LSU women's basketball vs. Missouri: Live updates from Tigers' SEC opener

Kim Mulkey and No. 7 LSU women's basketball navigated a tumultuous nonconference portion of its season and head into Southeastern Conference play Thursday night with plenty of optimism.

Despite dropping their season opener in Las Vegas to now No. 5 Colorado before star Angel Reese was away from the team for four games, Sa'Myah Smith's season-ending injury, Kateri Poole's departure and point guard Hailey Van Lith missing multiple games due to a foot injury, the Tigers went 13-1 in the first two months.

LSU hosts Missouri inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center for the start of SEC play (8 p.m., Thursday, SEC Network).

Aneesah Morrow had a terrific nonconference slate for the Tigers, averaging 18 points and 9.5 rebounds per game and has recorded nine double-doubles, including the last eight games, to help bridge the gap while Reese sat out.

Reese has been dominate since her return, putting up 18.2 and 9.9 rebounds per game and has more like the Most Outstanding Player from LSU's NCAA championship run last season.

Missouri (9-4) has had some struggles early this season, losing to two teams LSU beat in Kent State and Virginia as well as St. Louis. Senior forward Hayley Frank has been a mainstay for the Tigers and she's off to a solid final campaign, hitting 38.6% of her 3-point shots, the most of any forward in the conference with at least 50 attempts.
