FINAL SCORES: Get Gainesville-area First Round Playoff high school football scores here

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the moment is finally here.

After long spring and summer workouts, and a grueling 11 week season, the toughest portion of the season has begun for the 14 Gainesville area teams who earned a spot in the FHSAA football playoffs.

Three of the 14 – Williston, Hawthorne and Fort White – will be on bye, but the other 11 will be in action.

Buchholz began the week Thursday night with a 59-0 thrashing of Mosley at Citizens Field. The Rams of Eastside will populate the stands Friday night as they host Palatka in Class 2S.

Elsewhere in that class, No. 1 seeded Bradford welcomes in Atlantic and seventh-seeded Keystone Heights faces a challenge at No. 2 seed Yulee.

Up in 3S, No. 6 seed Columbia makes the LONG trip west down I-10 to Choctaw in a Region 1 final rematch. We'll see if the Tigers can defeat the Indians once again.

Elsewhere, 1R sees multiple local matchups. This includes Chiefland and Newberry, a rematch from last year's postseason, a 42-7 Indians win.

Keep it here for the scoreboard all night, and be sure to follow Gainesville Sun Preps Reporter Noah Ram on X, formerly known as Twitter (@Noah_ram1), who will be at Eastside-Palatka, for scores and updates all night long.
