LaVar Ball sees a title-winning Big Baller super team in the Lakers' future

LaVar Ball is the human id on display. He openly expresses his dreams and ambitions no matter how improbable. Big Baller Brand is the commercial enterprise he’s staked a large portion of his three sons’ futures on. He’s often touted his belief that the Big Baller Brand will be worth a billion dollars.

A day after pulling LaMelo out of Chino Hills High School in favor of home schooling his youngest son, LaVar spoke to ESPN’s Arash Markazi before his eldest son Lonzo’s second NBA preseason game, predicting all three of his boys will play for the Los Angeles Lakers and bring a championship home.

Last season, LaVar was sure that Lonzo was destined to be a Laker. While that dream was spoken into existence, this one requires a series of fortuitous events before it can come to fruition. The Lakers are more likely to luck into the Banana Boat Crew than they are to evaluate the other two Ball brothers, decide they’re roster fits and then actually land them via the draft or as undrafted free agents.

Middle son LiAngelo is far from being an NBA prospect and will likely end up as the Cooper Manning of the Ball family. LaMelo’s development is still ongoing, but if he’s an NBA prospect after a few more years under his father’s private tutelage, other teams will have their shot at drafting him, too.

There have been a slew of brothers in NBA history who have played together. Goran and Zoran Dragic did it most recently for one season on the Miami Heat, before Zoran played his way out of the league. All three Balls brought a national title to Chino Hills, but doing the same as Lakers is farfetched.

L.A. sounds happy with Lonzo and his humble demeanor, but it remains to be seen how Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka would feel about turning a fifth of the locker room into the Ball family reality show.
