The winter storms that produced record snowfalls in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains and beyond have created a rare site at the state’s second-largest reservoir. For only the second time in the past 15 years, Lake Oroville has filled to 100% capacity, a much-needed change from the drought-ridden cycles that have been a norm for several years.

Along with some incredible before and after scenes, the lake’s rise from the snowpack runoff has been well documented in breathtaking photos.
