Louisiana Christian University moves quickly to replace Drew Maddox with Hall of Famer

Louisiana Christian University Hall of Famer Ben McLaughlin is expected to be named football coach at LCU on Thursday, the Town Talk has learned.

McLaughlin will replace Drew Maddox, who recently accepted a position as defensive line coach at Southeast Missouri State in the Big-South-Ohio Valley Conference. Maddox was 22-16 in four seasons with the Wildcats.

Currently a coordinator at Alexandria Senior High, McLaughlin finished his LCU career under Dennis Dunn as the school’s most prolific passer with 12,055 career yards, the most in American Southwest Conference history. He also recorded the league’s most touchdown passes with 111 in his career.
