Lady Falcons volleyball looks to better 2022's 8-14 record with season opener at Dexter
Improvement from last year’s 8-14 record could be the key for the Loving High School Lady Falcons volleyball team as the 2023 season starts Aug. 19.
In 2022, the Lady Falcons finished last in District 2-4A play with a 1-7 record. The Hagerman Bobcats won the league title with a 6-2 record.
Here is an analysis of Loving’s 2023 volleyball schedule.
Aug. 19 Loving at Dexter
The 2022 season started against the Lady Demons as the Lady Falcons won 3-1. Dexter travels to Loving Sept. 16 to wrap up the two-game series.
Aug. 25 and Aug. 26 Loving at Eunice Cardinals Tournament
The Lady Falcons could face its district rivals the Eunice Cardinals during the two-day tournament.
Aug. 29 Gateway Christian at Loving
The Lady Falcons open the 2023 home season against the Lady Warriors from Roswell.

Gateway Christian swept Loving last year in three games.
Sept. 8 and Sept. 9 Loving at Gateway Christian Tournament
The Lady Falcons play at a two-day tournament in Roswell.
Sept. 11 Loving at Artesia
The Lady Falcons play the Lady Bulldogs C and junior varsity teams in northern Eddy County.
Sept. 16 New Mexico Military Institute at Loving
The Lady Colts travel to Loving for a two-game series. Loving heads to Roswell Sept. 19 as both teams split the series in 2022.
Sept. 26 Mescalero Apache at Loving
Last year the Lady Chiefs defeated the Lady Falcons 3-1.
Oct. 7 Carlsbad JV at Loving
The Cavegirls and Lady Falcons start the short series as Loving travels to Carlsbad Oct. 14.
Oct. 12 Loving at Jal
The Lady Falcons begin district play on the road. The Panthers swept Loving last year and visit the Lady Falcons on Nov. 2.

Oct. 17 Tatum at Loving
The Lady Falcons host the Lady Coyotes in the district home opener. On Halloween Loving played at Tatum as the Lady Coyotes swept the season series.
Oct. 24 Loving at Hagerman
The Lady Falcons were swept by the Bobcats in 2022. The defending district champions play at Loving Nov. 9.
