LSU baseball transfer portal tracker post 2023 national championship: Who's in? Who's out?

The transfer portal was a critical aspect to LSU baseball's national championship-winning team in 2023.

It's where the Tigers landed Paul Skenes, the eventual No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, College World Series final Game 3 starter Thatcher Hurd, superstar slugger Tommy White and left-handed relief ace Riley Cooper the year before.

Here's a look at where the Tigers stand in the transfer portal in 2023, as LSU and coach Jay Johnson look to defend its national championship crown.

Who's in?

Luke Holman, RHP: Holman posted a 3.67 ERA in 81 innings pitched this past season as a starter for Alabama before deciding to transfer to LSU. He immediately becomes a top of the rotation candidate for the Tigers after they lost Paul Skenes and Ty Floyd to MLB.

Mac Bingham, OF: Bingham reunites with Johnson after spending the first four years of his collegiate career at Arizona. 2023 was a career-year for Bingham, who hit 10 home runs and posted a 1.006 on-base plus slugging percentage.

Gage Jump, LHP: Jump transfers to LSU from UCLA after missing the entire 2023 season due to Tommy John surgery. He underwent surgery midway through his freshman campaign in 2022. When he did pitch for the Bruins, he had a 3.96 ERA in 16⅓ innings.

Kade Woods, RHP: Woods heads back home to Louisiana after spending his freshman campaign at Alabama. He posted a 5.52 ERA in 29⅓ innings pitched in 2023, starting one game.

Justin Loer, LHP: Loer transfers to LSU from Xavier. He dropped his ERA from 3.55 in his freshman campaign to 1.89 in 57 innings pitched in his sophomore year this past season. He was also a All-Big East Conference second team selection

Michael Braswell, SS: Braswell started at shortstop for South Carolina the last two seasons before transferring to LSU. He posted a .743 on-base plus slugging percentage as a freshman with the Gamecocks before taking a step back his sophomore year, hitting one home run and recording a .723 on-base plus slugging percentage.
