Week 6 of the high school football season is in the books. Here's a recap of how the night went in Central Texas with updates, scores and analysis from around area games:

Navarro rolls to victory

Navarro trounced Eastside 54-6 in a D12-5A DII tussle at Nelson Field tonight.

Meanwhile Weiss staves off Temple's upset bid 28-25 with a TD in the last minute of play. Weiss runs its mark ti 6-0 for the season, 2-0 in district action.

Llano spanks Luling

Llano spanked Luling 53-14.

Weiss rallies to take lead

After trailing for the vast majority of the game, Weiss has come back to take a 28-25 lead over Temple 28-25 with 0:54 seconds left at The Pfield.

If the Wolves hold on, it will extend the school's longest winning streak to start a season to 6.

Austin High retakes the lead

In a back-and-forth tussle, Austin High has recaptured the lead over Bowie 30-27.

In 2A-Division I action, Thrall ups its record to 5-1 with a thrilling 25-31 win over Weimar. Thorndale was on the short end of the 35-28 final to Flatonia.

Adams to Adams for the 3rd times results in another score

Deuce Adams has found his brother Eli for the third time resulting in a score has given Vandegrift a 48-0 lead over Manor with 8:02 left in the third quarter.

Westwood's Pablo Zavala's second field goal of the night, this from 31-yards, has given the Warriors a 27-0 lead over Manor in the third.

East View's Ty Blair hit TJ Duncan for 6 to cut into the College Station lead 51-15 with 2:38 left in the 3rd quarter.

Glenn leads Leander 34-14 in the third quarter.

Pick 6 gives Jags the lead

Yaheim Riley's 99-yard interception return has given LBJ a 13-7 lead over McCallum at the half.

Vandegrift has held Manor's Titus Petteway 20 yards rushing in the first half. Petteway came into the contest averaging 253 yards per game in the Mustangs' four contests.

Andrew Petter's 3rd rushing touchdown has given Georgetown a 41-14 lead over Hendrickson with more than 7 minutes left in the third quarter.

Maroons rally to take the lead

Despite trailing 14-3, Austin High has bounced back to take a 17-14 lead over Bowie in the second quarter.

Halftime at Gupton

In a fast-moving game, A&M Consolidated leads Cedar Park 14-7 at intermission.

Andrew Petter has scored his second TD on the ground to put Georgetown in front 28-14 over Hendrickson with under 3 minutes left in the half.

Westwood leads Cedar Ridge 24-0 in the second stanza.

Bowie is up 7-0 over Austin High in the second.

Westlake leads Del Valle 21-0 in the 2nd.

Fowler TD narrows Georgetown lead

Hendrickson's QB Ke'ontae Fowler's 15-yard TD run up the middle has narrowed the deficit to 21-14 with just over 6 minutes left in the half.

Dripping Springs leads Johnson 7-3 in the first quarter.

Vandegrift has extended its lead to 27-0 over Manor in the second quarter. Westlake is up on Del Valle 14-0 in the opening quarter.

Cedar Park has cut the A&M Consolidated lead to 14-7 in the second quarter.

Acosta gives Chaps 7-0 lead

Nate Acosta scores on a 5-yard run to give Westlake a 7-0 lead over Del Valle at Chaparral Stadium.

Andrew Petter has thrown a 4-yard TD pass to Cody Holubec to give Georgetown a 21-7 lead over Hendrickson with 9:27 left in the opening half.

Westwood's Pablo Zavala booted a 38-yard FG to give the Warriors a 17-0 lead over Cedar Ridge with 11:16 left before intermission.

A&M Consolidated leading Timberwolves 14-0

A&M Consolidated leads Cedar Park 14-0 in the second quarter at Gupton.

Bastrop is leading unbeaten Kerrville Tivy 14-3 in the second quarter.

Glenn leads Lions 14-7

Glenn has taken a 14-7 lead over Leander in a a 11-5A D-1 tilt.

At the end of one, Westwood is deep in Cedar Ridge facing a third-and-one from the Raider 17 looking to extend its 14-0 lead.

Late in the first, Vandegrift has extended its lead to 14-0 over Manor on Deuce Adams' second scoring pass.

Vipers strike early

As is their custom, Vandegrift has taken a 7-0 lead over Manor on an Eli Adams TD catch from his brother, Deuce.

A&M Consolidated leads Cedar Park 7-0 after one quarter of play.

Demani Stewart has scored a second TD on the night, this time from 46 yards, to give Westwood a 14-0 lead over Cedar Ridge with 4:38 remaining in the first. Stewart already has 86 yards on just 8 quarters.

Georgetown wasted no time in regaining the lead as Noah Booras hit Xavier Warren on a 69-yard TD pass on the first play of the second possession to give the Eagles a 14-7 lead over Hendrickson.

Hawks even it up

Up in Georgetown, Hendrickson has responded with a 70-yard scoring drive to even the score at 7-7 with 4:40 left in the opening quarter.

College Station leads East View 16-7 with less than 6 minutes left in the opening quarter.

In Leander, Leander and Glenn are knotted at 7.

Stewart puts Westwood in front

After a three touchdown performance last week, Westwood's Demani Stewart has put the Warriors in front as his five-yard TD gives Westwood a 7-0 lead over Cedar Ridge with 8:42 remaining in the opening stanza.

