Louisville Bats hit five home runs in 16-1 rout of Columbus Clippers

Recap: The Bats hit five home runs and held the Clippers to six hits. Homering for Louisville were TJ Hopkins (2), Jose Barrero, Michael Siani and Stuart Fairchild. Hopkins had three hits and five RBIs, while Fairchild had four hits. Clippers starter Joey Cantillo (2-2) allowed eight runs on seven hits, including three homers, in 2⅔ innings. Louisville led 9-0 after three innings. Jhonkensy Noel, with two hits, was the only Clipper with more than one. Bats starter Connor Phillips (1-0) pitched seven shutout innings, striking out 11 and allowing three hits. Clippers catcher Zack Collins pitched the eighth inning, allowing four runs on six hits.
