Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 7 game

The premier matchup in the AFC West will take place Sunday when the Los Angeles Chargers (2-3) visit the Kansas City Chiefs (5-1).

The Chargers had a golden opportunity to get a signature win against the Dallas Cowboys, but they once again fell short in a three-point loss. All three losses for Los Angeles this season have been by a combined eight points, so the talented squad is looking for things to turn in their favor.

It wasn't pretty, but Kansas City was able to move to 3-0 when Taylor Swift is in attendance after beating the Denver Broncos on "Thursday Night Football." The offense is still a work in progress, but when Patrick Mahomes is under center, there's always a chance for a big day for the defending Super Bowl champions.

Lorenzo Reyes: Chiefs 30, Chargers 20

Los Angeles tends to keep games close, but the Chiefs are benefitting from a mini-bye after their Thursday game, while the Chargers are on a shorter week after the Monday night loss. Justin Herbert has been slow to adapt to Kellen Moore’s offense and L.A. is just generally poor in the clutch.

Tyler Dragon: Chiefs 28, Chargers 21

The Chargers have lost six games by three points or fewer since the start of last season, the second most in the NFL over that span. The Chiefs have won three in a row against the Chargers. Kansas City knows how to close games and Los Angeles doesn’t. The defending Super Bowl champions are well on their way to winning the AFC West for an eighth straight season.

Safid Deen: Chiefs 27, Chargers 24

Well, it looked like Travis Kelce enjoyed his mini-bye with Taylor Swift in New York and his brother Jason at the Phillies game. But it’s back to business for the Chiefs, and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who will continue finding his mojo offensively against Justin Herbert and the struggling Chargers.

Victoria Hernandez: Chiefs 27, Chargers 20

The Chargers have a slightly shorter week after a tough Monday night loss and they won’t be able to recover enough to overpower the mighty Chiefs at Arrowhead, who had a few extra days of rest. Kansas City has won three straight games in the matchup and tacks on another here.

Jordan Mendoza: Chiefs 30, Chargers 28

This matchup always has a flair for the dramatic and I don't expect anything different this time around. Los Angeles could be undefeated with how close their losses have been, and it'll be close in Kansas City, but the Chiefs offense prevails. One thing to note is in the past five meetings between the two, the winner scored at least 27 points, so this could be a good candidate to hit the over.
