LeBron James film 'Shooting Stars' hits milestone for Peacock streaming service

LeBron James has another milestone to claim.

“Shooting Stars” — the film detailing the high school careers of him and friends Dru Joyce III, Willie McGee, Sian Cotton and Romeo Travis — became the most streamed original movie ever this week on Peacock, the streaming service that broadcast the film.

The movie has occupied Peacock’s top spot among original films every week since its June 2 release, according to Hollywood trade publication "Deadline." No detailed viewership numbers were available.

Directed by Chris Robinson (“The New Edition Story”), the movie stars Wood Harris, Dermot Mulroney, Caleb McLaughlin and recent NBA draft pick Sterling “Scoot” Henderson.

Based on the book James co-authored with Buzz Bissinger, the movie was produced by the SpringHill Company, the production company owned by James and Maverick Carter.
