Manchester United injury update: Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount and Aaron Wan-Bissaka latest news & return dates

Manchester United's injury situation has improved, but there is one story dominating the headlines.

While Casemiro, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez were all fit to start in the FA Cup win over Newport, providing Erik ten Hag with a significant boost as he looks to turn a stumbling season around, it was the absence of Marcus Rashford that took the headlines.

That is likely to remain to key talking point in the coming days ahead of United's Premier League clash with Wolves on Thursday night.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka could return for that match, but Mason Mount and Victor Lindelof are likely to need more time.

Here is your latest update of Manchester United injuries and return dates...

Marcus Rashford

Rashford missed the trip to Newport due to illness, according to the club.

The forward reported ill for training on Friday, hours after he was reportedly seen at a nightclub in Belfast.

Quizzed on the situation after United's FA Cup win, Ten Hag said: “It is an internal matter. As I said, we will deal with it. I will deal with it.”

Rashford is likely to be available for the trip to Wolves on Thursday night, but it remains to be seen whether Ten Hag opts to discipline the forward.

Mason Mount

A calf injury has kept Mason Mount on the sidelines since November.

The midfielder returned to light training on the grass at the end of December but is not yet deemed ready for a first-team return, having not been involved in a recent match at Carrington.

Upcoming matches against Wolves and West Ham could come too soon, but Mount will be eyeing a February comeback.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was not involved in the squad for the trip to Newport, after picking up an injury.

No confirmation of that issue has been provided by the club, but it is not believed to be a serious problem and the full-back could make a swift return.

Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial has recently undergone groin surgery and is expected to be be out for more than two months.

The club confirmed: "Anthony Martial has completed successful surgery to address a groin complaint and will be out of action for about 10 weeks as he rehabilitates. We wish Anthony a speedy recovery and look forward to his return.”

That leaves the Frenchman facing an April return, only a few weeks before the end of the season when he will be out of contract at Old Trafford.

Victor Lindelof underwent "successful surgery on a minor groin issue" just before Christmas.

It was reported that he would miss about a month but Ten Hag insisted earlier in January that the defender would not be rushed back, revealing he was still "some weeks" away.

Lindelof could soon return to first-team training, with a potential return to action later next month.