Georgetown starts fast

After forcing a Hendrickson punt from inside its own 10-yard line, Georgetown capitalizes on a short field as Andrew Petter scored on a 30-yard option around right end on the Eagles first play from scrimmage.

Meanwhile in College Station, College Station has already built a 9-0 lead over East Viewlwithin the first 2 minutes of the game.

Two more District 12-5A DII games slated for this evening

The remainder of D12-5A division II slate has district favorite LBJ (1-3, 1-0) traveling to House Park to take on 2-2, 1-0 McCallum, while Navarro (1-3, 0-1) hosts winless Eastside (0-4, 0-1).

13-5A DII

Looking to bounce back from last week’s district opening loss to Kerrville Tivy, Liberty Hill (2-3, 0-1) entertains winless Cedar Creek at Panther Stadium. The Eagles are still searching for their first win after an 0-5 start.

2-3 Lockhart hosts 3-1 Veterans Memorial, while 3-2 Bastrop plays hosts to unbeaten Tivy.

11-5A DI steams into week 2 of district play

After traveling to College Station and knocking off highly regarded A&M Consolidated 14-10 in the district opener, Georgetown (2-2, 1-0)  returns home to host Hendrickson at Birkelbach Field.

Hendrickson (3-1, 1-0) dumped Glenn 52-42 in its district opener.

After blasting East View 47-6 last week, Cedar Park (3-1.1-0) hosts the aforementioned Tigers of A&M Consolidated.

In a battle of 1-3 Leander ISD squads, Glenn and Leander will be seeking its first district win.

1-3 East View travels to College Station to take on the defending 5A DI state runner up, College Station. The Cougars have rattled off three straight wins after a season opening loss to Lucas Lovejoy.

Weiss duo claim weekly recognition

Weiss rolled to its fifth straight win of the season last week as the Wolves dumped Harker Heights in their District 12-6A opener 52-14.

Wide receiver Adrian Wilson, an Oregon commit, garnered the Statesman’s player of the week honors by catching nine passes for 182 yards, four of which accounted for scores. QB Jax Brown earned himself a game ball by throwing for 330 yards with the four scoring tosses to Wilson.

Weiss is looking to move to 2-0 in district play as it hosts Temple.

Week 2 of 25-6A action

After McNeil’s conquest over Vista Ridge Thursday night, there is a full slate of 26-6A games in the area tonight.

Looking to remain unbeaten, the #5 team in the state, 4-0 Vandegrift hosts 3-1 Manor in a game that will feature more than its fair share of offensive weapons.

The Vipers are led by their Louisville-committed QB Deuce Adams and the potent wide receiver tandem of Miles Coleman and Eli Adams, while the Mustangs counter with the area’s leading rusher, Titus Petteway, who has accounted for 1,013 yards rushing in just 4 games.

In other action, Round Rock hosts Stony Point, while Cedar Ridge tackles Westwood.

Round Rock(1-3, 1-0) secured its first win of the season, two weeks ago as the Dragons took down previously unbeaten Westwood 24-21. The Tigers (1-3, 0-1) are hunting for their first district win after getting blitzed by Vandegrift 48-7 a fortnight ago.

Westwood (3-1, 0-1) is looking to get back into the win column as they tussle with 2-2, 0-1 Cedar Ridge at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. The Raiders stumbled in their district opener falling to Vista Ridge 28-7.

Top of Statesman’s rankings remained unchanged

The top two spots of the Statesman’s Fab 5 poll have remained unchanged despite the loss incurred by the #2 team in the 4A/other/private school rankings.

Week 3 of 26-6A play

After last week’s 20-14 victory over rival Lake Travis, Westlake is looking to stay unbeaten on the season as the Chaps host winless Del Valle. Westlake is riding a 27-game district winning streak since its last district loss, a 26-25 decision to Lake Travis on October 11, 2019.

After a week off Dripping Springs (3-1, 2-0)  travels to Buda to face 3-2, 2-1 Johnson. After losing its first district tilt last week, 2-3 Bowie looks to bounce back as the Dawgs host (0-4, 0-2) Austin High at Burger Stadium.

Two fall from ranks of the unbeatens

McNeil and Crockett knocked off previously unbeaten Vista Ridge and LASA respectively in their district matchups last night.

McNeil’s defense shone bright as the Mavericks nipped the Rangers 7-6 in a locally broadcast game from the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex.

McNeil improves to 3-2, 1-1 in District 25-6A, while Vista Ridge sees their record drop to 4-1, 1-1 in district action.

After a 4-0 start, LASA suffered its first defeat of the season as Crockett dealt the Raptors a    56-0 loss in a District 12-5A Division II tussle. Crockett pushes its season mark to 2-3, 1-3 in district competition.

In another 12-5A DII affair, Travis pushed over the .500 mark on the season as the Rebels, (3-2, 2-0) crushed Northeast 41-7. The Raiders fall to 0-5, 0-2.

In Thursday night’s 26-6A matchup, Anderson (3-3, 2-2) manhandled Akins 50-13 sending the Eagles to 0-6, 0-4 in district contests.

Rouse won its fourth consecutive contest since a season opening 34-10 loss to Lake Belton, as the Raiders edged Connally 36-34 in its District 11-5A DII opener at The Pfield. Connally drops to 2-4 overall, 0-2 in district play.

5-1 Johnson City concluded its non-district schedule with a 41-7 thumping over Hempstead in Bastrop. The Eagles kick off District 14-2A DI play as they travel to Harper to face the Longhorns.
