A look at the 13 Petoskey area girls soccer players to know in 2024
You’re not going to find many seasons around this corner of Northern Michigan where someone isn’t making some spring noise on the girls soccer field.
While there’s only four programs on a regular basis, one of them is usually keeping things alive in the postseason.
From Petoskey and Boyne City, to Harbor Springs and Charlevoix, there’s reason to believe the same could happen again in 2024.
The 2023 class of seniors took with them a number of goals and success, but the crop of talent back brings its own group of scorers, shot stoppers and players ready to become household names in the sport.
Below is a list (in no order) of who to look forward to entering 2024 girls soccer season.
Lauren Cole, Petoskey
An All-Big North player a season ago as a defensive midfielder, Cole has also shown the ability to knock in some goals, with a couple in league play.
Mackensey Wilson, Boyne City
Led the Ramblers in goals with 12 in an All-LMC season, then also added five assists. Should be even more dangerous in her final season.
Lily Barnadyn, Harbor Springs
Harbor Springs has perhaps the most to replace in the area, but Barnadyn is a strong player back to the lineup that earned all-district recognition a season ago.
Annika Gandhi, Petoskey
Gandhi became a dangerous scoring threat in her first season with Petoskey as a sophomore, closing with six goals and seven assists.
Karlee Eaton, Charlevoix
Productive player on the offensive end after returning from injury a season ago. Finished with eight goals and nine assists and should improve upon those in 2024.
Braydin Noble, Boyne City
Followed in her sister’s footsteps as an all-state player as a sophomore. Scored 11 goals and added 11 assists.
Lena Sytsma-Reed, Charlevoix
An all-district defender for the Rayders last season as a sophomore, Sytsma-Reed was strong in one on one situations and 50-50 balls a year ago.
Sadie Corey, Petoskey
Entering her third year as a starter in goal as a junior. Helped Petoskey to five shutouts and 10 games with a goal or less for opponents on the scoreboard.
Kaylie Corcoran, Harbor Springs
There wasn’t much opportunity to break into the scoring column with so much senior leadership ahead of her, but that changes for Corcoran in 2024 after an all-district finish.
Gabby Dunlap, Boyne City
A talented player up top that earned honorable mention All-Lake Michigan honors a year ago. An even bigger season should be ahead in her final campaign.
Addison Boop, Charlevoix
A talented keeper back to protect the net is a huge asset for the Rayders and they have that in Boop, who finished with 132 saves in her junior season.
Clara Mailloux, Petoskey
Someone around the lineup will need to be a threat along with Gandhi after Kate Farley’s departure, now a junior, that could be the talented Mailloux up top.
Ava Boss, Charlevoix
One of the top defensive players back around the area, Boss is not only a smart player, but she’s one of the fastest n the field, perfect for her defensive sweeper spot.
