All lanes reopened on I-75 in Sarasota County. Myakka River receding after Hurricane Ian

All lanes of Interstate 75 near the Myakka River in Sarasota County were reopened on Saturday after being shut down when the river flooded.

The Florida Highway Patrol issued a news release late Saturday afternoon announcing that all lanes southbound at exit 193 (Jacaranda Blvd) and northbound at exit 179 (North Port/Toledo Blade Blvd) have been reopened.

A section of the interstate had been closed Friday night after rising water from the river spilled on the highway making it unsafe for travelers and causing drivers to take detours.
