Lamar Jackson expected to get another start for Ravens with Joe Flacco still sidelined

The Baltimore Ravens plan to have Lamar Jackson under center again in Week 13. Jackson is expected to start against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday while Joe Flacco continues to recover from a hip injury, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Flacco has not been been cleared to return from the issue just yet. Garafolo notes that could change in the next few days. For now, Jackson will be the starter.

In his first two games under center, Jackson has show off his dual ability. As a rusher, he’s put up 329 yards and a touchdown. In the passing game, Jackson has completed 60.71 percent of his passes. He’s thrown two touchdowns against three interceptions.

The 33-year-old Flacco has been sidelined the past two weeks due to the injury. He met with a doctor Monday, but was not cleared for action.

With Flacco out again, there’s a chance for the 21-year-old Jackson to have his best game yet. The Falcons are ranked as the worst defense in football, according to Football Outsiders. The Falcons rank 29th against the pass and 31st against the run according to the site’s metrics.

Under Jackson, the Ravens have gone 2-0. Another win would put the team at 7-5 on the season.

If that happens, the Ravens might have a tough choice to make down the stretch. Will they continue to trust Jackson in the middle of a playoff hunt, or will they decide Flacco is the better option?
