The Orlando Magic lost another key player in Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Raptors, as forward Aaron Gordon exited due to hamstring tightness.

The Magic later announced that Gordon would not return for the game.

The injury in question occurred on a hard foul by Kyle Lowry, with Gordon falling awkwardly after being knocked off-balance on a dunk attempt. Gordon was clearly displeased with Lowry after the play.

The Magic are already without their other starting forward in Jonathan Isaac, who tore his ACL in brutal fashion on Sunday. Gordon — who is averaging 14.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while leading the team in minutes per game — would be another big loss if he has to miss additional time.

Magic coach Steve Clifford told reporters after the game he still didn’t know the severity of Gordon’s injury. He also declined comment on Lowry’s foul.

Shams Charania of The Athletic later reported that Gordon showed no serious hamstring damage, but would be re-evaluated after several days.

The 32-36 Magic have a playoff spot all but locked up and are currently vying with the shorthanded Brooklyn Nets for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
