Lady Vols defeat Saint Louis in NCAA Tournament

The fourth-seeded Lady Vols (24-11, 13-3 SEC) defeated No. 13 Saint Louis (17-18, 10-6 A-10), 95-50, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Tennessee held a 20-15 lead at the end of the first quarter as the Billikens’ Kyla McMakin converted a 3-point attempt as time expired.

The Lady Vols outscored Saint Louis, 28-9, in the second quarter, to open a 48-24 advantage by halftime.

Tennessee had four players total 10-plus points against the Billikens.

Jordan Horston led the Lady Vols with 21 points. She also recorded eight rebounds and four assists. Rickea Jackson added 18 points for Tennessee, while Jordan Walker had 11 points and Tess Darby finished with 10.

Brooke Flowers finished with 17 points and nine rebounds for Saint Louis, which made its first NCAA Tournament appearance.
