Jo Adell, just like Jose Canseco's blunder, has home run ball bounce off him and over wall

Texas Rangers outfielder Nick Solak’s shot in the fifth inning on Sunday afternoon wasn’t quite enough to clear the outfield wall for a home run.

Thanks to a bit of help — help reminiscent of Jose Canseco’s blunder nearly three decades ago — Solak’s shot got the boost it needed to clear the right field wall.

Solak drove a deep fly ball into right field in their 7-3 win against the Los Angeles Angels at Globe Life Field, though Angels outfielder Jo Adell seemed to have it tracked and was moving into position to make the play.

As he went to catch the ball, Adell got turned around. The ball bounced straight into his glove and right out over the wall, resulting in a home run. His reaction, naturally, said it all.

Technically, the play was ruled a four-base error. The result, though, is still the same.

It looked similar to the error Jose Canseco made in 1993, too, though less embarrassing as Carlos Martinez’s shot bounced off Canseco's head and over the wall instead of his glove, marking one of the most memorable blunders in baseball history.

Regardless, it’s safe to assume Adell will be more careful the next time out.
