LOOK: Raiders QB Derek Carr’s passing chart in Week 14 vs. Chiefs

Over the last few years, Derek Carr has played really well against the Chiefs. In his two games against Kansas City last season, Carr completed 73 percent of his passes and threw for 622 yards and six touchdowns. He averaged an absurd 10 yards per attempt and a passer rating of 123.2.

However, he was not able to replicate that success this year. In the two games in which the Raiders played the Chiefs, they managed to score just 23 total points. Carr averaged just 6.6 yards per attempt and a passer rating of 91.9.

Carr did not play well in Week 14 as he simply couldn’t throw the ball down the field. He did not complete a single pass beyond 16 air yards on Sunday. Take a look at his passing chart from Week 14 via the NFL’s Next Gen Stats:

Since the team released Henry Ruggs, his passer rating has dropped from 101.2 to 89.3. He’s not being as aggressive as he was earlier in the season and he is turning the ball over at a very high rate.

It’s not too late for Derek Carr and the Raiders to turn things around this season, but they do need to start playing better on offense. Carr needs to find a way to get the offensive moving and they need to stop turning the ball over.

If they can do those things, they’ll have a chance to go on a bit of a run in December. Otherwise, this season will end like the last two for the Raiders.
