarterback,’ detailing the happenings of the 2022 NFL season through the eyes of Mariota, Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins, and eventual Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes, the QB of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The series is said to give unprecedented access into the lives of these players, who were mic’d up for every game, and it premieres this summer.

It was an interesting year for Mariota in particular, as he had a chance to get his NFL career back on the right track after serving as a backup for Derek Carr for several years with the Raiders. Mariota was named the starting QB for the Falcons before the year and played in 13 games, throwing for 15 TD and 9 INT.

Mariota was eventually benched for rookie QB Desmond Ridder, and he soon left the team once his wife gave birth to their first child.

It will be interesting to see the behind-the-scenes footage for this year in Mariota’s life, and you can guarantee that every Oregon fan will be tuned in.
