Local athletes experience great success at Warrior Invitational

Mar. 19—The local outdoor track & field season began on Friday as the Warrior Invitational was hosted by Southwestern, with several of our local athletes gaining high placements.

For the boys, Southwestern finished in second place, with Pulaski in fifth and Somerset in sixth.

In the boys' 100m dash, Southwestern's Kameron Cox finished third with a time of 11.37, while Somerset's Tyson Absher finished fourth with a time of 11.54. Other finishers included Southwestern's Dashaun Sejour in fifth with a time of 11.74, Somerset's Cameron Mccaskill in eighth with a time of 12.08, Pulaski's Hayden Vaught in 15th, Southwestern's Jonathan Haynes in 29th and Southwestern's Tyler Arnett in 33rd.

In the boys' 200m dash, Southwestern's Victor Colyer finished third with a time of 23.52, while Somerset's Tyson Absher finished sixth with a time of 23.95. Other finishers included Pulaski's Kasen Brock in seventh with a time of 24.50, Southwestern's Valor Pennington in 13th, Pulaski's Bryson Mounce in 17th, Southwestern's Jonathan Haynes in 30th and Southwestern's Tyler Arnett in 31st.

Colyer came in fourth in the boys' 400m dash, finishing in a time of 52.56, while Pulaski's Jack Furr finished seventh with a time of 56.35. Other finishers included Somerset's Eli Eastham in ninth with a time of 57.63, Southwestern's Ben Coomer in 13th, Somerset's Bryson Stone in 14th, Pulaski's Hunter Black in 16th, Southwestern's Jonathan Haynes in 25th and Southwestern's Maddox Singleton in 28th.

In the boys' 800m, Southwestern's Drew Kelly finished sixth with a time of 2:17.17, with Pulaski's Landon Stevens finishing 11th with a time of 2:28.55. Other finishers included Southwestern's Hayden Cummins in 13th and Pulaski's Abel Super in 18th.

In the boys' 1600m, Southwestern's Zabrey Bortz finished 12th with a time of 5:13.39. Other finishers included Southwestern's Hayden Cummins in 17th, Somerset's Cameron Albright in 22nd, Somerset's John Lackey in 25th, Pulaski's Micah Super in 26th and Southwestern's Bryce Bateman in 31st.

Bortz finished third in the boys' 3200m in a time of 10:58.90. Other finishers included Southwestern's Hunter Troxtle in sixth with a time of 11:49.08, Somerset's Noah Prather in 13th and John Lackey in 14th, Pulaski's Micah Super in 15th, Pulaski's Jasper Pace in 17th and Southwestern's Bryce Bateman in 18th.

In the boys' 110m hurdles, Southwestern's Tyler Phelps finished fourth in a time of 21.52, Southwestern's Gunner Schlosser finished fifth in a time of 21.65 and Pulaski's Bryan Ford finished sixth in a time of 21.84.

In the boys' 300m hurdles, Southwestern's Steven Flynn finished third with a time of 47.35. Other finishers included Pulaski's Charlie Turner in seventh with a time of 51.85, Southwestern's Gunner Schlosser in 10th and Southwestern's Tyler Phelps in 11th

Somerset won the boys' 4x100m relay, with Southwestern and Pulaski finishing second and third respectively.

In the boys' 4x200m relay, Southwestern finished sixth and Somerset finished eighth.

Southwestern finished third in the boys' 4x400m relay, with Pulaski finishing sixth and Somerset finishing eighth.

Southwestern again placed third in the boys' 4x800m relay, with Somerset coming in fifth and Pulaski finishing seventh.

Pulaski's Cohen Finley won the boys' high jump with a height of 5-08.00. Southwestern's Levi Taylor and Valor Pennington finished in a tie for fourth.

In the boys' long jump, Southwestern's Kaden Hewitt finished second with a distance of 19-07.50. Other finishers included Somerset's Tyson Absher in third, Southwestern's Kameron Cox in sixth, Pulaski's Jack Furr in eighth, Somerset's Jackson Burgess in 12th and Pulaski's Cohen Finley in 13th.

Hewitt won the boys' triple jump with a distance of 40-05.00. Somerset's Jackson Burgess finished third, with Pulaski's Tucker Langford finishing 12th.

Southwestern's Michael Seiber finished fourth in the boys' pole vault with a height of 9-00.00. Other finishers included Somerset's Jonas Blakeman in fifth, Pulaski's Gage Andrus in seventh and Southwestern's Bryce Bateman in eighth.

