Lansing Community College's softball team got off to a tough start at the NJCAA Division II World Series, falling 8-0 in five innings to Copiah-Lincoln (Mississippi) on Tuesday afternoon.

The 12th-seeded Stars had just two hits — from Jillian Harris and Jenna Morse — while 5th-seeded Copiah-Lincoln tallied 10 hits and 16 base runners off of LCC pitchers Morgen Ahlfeld and Lydia Davenport.

LCC plays 13-seed Delaware Tech at 10 a.m. Wednesday as it tries to keep its season alive in the double-elimination World Series. Delaware Tech fell 8-0 to Parkland on Tuesday.
