LOCAL ROUNDUP: Storm goes to 2-0 at Heritage

Dec. 27—BROADLANDS — The Heritage side of the BSN Classic included a battle between Salt Fork and Georgetown-Ridge Farm.

The Storm was able to beat the Buffaloes 52-24 on Wednesday. Kamdyn Keller led Salt Fork with 13 points, while Evan Webb had 11 points, Jameson Remole had 10, Braxton Clem had seven and Ty Smoot added six.

JJ Hall had 10 points for the Buffaloes, while Deven Vice had six and Jase Latoz and Sawyer Willis each had four points.

Salt Fork ended the day with a 43-35 win over Heritage. Remole had 15 points, while Webb had eight, Maddux Stine had six, Smoot had five and Grant Wilson added four.

Georgetown-Ridge Farm was coming off a 70-40 loss to Mount Pulaski earlier in the day.

Latoz had 12 points, while Hall had seven and A'John Watson added six.

Armstrong-Potomac was 1-1 on the first day. The Trojans started the day with a 51-15 win over Heritage as Kollin Asbury had 15 points, Bowen Hesterburg and Luke Townsend each had eight points and Ryan Edwards added five points.

The Trojans then lost a close 64-58 game to Mount Pulaski as Asbury had 18, Hesterburg had 15, James Huisinga had eight, Cole Bailey had seven and Nathan Rogers added six points.

Armstrong-Potomac will face Salt Fork at 10 a.m. today and Georgetown-Ridge Farm at 1 p.m.

Salt Fork will also play Mount Pulaski at 5:30 p.m. and Georgetown-Ridge Farm will take on Heritage at 7 p.m.

Oakwood rebounds at Monticello

MONTICELLO — After a tough loss to Tuscola on Tuesday, the Comets were able to beat Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 69-55 at the Monticello Tournament.

Carsen Dudley had 19 points and three steals to lead Oakwood, while Jackson Didley had 17 points, Alec Harrison had 12 points an seven rebounds, Brody Taflinger had nine points and Cort Vermilion had eight points and three assists.

The Comets would wrap up the day with a 57-46 win over Paxton-Buckley-Loda. Jackson Dudley had 12, while Taflinger and Vermillion each had 11 , Carsen Dudley had nine and Harrison added six.

With the wins, Oakwood will play in the third-place game today at 3:30 p.m..

Westville wins opener at Tri-County

KANSAS — The Tigers were able to pull out a 47-42 win over host Tri-County in the Tri-County Holiday Tournament.

Easton Barney and Drew Wichtowski each had 15 points for the Tigers, who was down 14-4 after the first quarter, but took a 21-19 halftime lead, while Cameron Steinbaugh and Matthew Darling each had six points.

The Tigers will continue play in the tournament with a game against Lawrenceville at 1:30 p.m. today.