Southwestern's Nico Pascarella finished second in the boys' discus with a distance of 125-07.00. Other finishers included Pulaski's Kolten Cain in ninth, Pulaski's Brayan Ramirez in 11th and Somerset's Cameron Allen in 13th.

In the boys' shot put, Southwestern's Nikolas Tucker finished fifth with a distance of 41-07.00. Other finishers included Pulaski's Brycedon Brown in seventh, Pulaski's Cain in ninth, Somerset's Braxton Wheeler in 26th and Somerset's Sam Miller in 27th.

For the girls, Pulaski finished in second place, with Southwestern in third and Somerset in sixth.

In the girls' 100m, Pulaski's Emma Coomer finished second with a time of 12.94, with Somerset's Emma Midden finishing third with a time of 13.26. Other finishers included Pulaski's Abbee Coomer in fifth with a time of 13.62, Somerset's Hannaha Boyer in sixth with a time of 13.64, Southwestern's Reagan Butt in 22nd and Southwestern's Katie Lyons in 27th.

In the girls' 200m, Somerset's Midden finished second in a time of 28.07, while Southwestern's Shelby Lockard finished in fifth with a time of 28.70. Other finishers included Pulaski's Brooklynn Sandlin in sixth with a time of 28.99, Pulaski's Aubrey Richardson in eighth with a time of 29.26, Southwestern's A.J. Perrin in 22nd and Somerset's Adyson Wharf in 23rd.

In the girls' 400m, Somerset's Isabella Mckenzie finished in fourth with a time of 1:06.26, while Pulaski's Alyssa Salyer finished fifth in a time of 1:08.65. Other finishers included Pulaski's Simi McAlpin in 11th, Southwestern's Brylee Troxtle in 21st and Southwestern's Kya Rowlands in 22nd.

In the girls' 800m, Southwestern's Olivia Huff finished in second place with a time of 2:35.33, while Pulaski's Addison Cundiff finished fifth in a time of 2:39.44. Other finishers included Somerset's Maliyah Childrey in eighth with a time of 2:45.54 and Pulaski's Isabella Chandler in 16th.

Southwestern's Shaye Seiber won the girls' 1600m in a time of 5:49.26, with Pulaski's Maggie Bertram finishing second in a time of 5:50.73. Other finishers included Pulaski's Bella-Cate Dugger in seventh with a time of 6:28.06 and Southwestern's Madeline Peterson in 11th.

In the girls' 3200m, Southwestern's Brylee Troxtle finished fifth with a time of 16:10.46 and Pulaski's Hailey Slaven finished sixth with a time of 16:50.50. Other finishers included Pulaski's Naomi Crockett in seventh and Southwestern's Kya Rowlands in eighth.

In the girls' 100m hurdles, Southwestern's Ansley Mounce finished third with a time of 20.55, while Somerset's Jaycee Cothron finished fourth with a time of 21.07. Southwestern's Rowlands finished seventh.

Southwestern's Shelby Lockard finished second in the girls' 300m hurdles with a time of 56.27, while Southwestern's Ansley Mounce finished fifth.

Pulaski won the girls' 4x100m relay, with Somerset finishing second and Southwestern coming in ninth.

Somerset finished second in the girls' 4x200m relay, with Southwestern finishing fifth.

In the girls' 4x400m relay, Southwestern finished in third while Pulaski finished sixth.

Southwestern won the girls' 4x800m relay, with Pulaski coming in fourth.

Pulaski's Hannah Murray finished fifth in the girls' high jump with a distance of 4-06.00, with Pulaski's Kadi Reed finishing sixth.

In the girls' long jump, Southwestern's Madeline Peterson finished 10th with a distance of 12-03.00, while Southwestern's Sia Taylor finished 15th.

Pulaski's Kenzie Cupp finished third in the girls' triple jump with a distance of 28-07.00.

In the girls' pole vault, Southwestern A.J. Perrin finished second with a height of 6-06.00, with Pulaski's Lily Hamilton finishing in a tie for third.

In the girls' discus, Southwestern's Chloe Brotherton placed fourth with a final distance of 72-09.00. Other finishers included Pulaski's Lexi Lawless in fifth, Southwestern's Grace Shoopman in 11th and Southwestern's Claire Peterson in 13th.

In the girls' shot put, Pulaski's Lexi Lawless finished in second place with a distance of 32-06.00. Other finishers included Southwestern's Grace Shoopman in seventh, Southwestern's Sia Taylor in eighth, Southwestern's Claire Peterson in 11th and Southwestern's Chloe Brotherton in 16th.

Somerset and Southwestern will next participate in the Patriot Games hosted by Lincoln County this weekend, while Pulaski will travel to the Cardinal Classic hosted by South Laurel.
