1. Edmond North (11-2)

Edmond North's Bryce Potts (32) goes for a layup in last year's Class 6A championship game against Broken Arrow at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.

The two-time defending Class 6A champions have largely solidified themselves as the best team in the state — and for good reason. The Huskies returned most of their 2023 championship squad and added former Moore guard Chiante' Tramble to the mix alongside Wyoming commit Dylan Warlick. Edmond North is undefeated against Oklahoma high school competition after matching up against the top competition at the Tournament of Champions in Missouri. The Huskies' game doesn’t have to revolve around one or two guys, however. Bryce Potts, Dontrell Yearby and Tatum Ridge are also key contributors.

2. Dale (18-2)

Despite the Pirates being a part of Class 2A, there isn't anything slight about their play. Dale has shown multiple times this year it can compete with the state's top physicality and talent. The reigning two-time state champions have won 14 of their last 15 games and sit atop the Class 2A rankings. Headlined by OU signee Dayton Forsythe and his brother, Denton, the Pirates have outscored opponents by over 35 points on average in its 18 wins.

3. Douglass (10-3)

Steven Alexander's Trojans have picked up right where they left off a year after winning the Class 4A state championship. Their backcourt duo of Landry Ballard and Davon Scott alongside forward Jaden Williams has Douglass rolling and favored to win a second consecutive title. Riding a nine-game winning streak into the second half of the season, the Trojans have returned to the powerhouse status they attained while winning seven state titles during the 2010s.

Up next: Saturday at Star Spencer

4. Midwest City (13-3)

The Bombers have had a stellar start to their season under first-year head coach Torey Noel. In one of the more underrated basketball storylines in the metro area, Midwest City's turnaround from a season ago has seen them already double last year's win total from six to 13 victories. Oklahoma State commit Carlsheon Young has been a massive part of the Bombers' success, as the junior is currently averaging 24 points per game alongside shifty guard Roy Henderson.

Up next: Tuesday vs. John Marshall

5. Choctaw (12-3)

The Yellowjackets have been on a tear over the last month. Despite battling injuries, Choctaw has won six of its last eight games after finishing second place at the Bishop McGuinness Classic. Seniors Ja'Mon Valentine and Camden Hyman have led the backcourt, averaging 35 points combined for the Yellowjackets while matching up strongly against the best teams in Class 6A. Choctaw's defense separates it from most, as Millet Steelman, Isaiah Taylor, and Jordan Valentine's size creates disadvantages for opposing offenses.

Up next: Friday at Stillwater

6. Crossings Christian (12-3)

The Knights have held their own in one of the toughest districts. Crossings Christian has won seven of its last eight games behind the stellar play of junior guard Cal Furnish. He recently eclipsed the 1,000 career points mark, becoming just the sixth player in program history to reach that milestone. The well-rounded Knights have also received immense assistance from Cam Parker, Phoenix Woodson, and Mark Gudell.

7. Oklahoma Christian School (15-1)

While most teams in smaller classes lack infrequent size and skill at the big man position, OCS appears to be the exception. 6-foot-7 Saints forward Luke Gray has put together a dominant display of games. The senior is currently averaging 22 points and 16 rebounds and has OCS as the favorite to win Class 3A. Kansas Wesleyan commit Carson Jones and guard Kyler Brown also have the Saints riding high on a ten-game win streak.

8. Mustang (12-5)

The Broncos' electric duo of Freshman Tyson Pogi and Roman Miller has Mustang rolling heading into February. Miller, a junior, is leading the Broncos in scoring while averaging 21 points, seven rebounds and 2.5 steals per game through 16 games. Top to bottom, the Broncos roster is filled with studs whose impact is felt on the defensive end as well as offense. With twins Jaden and Jaytee Johnson, Michael Vincent and Jeriah Fleeton running alongside their backcourt duo, don't be surprised if Mustang begins to make noise come March.

Up next: Friday at Putnam City North

9. Norman (12-4)

Cory Cole's Tigers have embraced the challenges of the rigid Class 6A schedule after struggling early. Behind 6-foot-7 forward Trashaun Combs-Pierce, Norman has won seven consecutive games despite battling injuries throughout the roster. The Tigers present a ton of size out on the wing, which has been instrumental to their start, with Montrel Combs-Pierce, Isaiah Amous and BJ Randle.

Up next: Friday at Yukon

10. Deer Creek (14-3)

After winning the Bruce Gray Invitational, the Antlers are taking strides in the right direction. The tournament win marked Deer Creek's seventh consecutive win to improve to 14-3. The Antlers currently sit second in the District 6A-1 standings behind reigning two-time Class 6A champion Edmond North. Led by Clyde Davis Jr., Hudson Lisenmeyer and Mason Smith, expect the Antlers to be a tough out in the state playoffs.

Outside looking in

Carl Albert (13-4): The Titans have been on a tear, winning ten of its last 11 games by an average margin of 27 points. Their duo of brothers Quincy and Jayden Hopkins have led Carl Albert's winning ways despite losing Northern Illinois commit Jayden Mott after the Mustang Holiday Classic.

Millwood (11-6): Despite the loss of star forward Jaden Nickens, the second-ranked Falcons have managed to stay afloat due to the play of their electric trio of guards. Xon Williams, Chance Davis and Isaiah Wilks have the defending Class 3A champion Millwood riding high at 11-6.

North Rock Creek (15-1): The Cougars would be ranked in in the top 10 if not for their slight strength of schedule in comparison to others in higher classes. However, don't sleep on North Rock Creek as it's been streaking for good reason.

Piedmont (13-4): Since the addition of former Mount St. Mary point guard Braeden Lloyd, the Wildcats have been on a roll early on. They sit at 13-4 while playing in a rigid District 6A-1 that includes Edmond North, Deer Creek and Mustang.
