Video Transcript

MATT GOTHARD: Welcome back to Mad Bets, everybody. We are talking winners and losers from week 12. I'm here with Jeff Stoneback, director of trading at MGM Resorts. Jeff, let's start with the good news. Who were the biggest winners for the public this week?

JEFF STONEBACK: The public didn't have many winners. Been a rough stretch here for the bettors. But they did cash in on the Bills beating the Chargers. They almost lost that game there. The first and goal there for the Chargers, with six seconds to go, two pops, they couldn't get it in the endzone. So that was a good win for them. Titans beating the Colts. Colts opened as 3 and 1/2 point favorite, got bet down to three. That was a winner for the public.

And another winner for the public was the Saints, even though they had to lay 16 and 1/2 points against the Broncos. But when you don't have a quarterback, hey, 16 and 1/2 points is easy. And that was easy for the bettors today.

MATT GOTHARD: Yeah, one completed pass, I think, for the Broncos in that game. So it seems like easy money on that team. All right, so, let's flip it. What were the best winners for the house, or maybe the losers for the public?

JEFF STONEBACK: Well, for the house, the Raiders game was big. I mean, we took a $200,000 bet on the Raiders, we took a $100,000 bet on the Raiders, and they just got walloped by the Falcons. But even without those two large bets, that would have been the biggest winner of the day for us in the book. Also, the Giants, they opened as 5 and 1/2 point favorites, got bet up to 6 and 1/2 against the Bengals. So when the Bengals covered, that was big for us.

And something that we usually don't say, another big game for the book was the Dolphins today. There was actually some money on the Jets. And then the Buccaneers sneaking in, getting in there, losing by 3. That game had gone to 3 and 1/2 against the Chiefs. So, when Brady had a little bit of a comeback there. So that was good for the books also.

So overall, the books did really well today. It's been a tough month of November for the bettors, but hey, we got next month.

MATT GOTHARD: Yeah, you live by the hook, you die by the hook. I know a lot of people that lost on the Chiefs' minus 3 and 1/2. Jeff, thanks so much. Hopefully everybody watching this, you were on the right side. And if not, there's always next week.
