District championships are on the line in two Polk County districts as both Lakeland Christian and Bartow will have the opportunity to clinch district titles on Friday night.
Lakeland Christian plays host to Victory Christian and can clinch Class 1A, District 5 with a win. If Victory Christian wins, there will be three teams tied at 1-1. Zephyrhills Christian is the third team.
In Class 4S, District 7, Lakeland can move closer to the district title with a victory over George Jenkins. On paper, the Dreadnaughts wouldn't clinch. If Kathleen upsets Lake Gibson, the Red Devils would remain alive Lakeland would then have to beat Kathleen to clinch. The winless Red Devils, however, are heavy underdogs against both Lake Gibson and Lakeland.
Bartow can clinch 4S-8 with a victory over Haines City. A Haines City win and a Winter Haven victory over Ridge Community would create a three-way tie.
