Luol Deng's 30 powers Heat by Mavericks

Luol Deng finished with 30 points to lead the Miami Heat to a victory over the Dallas Mavericks, 105-96. The Heat had no trouble knocking down shots from the field in this one, going 42-76 (55.3%). This is the second win in as many games for Miami (5-2) after beating Minnesota on Saturday.

Deng finished 13-19 from the field (4-9 on 3-point attempts) in a strong performance. Other key performers for Miami were Chris Bosh with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Dwyane Wade with 20 points and 10 assists. Despite the loss, Monta Ellis scored 23 points for Dallas on 8-14 shooting (2-5 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 5-6 from the free throw line. Tyson Chandler added 16 points and 15 rebounds.

The Heat recorded a sizzling eFG% of 61.2% and, on the season, are 1-0 when exceeding 60% in that statistic. Conversely, Dallas is winless (0-2) when opponents scorch the nets at that clip.

Coming up, the Heat square off with the Indiana Pacers, who are 2-6 on the season. The Mavericks meet the Sacramento Kings, currently sitting at 5-2 this year.
