How many Chicago Sky players could be All-Stars? What to know about the potential vote-getters.

Chicago Sky fans can help propel players to the WNBA All-Star Game for two more days as the league hosts the final round of fan voting.

All-Star fan voting opened June 7 and will close June 21. Fans can vote for six frontcourt players and four guards, with the fan vote comprising 50% of the vote, with active players and a panel of media voters respectively providing 25% each of the remaining votes.

The 2023 WNBA All-Star Game will take place at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas on July 15.

The Chicago Sky are pushing four guards for All-Star selection this year: Kahleah Copper, Marina Mabrey, Courtney Williams and Dana Evans.

Despite opening the season with a 5-7 record, this group of Sky players has consistently remained in the top echelon of WNBA statistics including shooting, assists and bench scoring. Copper and Mabrey are in the top 30 in the first round of fan voting, with Copper 15th overall (12,861 votes) and Mabrey 26th overall (5,509 votes).

Here’s what to know about the Sky’s potential All-Stars.

Kahleah Copper

Copper is seeking a third consecutive All-Star selection after earning back-to-back All-Star honors in 2021 and 2022.

This season Copper /has shifted into the role of centerpiece star, which resulted in a jump in scoring to 16.4 points per game (up from 15.7 last year) while shooting a career-high 39% from 3-point range. She ranks in the top 20 of WNBA scoring

Copper has also been a tone-setter for the Sky’s perimeter defense, averaging 0.9 steals per game.

Marina Mabrey

Mabrey has been the central engine for the Sky offense, netting a career-high 17.5 points on 43.8% shooting. The spike — up nearly four points from 13.6 last season — is exactly what the guard aimed to achieve in her trade from Dallas, landing her 13th in the league in scoring.

Outside of her shooting, Mabrey has also grown into her role as lead point guard, averaging 3.5 assists per game.

This would be the first All-Star selection for Mabrey.

Courtney Williams

Plenty of Sky players have shifted their role on this new-look roster, but Williams has perhaps changed the most.

Her 7.1 points per game represent a steep drop in scoring from 11.1 points per game last season. But despite logging her lowest scoring since her rookie season, Williams is averaging the ninth-highest assists (5.5) in the league as a key facilitator for the Sky.

Williams earned an All-Star designation in 2021, when she averaged a career-high 16.5 points and 4 assists per game.

Dana Evans

Evans is the only bench player the Sky is pushing for an All-Star vote. Even in the secondary rotation, she’s one of the most impactful two-way players in the league.

The Gary, Ind., native is a hometown vote for fans, propelling the Sky this season with 10.3 points, 3.9 assists and 0.9 steals off the bench. Evans is the highest-scoring bench player in the league and averages the third-highest volume of assists. Her resume is already well-built to vie for the Sixth Player of the Year award this season, but a first-time All-Star selection would reflect the growth of her role on the Sky.
